Prices are competitive but it's the service that really impressed me. Very pleasant dealings with staff; lens arrived on schedule well packaged and returning the gear was very easy. I hired a Canon 500 mm IS L Series lens for a safari trip to South Africa. Would have no hesitation in recommending and would certainly use again myself.

This was the first time I have hired a lens and having looked on the internet, found that LFH prices were much cheaper than their competitors.
The ordering process from start to finish could not be easier. They're very helpful on the phone, and the pre hire checks could not be easier.
I needed a wide angle lens for a trip I was taking which was mainly Landscape photography. The lens arrived on the day specified, was well packed and had lens hood, UV filter and instruction manual included in the box.
I Would definitely use LFH again for my lens hire.

There was a problem with the availability of one the lenses we ordered, due to non-return by a customer. Stewart made every effort to find an alternative, resulting in him letting us hire his own personal lens. Fantastic service and top value!

Superb service and great value. The lens arrived before the start of the hire period in sturdy, reuseable packaging and was in great condition. I was also impressed by the friendly, helpful staff on the other end of the phone and emails.
I will definitely use LensesForHire again.

hired a Nikon 24-70 for a wedding as mine needs calibration. LFH to the rescue. Easy to deal with, reasonable rates, efficient service. Was particularly pleasing that they were able to check out my credentials without requiring me to visit their office in person [i'm not based in a major city]. I'll have no hesitation dealing with them again.

I hired 2 canon telephoto lenses, 70-200 F4 IS and 300 F4 IS along with a 1.4 extender, for a safari trip in South Africa. The delivery and collection arrangements were excellent. Rates were very reasonable as I had to hire for 4 weeks. The lenses arrived in as new condition and performed flawlessly during the trip. This hire allowed me to get wildlife photos of breathtaking clarity, something I've only aspired to in the past. I have calculated that I could hire these lenses for 4 weeks every year for the next 10yrs and it would still cost less than purchasing the lenses! I will certanly use Lenses for Hire in the future [though not for 4 weeks every year for the next 10 yrs!]

I was extremely impressed with the service delivered by Lenses for Hire. The initial order process was very straightforward. Approximately 7 days before the lens was due to be delivered I received a call to say that, unfortunately, the client who had the lens before me had dropped the lens, and that, alas, there was not another lens (of the same type) available. However, and this is why I was really impressed, the consultant I spoke to explained very clearly (and with evidently profound knowledge) the pros & cons of other lenses / configurations that would help me to get the photos I needed from the trip I was going on. Organisations show their real character when there are problems and this company passed that test with flying colours. Subsequently the delivery / collection arrangements were flawless, and I got great images using the alternative lens (which was much higher specification, but provided at no extra cost to the original order). All in all, Lenses for Hire appears to offer an entirely professional and important service and I cannot recommend the company highly enough. Thank you.

Absolutely delighted with this service, and highly recommend it. What these guys get right is the personal touch. This is not a mass-commodity hire service, with impersonal standard emails and massively restrictive clauses. They ask detailed intelligent questions to establish you're legit and then treat you like an adult. It feels like you're actually communicating with real people.
The hire terms are extremely fair: the hire period is made of complete days, with delivery the day before, and expected the day after. Due to the postal strikes I sent a friend to return the lens in person the next working day - they were cool with this.
The kit was flawless - really well presented, with accessories I didn't expect (tripod mount, hood, UV filter, bag) and well packed.
It all worked a treat, I got some great shots, and I will definitely use them again.

Service is superb. Both times I have ordered a lens rental on the spur of the moment and both times LFH delivered the next day. Everything is straight forward, you are contacted by staff, not just an automated email.
During the postal strike LFH called my mobile to arrange a delivery that would gaurantee next day.
I'm only a hobby shooter, however I wouldnt hesistate to hire from LFH if I were pro.

I had a planned aircraft spotting trip to the US and was contemplating buying a new lens (Canon 100-400)but at £1300 decided that I could not justify the cost. A friend of mine then mentioned about hiring a lens. The benefit being that I could get some great pics and trial the use of the lens at the same time. A quick search on google found this company and the reviews seemed very good.
In the end I took the plunge and hired both the Canon 100-400 and the 24-105. This would give me the best of both worlds. The wideangle was perfect for airshow statics and museums. The zoom lens was great for flying shots.
The company service was great from start to finish. They took time explaining the process. I explained that I didnt want to start hiring the lenses before I set out on holiday but I needed to receive them a day or 2 early because of the weekend. This was no problem. I got the lenses 2 days before I travelled so I didnt have to incur cost for the period I wasnt using it.
The lenses came well packaged together with instructions for use. On my return, the courier company picked them up from home and delivered them back.
Was the cost worth it?. I think it was. I hired over £2000 worth of lenses and paid just over £150 for 9 days hire, insurance and 2 way courier drop off/pick up. Given the cost of the holiday, this additional cost seemed reasonable but was well below what I would have paid if I had bought new lenses of my own. Having waited 25 years to capture pictures of the rarities at Edwards Air Force Base and the massive aircraft bone yard at Davis Monthan I wanted to ensure I took as many great pictures as possible
The other benefit is that having trialed the 100-400 I would now consider buying this without hesitation whereas previously I would have been in 2 minds.
If you need a quality lense for a special occasion I wouldnt hesitate using Lenses for hire.

First time I hired some lenses. This company was recommended by a friend of mine. Everything was great from start to finish, they even helped me out when I had trouble getting the lens back. No bad words to say at all.
