"DO NOT use this company! First, horrible customer service, attitude and truly do not care about customers. Watch out for hidden charges, even when errors are made, and lengthy delays of books. I have ordered on two occasions, and both times books very late to arrive. I am in graduate school and order 3 weeks out, but sometimes have sweated it. When calling customer service, expect apathetic attitudes and a true desire not to make things right, nor in cases of the order late, no desire to find out when delivery will be. I was charged a restocking fee for a book returned same day when it said within 25 days money back. They left out the hidden charges. Will use competitor from now on."

"ATTENTION: DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!!!I rented a book from this company last semester. I was charged for the book on my credit card AFTER RETURNING IT. The company claimed they received an "empty package". A case was opened through UPS assuming they were at fault with the "missing textbook". UPS CONFIRMED THE BOOK WAS SAFELY DELIVERED AND PROVIDED A SIGNATURE AND WAS NOT DAMAGED DURING TRANSIT. THE COMPANY REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY CLAIMING "they did not have the book" ALTHOUGH I HAD ALL THE PROOF STATING THEY HAD POSSESSION OF THE BOOK AND MY NEARLY $300!!!!!"

"FIrst off, the price and shipping was great for my rental. But the book came with the workbook pages torn off but not specified in the description at all; they are the reason I needed this book in the first place so I could do my homework to do well in my class. I emailed them about it, over one week later, no response whatsoever. Tried calling them, did not reach anyone after FORTY FIVE MINUTES. I called three times, each time was put on hold for about 15 minutes. I just want a book with the pages I need to do well in my class! And they are not willing to even attend to my questions! This is really the worst rental company in the whole universe. "

"I ordered a 2 books about a week ago and it has still yet to come. Which is alright but I have attempted multiple times to track my order to see when it will be coming but it still continues to tell me that the tracking number does not exist. I have assignments due soon and still have no book to do them. I have also contacted them through email a couple of days ago and have still yet to receive a response from them. I ordered from this website specifically because it offered the lowest prices but I would much rather spend the extra money to have my books here on time and at least have a tracking number that worked."

"DO NOT USE KNETBOOKS! Do not use this site. They seem to be reasonably priced, but they don;t even come close to the delivery dates they quote.I was looking for the best price for my son's textbooks. Knetbooks was the best price. It was Christmas break and my son was home until after new years. Knetbooks site said they would be delivered by Dec 30th. I figured even if they were a day late or so, that would be fine as my son didn’t have to leave for college until Jan 2nd. Here it is Jan 6th and I'm still waiting on 2 of his books. So not only is he going to start classes without his required textbooks, but once they arrive I am going to have to pay to ship them to him at school - which adds another few days he will be without his textbooks. Had Knetbooks put an accurate estimate of the delivery - or just said that 2 of his books were currently out of stock - then I would have known to look elsewhere. But Knetbooks baits and switches - it gives you a sense of security that the books will arrive on time, then tell you later that they were not in stock and will be extremely late!I contacted Knetbooks customer service via their website as well as via e-mail. I never received a reply to my e-mail. The website just sent me a response (5 days after I submitted my concern on the website) saying:Our records indicate that 4 of your rentals were delivered on 01/02 (3 days late), Give Me Liberty!: An American History was delivered on 01/06 (7 days late), Essays on Immigration is estimated to deliver on 01/06 (7 days late) per UPS tracking XXXXXXXXXX. We are currently awaiting the arrival of Great Speeches of the 20th Century from the vendor. We do not have an exact arrival date but we are working with the vendor to obtain a more specific time frame. Your order will be shipped as soon as this item comes into stock. Someone at Knetbooks should realize that textbooks are used by students in college classes. Classes that begin on a certain date! Do they not realize how important it is that a kid start his classes with books in hand? If something is out of stock, or will take over 2 weeks deliver, let your customers know this! Their response restates what I already know – some books were late, some books were really late, and one book they have no idea on when it will arrive. This is ridiculous – my son will probably have to buy the book that Knetbooks has no idea about, then we will end up paying rental on something he will never use. Does someone call to apologize? No. They just basically send me a response restating what I already know and that my son is screwed when it comes to the last book! I will never use Knetbooks again – do yourself a favor and avoid this company! Scam Artists!"

"So usually this was a fine place to rent books from but this last time will probably be the LAST time I will ever order from Knetbooks again. Order to books to rent and only one of them shipped, when I called to ask about the other one they proceeded to tell me that it was out of stock and they were still taking orders for it! I was not notified at all nor did it say on their website that the book was out of stock! If I had not called to ask about it they would not have told me, even though I had already been charged for the order. They were unable to tell me when of if they would get the book in. The only solution that was offered by the lady in the phone was a refund. As a college student when I order my books I expet to know when they will ship and when they will get here since it is time sensative that I get them in. I am extremly disappointed in the service I got and will not reffer knetbooks to any furture people!!! I Think that it is common sense to tell the people ordering that the book is out of stock! I feel bad for the people that have continued to order this book and will not be told they wont be getting it until who knows when! "

"I have ordered rental books from Knetbooks a few times and the prices are great, the shipping is always free, and they books arrived on time. I had to return a couple of books for a refund and I am still waiting for the refund to appear on my account. I have sent them an email asking about the refund, but I only got an auto reply at this point. I am going to give them a little more time for the refund and then I will try to call and see how their customer service via phone is compared to email. This company has come through beautifully on the straight forward transaction of rent a book, receive the book, return the book. But so far I am seeing some trouble with their refund process and email customer service."

"Two words summarize my opinion of knetbooks: Never Again. Two more words summarize my advice to you about knetbooks: RUN AWAY!Here's why I hold this position:1. Though prices shown were fair, I honestly don't believe they ever had my book in stock2. After placing my order online, I didn't receive a confirmation email until the next day - immediate confirmation should be a given with online transactions and made me question the reputability of knetbooks right away3. "We ordered the books with 2 day shipping due to an issue with our bookstore not having in what was needed. We are now at 4 days before UPS' expected arrival time.We called yesterday and were told they would be here today and SURPRISE no books. So my wife gets to start her masters classes with no books.They told us they have UP TO 5 DAYS TO SHIP THE BOOKS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE ON THE PHONE. This makes 2 day shipping virtually useless. In this case the books shipped but from what we can see on UPS' website the 2 business day shipping was NOT USED. NOTE this isnt spelled out on their shipping page that we can see right now at all.I; her husband works with worldwide shipping on a daily basis. The fact it takes them 5 days to get around to shipping an order in which a patron pays for rush shipping is a an utter disgrace. People arent ordering "want" items these are need items. The company wants to fill that niche then do so with pride and do it right.Ill add a followup if something good comes of this but there are enough competitors out there to make me think twice about spending my money here again.UPDATE:::\On hold for over an hour wait after speaking to CASSIE CS13 representative whom now has told us that they offer 2 day shipping but it takes 3-5 days. Which means your excessive shipping fee to get the book in 2 days is a complete farce. In most all cases (according to Cassie (CS13) and Whitney) it will take at the minimum 4 business days and as many as 7. In our case we would now not have received the Pathophysiology book in 15 days as they were "sourcing" it from elsewhere. A fact that NO ONE ever emailed, contacted, or stated to us in the process.Now we get to pay 1 day shipping on the book to get it here 2 days after class has started. Thank you very little Knetbooks for your complete lack of integrity and service.Whitney supervisor at netbooks.com who told me "shes the only Whitney there and granted me no employee number" guaranteed that I would be refunded all shipping and the price of the Patho book so we could re-order the books in a RUSH. Ill give it 48 hours before I start the credit card charge back.Congratulations Knetbooks you just earned your way into my spare time review postings. Ill be passing on this experience to some higher ups at the U of R in Rochester, RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology), UT, Auburn, Gannon University, and University of the Incarnate Word. They keep a good rolling list of what online companies are worth dealing with. Something I also help review. And as a little side addendum.....KNET workers Cassie (cs13) and Manager Whitney claim that when you order the books it states 3-5 days before they ship....yet their page says orders placed before 1100 EST will be processed the same day. So processing means someone pulls them from a crate and then it takes 3-5 days for an "employee" to pull a box and stick a pre-labeled UPS sticker on them from when YOU THE CUSTOMER fill out the order.And for your reading pleasure....KNET BOOKS SHIPPING.....http://www.knetbooks.com/help-desk/shippingNo where in there does it state ANYTHING about 3-5 days to ship.........So if you pay at 0900 and they say they process the order...when would you think they would ship your (expedited 2 day shipping) books.I'm sure that isn't meant to be deceptive at all. Conflicting information when ordering vs. their listed shipping policy.....In reality they want you to pay expedited shipping and they will take their sweet time in getting it done. A fact that really wasn't listed well on that shipping page."
