"JNCS is a well-managed quality maker of custom computers. I recently had them make me a powerful computer to run complex architectural and graphics programs. When the computer arrived, it was DOA, due to the shipping company's obvious rough handling (UPS). The box had a crushed corner. So, JNCS said to send it back. I did. They decided to bill UPS for the rough handling and to build me a new machine from scratch, without me getting involved in the shipper's issues. They have just finished rebuilding my new super computer and are taking enhanced precautions (such as adding foam padding INSIDE the computer case this time) to deal with rough shipping companies. Good for me and for JNCS. A company that stands behind what they make, sell and ship.

UPDATE: 2 months later: the new computer from JNCS is working very well. It has a 7.6 to 7.9 rating out of 7.9 according to my onboard MS system evaluation software. That's an "A" back where I came from. I hooked up 2 monitors: a Dell 27" and 24" UltraSharp. Coupled with the JNCS super computer, I have an amazing system that is blazingly fast and sharp. State of the art. The top of the line Samsung SSD runs my software lickety-split and the dual 2TB HHDs RAID 1 backup everything every night at about 3AM automatically. I run my 100MB AutoCad files SIMULTANEOUSLY with large Revit projects and the JNCS computer never bats an eyelash. The 64GB of Ram was provided by JNCS at the lowest price in the Country, for certified, factory-installed memory. The 3GB k4000 Quadro nVidia graphics runs my big double monitors without a hitch. I have what amounts to a spilt 4470 x 1440 screen(s) area now. In layman's terms: that's about 46" wide x 13-1/4" tall viewing area. One of my favorite things is the nearly silent fans on the JNCS computer. I can't hardly tell it is on. The quality of my design studio is much enhanced by this improved level of quiet. There are what seems like an almost unlimited number of USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), so I don't have to use ugly USB port expansion adapters any more. JNCS told me, when I first called them, that they can deliver a "more robust" computer for less money, using standard components than anyone else, anywhere. They told the truth. JNCS delivers honest quality. The best bang for your computing buck. You won't be sorry. Nice people; quality components and systems. I have to watch every dollar these days. I feel good knowing that I saved a bundle and still got top quality with my JNCS computer system."

"I've been dealing with Jerry and his staff since they were a small store in Fairport village and have enjoyed the experience. I've purchased motherboards, drives, cases, complete systems and accessories with never a problem. The tech staff is highly experienced and has always offered me the best cost effective solution possible. They continue to be my go-to PC guys."

"Being a embedded software consultant doing LINUX and Android development as well as FPGA design, I asked them to build me a monster build machine.
That they did. Linux kernel compiles went from 15 minutes to 2.5 minutes. It is quiet even with the three huge fans. You should see the of processor cooler! They even loaded Windows and tested it with a 2560x1600 monitor. Then put Ubuntu 12.1 as I requested. All this at a fair price. "

"Having purchased several high-end systems from JNCS in the past few years, the company’s strengths have become clear. Working directly with Jerry and his staff is always a pleasure and also highly educational.

Jerry’s relationship with Intel allows him to stay current with the latest cutting edge technologies and the customer can rest assured that every detail is addressed and nothing is left to chance.

The JNCS technical support staff is equally experienced, cordial, conscientious and fully equipped to address and resolve any technical issue that may arise.

Having said that, these machines are so well made and tested so thoroughly, that so far, my only contact with JNCS technical support has been to ask a few academic/technical questions.

Perhaps needless to say, I strongly recommend JNCS to anyone considering a high-end purchase in the future.

Sincerely,

"I have been using JNCS since around 2000 - always satisfied. And on the rare occasion that there is an issue (either right after the sale, or warranty), they are very responsive. Highly recommend."

“Thank you for taking the time to post. Looking at your purchase history, I see that you have indeed been buying from us since February of 2000 - it looks like your first purchase was for an Abit BM6 bundle with a Celeron 466 and Windows 98. Things have sure changed since then! It looks like the Xeon E5-1650 bundle you just ordered is about 170 times faster than that old Celeron.

We appreciate your purchases, and look forward to continuing to provide equipment and support to you.”

"Over the last 4 years I have bought two systems, and several components from J&M without any problems. One of the systems was a very custom build that didn't phase them in the least.

All of my contacts, both sales and support, have been pleasant, professional, and satisfactory. And very few, three or four supports calls which were mainly to confirm that something I was going to do was not going to fry the system.

J&N will always be my "go to" vendor."

"I received my computer system few days before thanksgiving day. I felt assured to see that the outside packaging of the computer was intact and fully secured since this had to travel from NY to CA. However few days after using the system I ran into some system events logs and we can't seem to resolve this. I can not be 100% sure whether it is a hardware or a software issue. The techinican and his team has been actively trying to help me resolve my problem. They have been helpful in many ways including the sales person whom you can receive ongoing assistance appropriately. However I fnally decided to return the system for an agreed refund. I believe they are a great company with good products, excellent services with competitive pricing!

"Highly recommend. The best customer service I have experienced shopping. I have been a customer since 2006. JNCS is my first choice in purchasing custom workstations. Fortunately for me, I haven't needed anything new and had zero issues with my last purchase.

The prices and customer service are unbeatable.

"I have been a customer for over 6 years. The service is exemplary. When you call you get a person, not only that, they know what they are talking about and go well above and beyond in order to make sure you get the system or bundle that you want/need. I am extremly pleased, and will continue to purchase future bundles and systems from JNCS. JNCS ROCKS!"

"I've had my first JNCS computer for over a year now. It has an Intel DQ35JO mobo with an E8400 Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz CPU, 2MB Kingston RAM, and a 500GB Seagate SATA-2 HD. The OS is XP Home. I use it primarily for my consulting business and designing MS Access databases.

As other reviews mentioned, one of the nice services they offer is to look at the config you choose and suggest ways to enhance performance at little or no extra cost, or reduce cost without losing performance. E.g., I don't need a 500GB HD, but for $30 more, it's far faster than the smaller drive I had picked.

Shortly after getting the computer, I noticed that it ignored my power settings, and if I put it into standby or hibernate manually, when I brought it back out, it would crash and reboot. I sent the computer back with the programs I had put on it intact. They discovered (in just 3 days) that software I was using (SystemSuite 9) conflicted with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) on the mobo, even though the latter was disabled in the BIOS. There was nothing physically wrong with the computer. I uninstalled SystemSuite, and it has worked perfectly ever since.

BTW, I had a strong requirement that this computer be QUIET, and the case they recommended is so quiet it's difficult to know by sound whether it's on or not. It's great. My previous computer, which was custom built by a competitor and for which I had also requested a quiet case, wasn't; noisy as hell...which is why I didn't order from them again.

Only issue I ever had was one of their tech reps was not very responsive to e-mails. He was very tech savvy, but you had to call him vs. using e-mail. Other than that, terrific company. I recommend them highly. "

"I researched, ordered, and received a complete computer system from JNCS. I chose them because of the great service & decent price I received from them on the purchase of a motherboard bundle 3 years ago. I wanted "top of the line" gaming system and most certainly got one. After picking the parts I wanted, I called to place my order. I was assisted by Jerry - he was very polite and very knowledgeable. He did not "oversell" me and in fact was able to suggest a few changes that enhanced my computer and saved me a few dollars. My initial experiences both online & with Jerry was very pleasant. He answered every question I had - there were many - and was in no hurry; I felt like a customer & not just another chunk of money headed their way. A few days after I placed the order I called back and asked for Jerry because I had yet another question - there was a slight delay until he picked up the phone & I learned that even though he was on a break, he dropped what he was doing to take my call - that is what I call Customer Service!!

The computer right on time as promised - they even delayed shipment so the arrival would coincide with my return from vacation. The computer and the ancillary manual, disks, etc. were packaged unbelievably well. There is no way, barring being hit by a truck that the contents could have been damaged; it was packed with Styrofoam, airbags, and more Styrofoam. Every item associated with the computer was included in the container - every manual, booklet, and the individual packaging for the RAM, DVD drive, motherboard, and video cards - anything and everything that came with the parts was included with my computer.

Included in the container was a letter providing instructions and contact numbers in case of a problem. To date there have been zero problems with anything - I love VISTA and my new computer. I will always try to give JNCS my business in the future - their prices are very fair and their customer service is excellent.

"Shoddy workmanship, poor to nonexistent communication, outright incompetance. They made no attempt to contact me about an initial problem with my order, despite having my email and phone number. Nor would they answer emails. When they did build the system, they put the OS on the wrong drive, they left a jumper on the drives that drastically reduced their performance, and they reversed 1394 and USB cables on the motherboard, which destroyed two of my memory sticks before I discovered the problem. Major quality control issues; stay away. UPDATE: 12/21/2006. J and N did reimburse me for a memory stick, and the owner phoned me to make a formal apology for the problems I encountered."
