"I wish I had checked your reviews before I had placed an order with Home Annex. Their business practices are fraudulent. In January 2009 I returned an incorrect Decolav drain (RGA SR002554) and reordered another (Order # DHD 740796). I did not receive credit for the return and have not received the second drain I ordered. After numerous tries to contact them, I have not received any response. Even the certified letter to the CEO, Joseph Neiman, was never claimed. I submitted formal complaints with the NY attorney general and Better Business Bureau. I will attempt to dispute this with my credit card although they told me I was too late. I hope the attorney general takes action against this company. Home Annex owes me $138.00. Pat Stadler "
"What a headache this company is. I ordered a Waterford wall sconce for $520.00 in January. I was told it would be shipped in the middle of February. What a joke! Then it was April and then May! After that you could never get a real person on the phone. I canceled my order in May and was offered a 5% discount to change my mind. They have to be kidding! They had my money since January and all they were offering was 5%. I said no please continue with my cancellation. I never received my refund. After numerous emails with no response I disputed it with my credit card company. I finally received my credit in June. This was a big lesson! Read the reviews before ordering! It would have saved me a lot of grief! "
"I ordered two items on April 5, 2009 with an estimated two to three week delivery date. Beginning May 11, I began to send emails and make phone calls to the company to check the status of the order. I was able to finally speak to someone through the (718) 506-9359 number and selecting "sales". Every other option resulted in an automated response directing me back to the website. I was informed that my order was still on "back order" and would not ship for another two weeks. I then cancelled my order and was informed that a refund would be posted to my credit card. As of June 24 no credit had been posted.
I have disputed the order with my credit card company, and have received a credit from them. If the seller challenges my dispute, they will contact me. However, since the product was never shipped or received by me, it is doubtful they will challenge. I have not read any positive reviews for this company, but have read many similar stories to my own. I highly recommend you avoid ordering from Home Annex or Decor66, one of its affiliated on-line websites."
"Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. Placed an order on 4-2-09, never received order, yet credit card was charged the day of the order. The contact phone numbers 1-866-343-0020 and 1-347-274-0620 listed on the site are not in service. You need to use 1-718-506-9359. When you do reach them by phone you get a recorded message telling you to check the status of your order online. Customer Service is not open during the times of operation they state. Every phone option chosen gives the same recorded message, except if you choose SALES you may get a live person. The online tracking of an order consists of stating that you placed an order on a specific date and that you paid. Nothing ever changed to let me know the progress of my order. Emails (there are many different email addresses) sent to them usually went unanswered, except for one (which came from a different email address than any I had sent messages to). In the one answer I received on 4-22-09 they told me my order would be shipped in 48 hours and it would take a week to receive it. Twelve days later I still had not received the order. Online Chat available on their website goes unanswered. The buysafe contract they give when you order only lasts for 30 days, so beware if they string you on past your buy safe contract date. I finally got someone on the phone by choosing the SALES option. They told me they would need to call the Manufacturer and get back to me as to when my order would be shipped. They never returned the call. I called again and after waiting on hold for a LONG time was told they would need to call the Manufacturer and get back to me. I pressed the issue and was told it was the Warehouse that needed to be called but they couldn't reach them at the moment. I asked for the name of the warehouse and the phone number so I could call to check the order myself. I was told the name of the warehouse but they would not give me the phone number. (I checked the warehouse online and the phone number is readily available.) I insisted they give me the number since they were not getting back to me and could not tell me the status of my order. They then gave me to a manager who said it was the manufacturer, not the warehouse which was the problem. I told him I was not happy with the customer service and he asked if I would like to cancel my order. Yes, will there be any other hidden fees for canceling? No, there will be no restocking fee since I don't have the product. It is now 4 weeks since canceling the order and I still have not been reimbursed the amount charged to my credit card. I have sent many emails asking when my account will be credited and receive no response. I've contacted PayPal and my credit card company to enter a dispute claim. "
Homeannex aka Decorative Hardware Direct, has been ripping people off for over 4 years. My experience with them is just like everybody elses. So instead of reiterating what everybody said, I'm going to tell you what EVERYBODY should be doing to put Homeannex out of business once and for all.
1. Cancel your order and insist on a full refund for the items you did not receive. From the complaints I've read on various merchant ratings sites, I have come to the conclusion that Homeannex never had the intention to ship the products you ordered. They intentionally delay your order to the point of you wanting to cancel. At that time they will claim it's too late and insist on a 5%, 15%, 25% even 30% restocking fee. I believe the amount varies depending on how much they think they can squeeze out of you. The restocking fee is what keeps them in business, it's free money to them. Tell them you are not willing to pay the fee because it's their fault for the delays not yours. Be sure to save your emails and make notes of all of your calls to them.
2. Call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Don't be put off if the charge was over a month ago. You paid for something but you never received it, that's enough for them to investigate.
3. File a complaint with the Kings County District Attorneys Office http://www.brooklynda.org/da_action/da_action.htm. They are the ones that can prosecute Homeannex and force them to shut down.
If you are successful in getting your money back, please share how you did it so someone else can follow the same steps.
UPDATE 4/30/09: 6 days ago I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. Just today I received a notice from them indicating they resolved my dispute against homeannex and are crediting my account!!"

"NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I cancelled my order a day and a half after ordering. Initally I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee of 15% even though the order had not been completed or sent. After staying on phone 45 minutes to complain I was told I would have a complete refund. A month later no refund has shown on my credit card and emails, phone calls not returned. Now phone message states "due to high call volume " you need to send an email. Live chat never happened. I finally contacted my credit card company. This is the worst experience I have had on line. I only found this web site after the fact. I will never ever purchase from this company again and will spread the word about them. "

"DO NOT USE THIS MERCHANT. They take your money and nothing happens. I bought multiples of an item on sale that was in stock. They do not respond to email or phone calls. I have placed a claim with Paypal for my $95.35. The "Bond" they make you purchase with the sale is worthless. They do not honor the transaction and my $1.30 was wasted. I will post again and let you know if PayPal returns my funds. THE WORST TRANSACTION I have ever had online in over 15 years.
UPDATE: It took PayPal only 1 day to investigate and refund my money. Use PayPal if you want to protect yourself from merchants like this one!!"

"I ordered, and they ran the charge within 2 days. Nothing has arrived 15 days later. Email inquiry ignored. Phones not taking calls for the last week.
I challenged the charge with the credit card and let them deal with these dishonest bums.
The credit card merchant was listed as "Perfect Lock & Bath Brooklyn." These guys probably change their website names to stay ahead of the law, but odds are that this merchant account will remain unchanged."
"What a disappointment!!!! I ordered 2 shower baskets over three months ago, and to the date I haven't received either the baskets nor my money back. I've spent HOURS in their busy lines trying to get answers and first they started saying that the product was backed ordered with the manufacturer and gave fictitious time frames. Up to the point in which I cancelled the order weeks ago and i am still waiting to get my money credited back at me, which they keep postponing because they have more important credits to pay before me. But besides that and the times in which they just hanged up the phone on me, their best answer so far is that the hole credit department is on a break on a tuesday from 1:30 to 3:00 pm time in which they just leave, because they just can't work all day!!! on a regular bussines day!!!! Because its a company policy!!!! REALLY?????"
"I am HUGELY UNHAPPY with the dealings of this company. The fan I ordered was supposed to be delivered within 1-2 weeks. There was no indication at the time that the item was on backorder. I tried to reach customer service 4 weeks after placing the order. They never answered order status requests sent by email. A request submitted through the website was returned undeliverable. Customer service difficult to reach by phone; you have to hold the line forever. The first time I reached customer service, they told me it would be another 7 days to get the fan. After another week passed without results, then they said it would be another 10 days and offered an immediate 5% rebate for the wait. The rebate was never posted to my credit card. More than 5 weeks after the original order date, they finally agreed to cancel the order only to change their mind 24 hours later wanting a 25% restocking fee! This case still not resolved. It will have to go to the lawyers. This company operates in bad faith. My experience with customer service is just a series of lies and stalling tactics. I STRONGLY recommend that you take your business elsewhere."
