I ordered a full customized system from KC Computers and had a great experience from start to finish. Kevin answered all my questions and walked me through the options on every component -- including a solid-state drive, which is an unusual request for a desktop system and was almost impossible to find elsewhere -- and the system was delivered promptly and has been working perfectly for the last month.  
 
I would definitely recommend KC Computers for anyone thinking about a custom computer system, and I'll be returning to them for my next one.

I was in the market of trying to get a new computer that could last me years without dying out on me while being easy to upgrade, being cable of handling powerful games, and whatever hardware and software changes might be needed in the future. I did extensive research online and eventually came across KC Computers. Their rating here was outstanding, so I figured I'd give them a shot.  
 
From the get go I received the best service with the utmost quality and care via email. Kevin helped me decide what parts would go best inside of the computer for my purposes, advising me to get some while telling me to avoid some others. He replied quickly, and it only took a day for me to get everything figured out and to place my order.  
 
The computer was tested extensively (as I saw upon receiving it) to make sure everything would be in perfect working order. The only issue I had at first was that my monitor wouldn't display anything from the CPU through the VGA to DVI adapters that came with the video cards, and the DVI cable I have would only work if it was unplugged and replugged in after startup. Kevin was quick to reply to my emails and try to help me get the monitor set up. A trip to Nvidia's website to download a driver fix took care of that.  
 
No problems occurred until I really started to use the computer, gaming on it and watching videos and running many applications at once that required the use of the video cards. Flash videos and certain games caused a blue screen to come up stating that my computer had suffered a hardware failure. I emailed Kevin almost immediately about it (rather late in the evening EST), and he responded within minutes. He had me run tests on my computer, and when they all came up perfect he gave me some specific drivers to install for the video cards that I didn't find myself at Nvidia's site when I checked, one of which I believe was brand new.  
 
Ever since those drivers were installed there have been absolutely no problems. I have been unable to repeat the errors that occurred in the system, and believe me, I've tried. I'm giving KC Computers a 10/10 because the computer is truly magnificent, the inside is put together flawlessly, and sure there were some issues but they were resolved within no time at all and everything has been working beyond how I could have hoped. I highly recommend shopping with KC Computers.

I recently purchased a new custom PC from KC Computers. The staff there was very helpful (and patient) with questions I had about different hardware for the system. When my new PC arrived I was a bit disappointed due to some minor assembly problems. They were mainly cosmetic and didn’t seem to affect the performance of the PC, however.  
 
When I notified KC Computers about the assembly problems they were very apologetic and sent replacement parts out that day! This is a company that seems to truly care about their customers. Even though they are in the hardware sales business, they “get it” when it comes to realizing that they are in the customer service business too. I will definitely be going back to KC Computers the next time my business needs another PC.

I am very pleased with my new PC from KC Computers. I have found them to be responsive and helpful, and the computer runs flawlessly. My PC was reasonably priced and well put together, with attention paid to wiring, etc. I chose KC over Maingear, Digital Storm, etc., and am happy with that decision.

Belated, follow up, review. I purchased a computer for audio recording only. Over the last 20 months the computer has worked flawlessly. Kevin fully understood the need for a "quiet" computer. Component choices were made such that, even with multiple fans, the computer is whisper quite. The entire transaction was pleasant and without any issues whatsoever. His prices are excellent for a custom computer that has been designed via the lens of a dedicated audio recorder complete with dual monitor capability.  
 
Even though I have not yet needed it, the ability to pick up the phone and speak with the person who designed and built my computer provides tremendous peace of mind.

I bought a computer with a Q9300 processor, and got it overclocked to almost 3.4GHz (for only an extra $50 charge). It's been up and running flawlessly for over a month now without a single crash/bluescreen. They do extensive testing before shipping to ensure the system is stable.  
 
This is the second computer I've bought from them - the first one has been up and running fine for almost a year now, without any issues.  
 
I highly recommend KC Computers, both because of their products and great service.

KC Computers has designed an excellent system for me far exceeding anything I have owned in the past. This computer with the Asus P5E3 Premium motherboard is quiet and very fast, even faster than I had hoped for. I am very satisfied.

KC is great store for an enthusiast. I am not sure it would suit someone who “just uses” the computer ; those folks should go to ?ell. The ordering and presale process was very easy. Kevin will give you all the time and information you need to order and build your rig. They processed and shipped the order when they said they would. There was an issue with the video card so I contacted Kevin. It was nice to not go through call-center hell just to get someone who reads a script. Kevin answered the phone! Recognizing that having KC send me a new card and me shipping the old card back would take a long time, Kevin was okay with me getting a card locally, and crediting me for the card I returned. This is flexibility (and trust) made it easy to get my rig up and running in quickly. If I was not a computer geek, I would have had to ship the rig back and the experience would not have been pleasant. ?ell would make you do that regardless if you can swap cards yourself. So, as a geek, it was the best experience I could hope for.

I have been purchasing computers from KC since 1997: for my work, for my friends and family members, for myself. This most recent purchase was made in December of 2006.  
 
 
I am very picky about what is inside my computer, as I want to have good performance, high reliability, and all that at a moderate cost.  
 
What makes me coming back to KC? I am very experienced in putting computers together, but I value KC's service and support.  
1. He is helpful when choosing the computer configuration.  
2. He is flexible about the choice of the components, and is ready to buy components from 3rd parties, if he cannot find one himself.  
3. He is great at providing support. He responds via e-mail very fast - even in late pm EST. He patiently walks you through diagnostics over the phone.  
4. Once the problem has been diagnosed, he ships replacement parts very quickly, providing advance replacement.  
5. In one (rare and unfortunate) case of misunderstanding, Kevin was very good at finding a satisfactory practical solution even though it costed him extra.  
The prices he charges are reasonable but not the lowest. You can easily buy all the components from different places, and assemble the computer yourself. However, you save your time and energy, while getting a reliable, tested system.  
And, what is even more important, once you have problems, #3 and #4 above are extremely valuable, and it makes it worth the extra cost you paid upfront.  
 
I hadn't have much of problems with all previous computers, but during the failures of several different components in the current computer during 2007, I experienced exceptionally wonderful service.  
 
A few additional support-related comments:  
KC does not offer on-site support (I am not sure about NY). So, if you need that, you'd have to struggle with Dell and alike.  
KC does his best to diagnose the problem remotely, so that the system doesn't get shipped back and force. The diagnostics steps are done at your level (e.g. even if you are a newbie, he'll walk you through). If you are not afraid of it too much, - KC is the right vendor.  
 
I highly recommend KC-computers to anybody who is looking for a custom-built computer at a reasonable price and with a great remote support and service.  

This was the first time I had someone else build a PC for me. After read many reviews from Resellerratings.com and comparing other companies I decided on KC Computers. After customizing a pc online, I called and talked to Kevin about a few different parts that weren't on the list. He was very informative and didn't have any problems using different items. Constant emails informing me of updates from build time to shipping notices. I ordered on a friday and received it on the next Wednesday. Packaging was very good, had included all the original boxes for every part in the pc (motherboard, video, cpu, ect..). I got an Intel e8400 3g cpu, XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 cpu cooler, Asus P5K motherboard, 2g G.Skill PC6400, nVidia 9600gt video. They overclocked it to 4g with no problem.  
 
Only two minor problems were that the hard drive had fallen down from the rack which I just slid it back in the cage. And the video card only had 1 DVI port and Kevin had no problem exchanging it out. Sending me the new one 1st, and I just send back the original after I receive the new one.  
 
I would recommend anyone looking for a custom build to KC Computers!

Another exemplary experience with KC... my system was configured just as I wanted, machine was clean, packed and shipped flawlessly, and it is running so smoothly that it was no trouble to further customize the tower with things I had here waiting. Any questions, just email them for advice or help, swift and responsive, always!

KC so far has a crazy level of service, 10pm EST emails? That's just nuts, considering he closes at 5pm EST.  
 
I called KC due to the rating he has here got on resellerratings.com and so far he hasn't dissapointed.  
 
I will keep everyone posted once I actually get the PC, but I can say with 99.9% confindence that I won't have buyers remoarse
