SUMMARY
This retailer does not respond to refund requests and makes outlandishly false claims on their website. They replace negative comments on the website with fraudulent testimonials.
MY EXPERIENCE
I purchased a black ink refill kit from "inkreloaded" (website inkreloaded.com) through eBay. It arrived in a reasonable timeframe but the printer would not accept the refilled cartridge. I contacted the seller through eBay asking for help, and they suggested wiping down the cartridge. This did not solve the error, and inkreloaded did not respond to my eBay message asking if they had any other advice.
The problem was in trying to arrange a refund. This proved impossible because:
-inkreloaded has ignored my message (through eBay) saying I would like to arrange a refund and asking for clarification on the conflicting refund terms in the listing
-The phone number obtained from eBay for inkreloaded gives a message that the subscriber has set the number to not receive any incoming calls
-The email address for returns listed on inkreloaded.com (returns@inkreloaded.com) is not a valid email address (came back with error: "550 550 no such address here")
What bothers me most is that the inkreloaded.com website makes a number of outlandish claims:
-The website promises "'No Hassle' Returns...100% guaranteed for one full year and we pay shipping both ways" (they don't, see follow-up below)
-"For the past seven years we have yet to have someone dissastisfied with their ink purchase!" (the eBay feedback has 30 negatives, 27 withdrawn, including many comments from buyers saying they never received anything)
-"Our experienced chemists and engineers maintain one of the most advanced analytical and testing facilities in the industry" (the many spelling errors and broken links on the website, and the invalid contact email all suggest this is a small operation)
-This morning there were around a dozen negative comments on one page of the website, many threatening legal action, but they have now been deleted
-The customer feedback section of the website (inkreloaded.com/testimonials) contains only two testimonials, which were coincidentally both added within the last week, within one minute of each other. Both "testimonials" sound fabricated and make similar grammatical mistakes.
-The website claims they are "100% Wind-Powered via Renewable Energy Credits" and displays the logos for five different "green energy" associations. However, I found the partner list for two of those assocations (e.g. EPA Green Power Partner) and neither contained any company names similar to Ink Reloaded.
My overall assessment is that if you order from this company, you will probably receive an ink kit, and it will probably work (most of the eBay feedback is positive), but if not, you shouldn't even bother trying to get your money back. However, I would never knowingly buy from a company with such dishonest marketing and shoddy customer service.
FOLLOW-UP
After posting negative feedback on eBay I finally heard back from inkreloaded. He denied that I had contacted him earlier and his response included sarcasm and name-calling (he called me "cold-hearted"). After I provided screenshots of my earlier messages he relented. I paid $17 to send back the kit as an expedited parcel, as the website assured me they would refund shipping costs both ways.
Forcing customers to mail back the refill kits for a refund seemed like a dumb policy as the shipping cost was comparable to the value of the kit. However, it worked to his advantage in retrospect. Inkreloaded took delivery of the package on May 15, 2008, according to the online tracking, and I never saw any refund for the kit or any of the shipping fees. It is now six weeks later and I've given up. So he got his refill kit back, and I'm out $40 with nothing to show for it.
