She communicated (proactively!), some concerns with us up front, which guided our decisions and helped us pick out the best lights for our home/patio. We went with the Maxim Santa Barbara collection, and even though one product was showing on back order (6-8 weeks out), Mary-Grace and New York Lighting came up with enough to do our patio. "I ordered a bunch of fans from the company and had a great helper. Duane Richardson, Ext 130. I had a problem with a broken fan and Casablanca was giving me a hard time. Duane took care of everything. He intercepted so i did not have to worry or even respond to them. I was moving into a new home and have 2 small children and every time i was going to deal with an issue he had already taken care of it. I am so pleased with his customer service. He kept constant contact and updates with me. He was knowledgeable on fans and helped me in picking the perfect fan for each room and all accessories compatible. I would recommend this company to a friend and even more so would direct them straight to him. I usually dont do reviews but was truely pleased with his customer service."
"This was the easiest thing I had to do building my house. I called Duane at extension 130, who is a sale rep for Lighting New York. He was exceptional at helping me with my lighting needs. I got the lowest possible pricing on chandeliers, sconces, fans, and flush mounts. I saved at least a thousand dollars. I thought the art of customer sevice was a lost trade in today's work place, but Duane proved me wrong. My delivery was quick and prompt. I also got a chandelier that was not ordered. I call ext. 130 and Duane sent a shipping label on line and fedex was at my house the next day to pick it up at no cost to me. If you are ready to buy lighting go on line, pick it out and call Duane at ext. 130 and he will take good care of you. Thanks Duane and thanks lighting New York my lights look great!!!"

"Our experience with them has been bad from start - and we're still waiting to finish!Their customer service person gave us misinformation about the 2 lamps we purchased on March 8th, including the fact that they were 'in stock' and would have them within 5 business days. On 3/19, we called to learn that they only had one lamp and were holding it until the second lamp was available. Had we not called them, we would not have learned about it. We told them to send the one they had. It is now July 12th, we still only have one of the two lamps, despite having paid for both. On 3/19, we were told that the second lamp would be shipped around 5/31. We continue to wait!"
"The service I received from Lighting NY has been terrible. I made the mistake of placing a $10,000 order with them. I wanted them to ship my order overseas for an urgent project so confirmed by phone and email the stock was available and ready to ship. They assured me repeatedly it was available. Several weeks after placing my order, I received an email saying part of my order was on "back order" and I would not receive it for 3 months. It eventually took 5 months to arrive after many emails and phone calls from me. On top of this, notwithstanding they quoted a fixed price to supply and deliver, they tried to charge me an extra $1000 for shipping which I refused (repeatedly). I gave them a chance to redeem themselves on a small quote - 2 weeks later I am still waiting. Buy your lights elsewhere and save yourself the hassle."
"Stay away horrible service, I paid $360 shipping to have my order FedEx- overnighted as I had a deadline for the project ...3 days later now still havent received my order, fedex says it hasnt shipped but lighting new york cust service of course says it will be there 'today'.. I am waiting for 'Josh' the customer dis-service manager to call me back..I wonder how many reviews I can write in that amount of time...hmmm..Its looking like alot of them now!"
"BE CAREFUL!!!!I ordered fixtured and trimmings from them -from this woman Barbara- who claimed that she knew it all about lighting. She recommended the fixtures and the trims, for us only to find out that the trims didn't fit into the fixtures, and the trims that did fit were discontinued by the manufacturer. We can't find other trims to replace, and the fixtures will cost another US1000 to take off, and another USd 1000 to put up again. They're a MESS, so stay away!!!"
"I ordered a Dale Tiffany vase from Lighting New York for a 40th anniversary gift. It arrived 4 days before the party, but in pieces. I emailed Lighting New York Customer Service that night, explaining the situation, including the time crunch. I live on the west coast and by the time I got up and checked my email, they had already set the wheels in motion to overnight a replacement vase. The new vase arrived safely two days later. I was extremely plesed with their prompt, no questions asked response and would not hesitate to use them again."
"I have been given the Royal Run-around for a full month in trying to replace 2 damaged lamps(expensive, too) that were shipped to me. I finally had to call the manufacturer directly and am still waiting for this issue to be resolved. Customer service is very unhelpful in backing up their pledge to replace defective items. I won't be using this online company again! "
