"I had our company's computer buyer purchase a system for me and the experience was smooth as silk. I looked at systems from Alienware, and Falcon Northwest, but Hypersonic had the best prices for what I wanted. Got an awesome P4 system with a gig of 4200 Rimms, 2 SE Western Dig 80 Gig hard drives in a raid 0 config, and 2 NEC LCD 1700v monitors. All I can say is that this system SMOKES!"

"I got their Aviator GX6 back in May after reading the review on anandtech. It is probably the best computing device I have ever purchased. It outperforms most desktops even in gaming performance. after some aggressive gaming, i managed to break one of the keyboard keys. Hypersonic promptly replaced it under warranty without hassle. Definitely recommend."

"Great people over there, although they had a problem that lead to a rather long delay (16.1" LCD screen shortage that effected all 8890's) they bent over backwards to try and accomadate me. In the end they provided me with a overnight shipping, Earthmate GPS unit, mouse pad, additional Hypersonic binder as well as upgrading my screen to UXGA standard that was not available at the time I orderd my unit. All for no charge :) The only thing they could have done better at is communicating some of those status changes and problems with thier customers. I usualy ended up calling for the status etc. Other than that these guys were first rate. Oh and I allmost forgot I orderd a 3.2Ghz GX8 Notebook in metallic blue"

"My most positive computer shopping experience has been with Hypersonic. I purchased an Aviator GX7 notebook. I am extremely pleased with everything this company has to offer. This is what I liked about Hypersonic:

- Offered the most current hardware solutions.
- 256MB version of Radeon Mobility 9700
- Custom paint colors
- Arctic Silver5 is used between CPU/GPU and heatsinks.
- Free 2 way shipping with fast replacement
- No telephone hold times, phones answered fast.
- Extremely reliable product, very stable.
- All latest drivers, updates pre-installed
- Not a single dead pixel on my LCD screen
- Customer service will bend over backwards
- Very knowledgeable and professional individuals
- Tech support will try to help you even with hardware you didn't purchase from Hypersonic.
- Price was less than VoodooPC and Falcon NW for same identical hardware.

After I received my GX7 notebook, I decided I wanted to install an additional hard drive that I had laying around. Since I was used to Dell and Alienware's strict warranty violation policies, I thought Hypersonic would tell me that if I opened the machine, the warranty would be voided. Guess what, Hypersonic told me that if I needed tech support they would help me do it. I thought I would have to purchase the IDE cable connector for the spare bay, instead Hypersonic overnighted the cable to me and I recieved it the next day...FREE! I installed the spare hard drive with no problems.

Hypersonic has done a wonderful job with this machine. I have not experienced a single crash. Game play is spectacular. I have been playing Farcry on it, with no problems at all.

I recommend Hypersonic to anyone who wants a stable machine with the latest hardware and the ability to play the latest games. I have been an Alienware Area51m customer and a Dell customer, and I must say that I would never go back to them again. "

"Great company to work with. Fastest computers on the planet, and i have used alienware and other highend boutique computer companies. Hypersonic is clearly a winner and i reccomend it to any one who needs a highend gaming machine. My EX7 will blow away any other laptop on the market, and hypersonic was quick on delivering the new go7800gtx."

"I bought my second laptop, first one was back in 2004, still works, my wife is using it. The new one is an EQ7, I was surprised when the machine was shipped 5 days after put the order, was a very pleasant surprise. When I got the machine had a few problems to run some of my applications, VISTA problems, but they helped me to find what the problem was, and since then no more problems with that. The new machines are not noisy at all, which is really good because in the past they use to be very noisy. After 8 months of use, the VGA got started to act weird, and I sent it back to be repaired, they sent me a prepaid overnight label, and I sent the machine, next day was there, they changed the VGA, tested the machine, and sent me back the machine the very same day, so I was without the machine for only 3 days. Best, I paid ZERO."

, Hypersonic PC Systems / OCZ Technology Group rep has responded

“Hypersonic does indeed perform a 72-hour burn-in and makes a 128 point inspection before shipping a laptop. Our inspection records indicate that this laptop was in perfect condition when it was shipped out. When this customer called and asked for technical assistance, we immediately e-mailed him a UPS shipping label. We provide free shipping for warranty service both ways. However, this customer did not use proper packaging material, so the laptop arrived damaged. We always advise our customers to use bubble wrap, packing peanuts, a sturdy box and tape. Even though physical damage is not covered under the warrany, Hypersonic repaired the laptop completely at no additional cost to the customer. The repair took a few weeks (as we had advised the customer) since we had our paint facility prepare new panels. When the technicians released the repaired laptop for shipment, it was functioning perfectly. The display was brand new. The second time we authorized a repair on this laptop, we upgraded shipping to overnight at no cost. Our technicians completely resolved the problem this customer was experiencing. We also shipped him a Targus Deluxe Notebook case as a gift. We regret that this customer is continuing to experience difficulties and we look forward to assisting him.

"*Rather long but I gave the whole experience*
Before purchasing my laptop I had spent months pouring over the different manufacturers before I settled on Hypersonic. I considered many others but Hypersonic had the best prices and even the bad reviews online showed that they try really hard to fix any problem (Plus they use Clevo laptops, AKA Alienware, voodoo, Sager etc…. so it basically comes down to not if there are problems but if they fix them)

Hypersonic consistently had lower prices and after pricing out the laptop (AviatorCX7 Duo, 2ghz Duo, 2gigsMushkin RAM, 7900GTX 256mb, 100gig7200RPM HD, 1920x1200 LCD) I made the purchase. According to their estimate of (8-14) days to build and I figured around 5 to ship I should receive it at somewhere around 3 weeks. But:

A little under a week after I placed the order (Placed on Monday, now is Sunday) I got on and was playing with the configurator when I saw that the graphics card had changed from the 7900 GTX 256 mb to the 7900 GTX 512 mb. I was rather bummed out that I had ordered early and missed it. The price difference between the orders (with only the graphics card changed) was about $140. I emailed them and told them this and asked if I could swap them before construction. They told me that its fine to change it and would only cost me $66! I was thrilled and told them to go ahead and do it.

Doing so did delay the shipment but it still arrived in about a month (the graphics card was back ordered, and they kind of warned me about this). The laptop works insanely well, its truly unbelievable. Oblivion, ultra-high, 1920x1200, perfect… One word of caution is that it does get rather toasty, and if you are playing games on a desk after an hour the bottom is sooo hot you cant touch it (really!). Even propping the back up a little will provide enough airflow that its almost cool to the touch, the cooling system is actually quite good but it needs some airflow on the bottom. I went and bought a laptop cooler (a portable folding one, check best buy) and it has no heating problems at all now (I actually overclocked it about 50 mhz to) On your lap its actually not bad because theres enough airflow between your legs, so I barely noticed it.

Summary:
Pros: Great support, great company, quick emails, very helpful, awesome product, well built, price is great (try pricing a similar desktop that includes all the stuff in this thing and you will see what I mean or any other companies laptops), Light (ish), some overclocking potential (remember it’s a laptop), actually quite good cooling provided you use a laptop cooler or prop the back up (using powerbrick etc), for a 17” gets 1 ½+ hours of battery life

Cons: Gets hot (really), might be too large for some people (but at 17” its as portable as they get), overall low battery life (duh), Hypersonic has a history of not being the fastest shippers (I look at it that they take their time and build a good product, but that’s just me)

*One other neat note is one time I was playing UT2004 (everything absolutely maxed) and after awhile of playing (an hour?) I noticed it was starting to get laggy. I minimized and to my surprise I had been playing with the power cable unplugged!! (in power saving mode the processor lowers to 800mhz and the vid card drops its clock by a lot!) That made me feel that much better about it

"Since OCZ taking over Hypersonic, the customer service/support has done an outstanding job support their customers. I turned in my computer to get fixed in late January and I think it's at the same time that Hypersonic was transitioned to OCZ. Their technical support, Tom Sok, was very helpful insuring that I will get my laptop and paperwork on time. I'm very satisfied with their service and customer support. I would recommend my friends for future purchase of their products."

"I've had nothing but great service from Hypersoninc. I bought a laptop last year for running construction project management software Primavera 3.1 and 6.0. I need good graphics and reliability - these guys delivered. This laptop has been all over the world (Iraq, Africa, Afghanistan), dropped several times, attacked by viruses, and keeps on ticking. I just bought a PC from them and its super - although I was cheap on the graphics card and need to upgrade."

"I ordered the Aviator AX6 laptop from Hypersonic-PC. It is the same Arima laptop that VoodooPC sells for much more, though reportedly VoodooPC makes a few modifications, paints it, etc.
At first I was rather unhappy with Hypersonic. The salesman said that the laptop should arrive by 5Dec2003 (ordered on 11Nov2003). Well, the 5th came and went. Then the 6th, 7th, etc. On the 11th I called (30 minute wait time) and let them know I needed it by Monday the 15th for finals. The rep said he would annotate the order to enable saturday delivery if available, but otherwise it would arrive Monday morning. Well, Monday morning was too late for the early final, so I hoped it would arrive Saturday the 14th. Same and went. Then MONDAY came and went... And Tuesday. Keep in mind I had ordered this with overnight shipping. A lot of good that extra $40 did for me.
Anyway, it arrived Wednesday 17Dec, almost 5 weeks after the order. (To be fair, this was a very new model that they had little experience with at the time).
The laptop was well packaged, probably with the manufacturer's packaging. At first it seemed like they took the Arima (the manufacturer--most brandname laptops are made by a 3rd party ODM in Taiwan, except some IBMs and most Apples) and simply put stickers on it saying "Aviator AX6". It was missing the logo on the back of the screen too, which looked unprofessional, because the logo was supposed to hide the plastic injection point.
So, I was rather grumpy. However, after I used it for a while, I noticed that they really did create a custom WindowsXP install (Linux is not an install option). It had the latest fixpacks, a link to a customer satisfaction survey website on the desktop, and a number of tweaks here and there to enable sane defaults. I filled out the customer survey, complaining about the missing logo/lateness of order, etc.
Thus far I was only mildly impressed at best. Later that day though, I found that I had a message from a Hypersonic-PC employee calling to ask if the laptop arrived and what I thought of it. I missed the call, but it was a nice touch. Two or three days later I was surprised to find that someone at Hypersonic-PC had sent via UPS 2-day Air a logo for the laptop. My name and address was hand written on an envelope and it was wrapped in a piece of paper.
Well, well. Not only did someone read the comments from the customer survey--that day apparently, but they actually did something about it, that day, sending a logo via a shipping method that surely cost more than the logo itself.
Not that I really thought the missing logo was a big deal, but the effort at a resolution was definitely impressive.
With that said, Hypersonic PC delivered on every promise except delivery date (which was really an estimation, not a promise), and in several other ways went above and beyond the call of duty. The laptop itself is very sturdy and well-built, without the flimsy, cheap feel of most Dell laptops. The battery life advertised on the website is actually, *gasp* accurate (please take notes, Apple) and the people that you speak with, though I am sure there are exceptions, know what they are talking about. (i.e. they aren't random, untrained people from some subcontractor in India, though I have yet to call their off-regular-hours 24/7 tech support line they subcontract out for those that buy extended warranties).
Upon reflection, the shipping date thing may have been an honest mistake (though from reviews here, apparently it is a frequent one). The other minor problems with the order and product were solved and overall I would highly recommend Hypersonic-PC to anyone needing an excellent PC/Laptop with *excellent* service, but not one who is in any sort of hurry.
Addendum: I later found out that the laptop arrived with a much upgraded hard drive as well. I ordered their cheapest drive (40GB 4200RPM, or maybe 60BG--I don't remember), and the laptop actually has an 80GB 5400RPM drive, which is the most expensive one they sell. The order still listed the originally ordered drive.
I am not sure if this was a mistake, a gift, something to appease an irritated customer, or if they had run out of the other drives. Regardless of the reason, it was certainly a pleasant surprise."
