"I got a Fuji S2, same deal--no U.S. warranty, only Repairtechinc for $450/3yrs. The pitch was that customers can choose their own warranties and thus save money. This was a new experience to me and I was totally unaware of this "grey market" concept, where you get a camera in a box labeled for Japanese sale and a manual in Japanese. Shortly after getting it, my S2 died on the tripod. Sent to Repairtech (http://repairtechinc.com/) and heard nothing for a week. No way to check, either, and no answer to emails to them. Then finally a call--it would be a "neglect" claim and the cost would $240, but after much protest, an agreement for Repairtech to pay 40%. To say I abused this camera seems a joke. I personally treated it like a great big egg. So anyone considering a purchase from Infinity Cameras should at least consider these experiences here. All this could be on the up and up but it is certainly suspicious to me. If and when I get my camera back in working order it goes on sale and I will go to a local store for a real one. Oh, another thing--a huge S&H bill, also, nearly $150 added to my credit card by Infinity for the camera, a lens, and a flash--and S&H not refundable, either. "
"I ordered a Sony Camcorder DCR-TRV33 from the Infinity Camera web site. Prior to placing the order I called their sales line and asked if this item was in stock, incuded all of the U.S. Sony camcorder package items, and had a U.S. warrantee. I received a very quick respnse "YES". After placing the order I received a quick reply email that my order would be processed in 24 - 72 hours. I had heard noting more by 1/6/04, so I called customer service. After checking, I was told that the camera was on 6 - 8 week backorder. I asked them to cancel the order; and I received a quick email cancellation. If I had looked at the other postings on www.resellerratings.com, I could have saved the effort and time of placing this order and then having to cancel it."

"Ordered Sony camcorder DCR-TRV38. They called and said it would be backordered for about a week. Now, two weeks later, nothing. After reading other comments here, I'm cancelling the order. They do have the lowest quoted price on the web - by far. They just don't have the camera."
"I purchased my camera (Sony DSC-F828) from these guys because without question, they had the lowest price ($589 pre-tax). I bought the camera on a Saturday; Monday I received a phone call stating that the camera was on backorder and would take 3-5 weeks.
I got back to them two days later. I was frustrated with the delay, because I wanted the camera for my son's birthday party that Saturday. When I talked to them, the salesperson immediately began to describe to me the "upgrade". It seems that the kit that I bought (which no other reseller seems to have) is a "body" kit, which contains only a "20 minute battery", etc.
I caught on immediately. After the "upgrade" to the "standard" kit that Sony sells (which Infinity Camera called a "starter kit"), as well as a lens pack for $250, the camera shipped in two days. Surprise.
Let the buyer beware; you can get pretty decent pricing from these guys, but their advertised price is NOT what you'll be paying. All told I am still pleased with the price, but not nearly so much as I was prior to the switch.
I contacted Sony. FYI, NO "barebones" kit exists. They don't make a "20 minute" battery. And Infinity Camera is not a direct reseller, they go through a second party.
I believe this to be a bait and switch, though, and will be contacting the authorities in New York as well as the better business bureau.
"When I easily won this Nikon D80 package on ebay from Digital Corp (a.k.a Infinity Cameras), it seemed like a great deal at roughly $1600 for the camera plus a lot of extras. Upon winning and paying through paypal, I called the company to "confirm my order", only to be told that the charger and rechargeable battery would cost extra (despite the auction stating otherwise) and were not included. I said no thank you, and the salesperson became really rude and then said, "This item is on backorder and will take 3 weeks to ship. Goodbye." And hung up on me. Later, when I called back, I said I wanted to take the battery + charger offer, and suddenly the item could be shipped overnight and received within a couple of days. The "backorder" comment was to punish the customer for not buying into additional items. I was told upfront that if I bought into the battery offer, that my item would get past the border via courrier and would be on my doorstep immediately, otherwise it could take a long time. This is fraudulent busniess practice.
They also tried to sell me an additional Canadian warranty (since I am not eligible for the U.S one) at a price of $250 more, but I said absolutely not. I have since called Nikon Canada and the the 2 year optional warranty is under $200 CDN.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! The prices of their camera kits seem too good to be true and they ARE. It will end up costing you 20-25% more due to fees that are undisclosed at the time of your order! And if you don't accept these additional fees they will not deliver your item in a polite or timely manner!"
"This was one of low price vendors for a Canon GL2 camera on one of the price comparison websites, that offered this camera $100+ under other resellers. I submitted the order on their website and got confirmation of receipt. Later, I got an email saying there was a problem with the order and more info was needed and to call Kevin. I talked to Kevin and he said credit card info must have been incorrect but indicated it was OK when I repeated it. He then tried to sell me many accesssories & I declined. I told him I only wanted camera and he said it would only have 30 days warranty unless I bought a upgraded warranty at $100+. I declined and told him to cancel the order. This is another one of the slimy New York camera dealers at work. I would advise anyone to avoid this operation as well as A&M Photo World(same scheme). The legitimate camera dealers in this state such as J&R Music World should lobby for such tactics to be unlawful. I bought the camera at Norman Camera in Michigan and had it in hand in three days at a price $50 lower than local."
"Buyer beware. they offer a very low price on Camera's however they are not camera's for US distribution. i called to purchase a Sony DCS F707 which they had for $150 less than anyone. the make you buy a warrany otherwise it comes with none (warranty was $150-299). this camera should have a 1yr warranty from Sony, however since its not a US camera Sony would not offer any warranty. IF the company pulls these kinda tactics to sell it makes you wonder how good they warranty would be "
"I attempted to order several times. Each time Infinity Camera's order form was filled out, visa # taken and shipping established, they stated the "items were shipped". Several days later, I got a message that the items were not shipped but were back ordered to an unknown date. In some cases we did not learn of the back order status until around the date we expected to RECEIVE the items! When we asked infinity about their lack of in stock information the customer service person stated "that's the way it goes!" Not for our company,, we went elsewhere."
"I can't believe government lets businesses like this to keep operating and deceiving customers. I don't know what these people think...do they think that the public is made up of group of idiots? They keep pulling these scams one after another, knowingly that public knows about them. My story is very similar to others. I ordered a digital camera Sony DSC-F717 online. After few days I got an email to call them back for confermation. (By the way when I ordered the camera it showed in stock) When I called back the person started lying right on my face. She told me that the battery life on this camera is only 25min. I need to get an additional battery...that I also need memory stick and other accessories. I declined it. She said since it is overseas model it has no warranty. Tried to sell me warranty that cost so much and I also declined. So she said 14-21 days they will send it...since it comes from overseas. More than 1 month passed they still tell me 14-21 days and to top it off, this item is on back order. So i called them pretending to be a new customer trying to buy that same camera. They said they have it in stock and i can get it in 7 days. I hanged up and called again to check the status of my order, they said that they still don't have it. I confronted them that I just called as a different person and they said that they carried it. He said that it is impossible. WOW that's all I have to say! So I ended up canceling the order, naturally. Now do you guys see how low these people are? "
