Due to a delay with UPS, the lens we were to ship him did not make it out to us in time from another customer and we notified the customer instantly. The customer sounded content with a full money back refund, as well as a discount on his next order. We also contacted the customer to let him know we could Next Day Air AM the lens to him on location, for free. I was told it wasn't a big deal, and he'd take the refund. The customer then requested a 400mm lens which was out of stock instead, after the refund was processed.
I would like to think that our hundreds of other happy customers are aware we do carry an extensive inventory. We tried to make this customer as happy as possible, however he wasn't willing to budge - and there is nothing I can do about that. We have fan mail we receive as a tribute to this (on our Facebook fan page) - as we have one of the highest availability rates in the industry.
Sir, you are obviously biased due to your unsatisfactory experience with our company and I tried to make it up to you several ways. You will be hard pressed to find a company with Canon 300mm f/2.8 lenses just sitting around, and unfortunately all of ours were out. That doesn't mean we don't have a dozen copies of some of the most popular lenses in stock like the 24-70 and 70-200. I'm sorry you had a negative experience but we have hundreds of happy customers to this day. I hope you can come back as a happy customer in the future.”
"Ordered a lens from LensTerminal.com for a project. The lens was shown 'In Stock'. I never got any info from LensTerminal.com about my order status. It took several attempts to contact someone at LensTerminal.com and when I did they said that the Lens I needed was 'Out of Stock Permanently'. They charged my card immediately upon my placing the order, but say it will take 2-3 days to return my money.
Bad business practices!
