I wouldn’t do business with Jacks Small Engines again. I had ordered parts from Jacks Small Engines and did not receive what I expected. When I called to return them they cheerfully gave me an RMA number. After I got my refund I realized why they were so glad to accept a return - they charge a 20% restocking fee on all parts even if they are returned in the same condition as received. They "forgot" to state this when I called for the RMA number and it is not stated anywhere on their web site. The invoice that you get after you order states that returns are “subject” to a 20% restocking fee which really means that they are going to charge you no mater what but they want to hide this fact but not making their return policy clear. There are many sources of parts on the internet – find an ethical business that makes money off of selling parts, not returns!

I tried Jack's as an alternative to the retailer I bought my mower from. My carburator was 40% cheaper at Jack's so I decided to give them a try. The part arrived UPS in week. It was the right part and brand new as advertised. I would use Jack's again.

Thanks for the great service. Called all around locally and couldn't get what I needed. I went on line to Jack's and had everything I needed with in three days. I had my equipment up and running with little lost down time.

Part was on back order and I did not see the notice in my mail box. They offered to update my shipping to next day air for free after I called them about not getting my part withen 10 days... I got it the next day after they did.

Excellent service and super fast shipping. Over the Memorial Day weekend I planned to plant our garden but found the throttle cable of my tiller broken, nobody within 30 miles had the part. Thinking my plans were ruined I googled the internet and found Jacks by chance, and they had the part, so I called Thursday afternoon asking if they could actually ship it that day because UPS Ground only takes overnight to Central PA from MD. The lady I spoke with was pleasant and advised me she would do her best. Friday morning way less than 24 hours after my call the part was in my hands. I never dealt with this company before but they are in my favorites list now.

Items are not always as described. I was able to return the item minus the shipping costs both ways. The company contacted me afterwards and the shipping costs were also refunded.

I've got an old Murray tractor that I pull my Cyclone Rake around with and the gas tank sprang a leak. Parts are notoriously hard to find and the local repair shop refuses to even discuss repir on them. Received a new tank very quickly, fit like a glove, a really good transaction. It's just my luck of the draw that most of my internet purchases have had some type problem or issue. This was not the case with Jack's. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I suggest you avoid doing business with this company if you have a good alternative. I ordered a part for my rototiller online and was charged a fair price, including shipping. My credit card was charged the next day, although I got an email that the item was out of stock. The part arrived a little over a week later, although the website still shows out of stock. However, I discovered an additional charge of $21 on my credit card 3 days after the original order with no notification from Jack's. Customer Service explained there was an additional freight charge because the part was oversized (they sent a long part in a huge box with a lot of paper packing because they didn't have one the right size). There was no indication when I ordered that the shipping charges were just a guess and that additional charges could be added later. I had another source for this part from a site that gives real charges and sticks to them and had the part in stock ... would have been cheaper and faster, in hindsight. This is not the worst service I've ever gotten but it certainly is not so good that I would recommend them or come back for more.

Customer ordered an oversized handle for his  
rototiller. Customer approved being charged extra without notifaction when he checked out(in our shopping cart you can check Yes or No if you want notification before we charge you additional freight for items over "10 lbs." By dimentional weight, the item weight was 19 lbs. We made NO money on shipping. If customer would of checked no to over "10 lbs.", he would of been notified before hand. I was having trouble finding a replacement part for my Noma snow blower. Jack's website had enough data on for me to find the part I needed. It's costs appeared low in comparison to similar items from other vendors. The shipping costs were a bit high but I received the part the next day. I was quite surprised and very pleased with the incredible speed of fulfillment.
