Started to buy Bit Defender from Herman street today until I saw all the negative reviews on the site. People need to do a little investigating before they buy from a reseller. First of all do a Whois search on the domain. If they keep their information private that's a big red flag. I did and there is no registrant it does give one name with 2 addresses a Jerry Ropelato in Ogden Utah where the store supposedly is and also Huntsville. (My doing this is an act of pure optimism as they probably won't publish it, but...), The store contact information is registered to a Jeff Clark on Lincoln
Ave.and you can get a toll free number from the internet for a few bucks a month. From what I could gather it looks more like an after market auction house. There are 4 or 5 Jeff Clarks in the Ogden area, and fro all the dissatisfied customers you could all pitch in a quarter and get every bit of info there is to get on all of them. Maybe even find your culprit. The number is unlisted and the one that shows on the internet Whois is formatted in such a way that it looks like it is a VoIP number. Before you buy anything on the internet do a Whois, and google the name of the site followed by the word "scam" then a "?" you can leave out the quotation marks. Also, No one gets charged immediately. The charge gets "posted" immediately but the money shouldn't be taken from your account immediately, it should be pending. So check your account right away. If it was ask your provider not to honor the purchase it is fraudulent. A little effort will go a long way toward saving you money. So make the effort.
Good luck. Also, if you want to know who owns that domain where they live blah blah and your will to spend 95 bucks...: http://www.registrantsearch.com/ there ya go.

I purchased BifDefender Antivirus 2009 from a comparison page of virus programs and found that I was directed to Herman St. page. It gave me another 20% saving. So, I purchased above mentioned software at 19,96 USD, and was charched immediately.
I received an e-mail from Herman St. but the license code was not accepted by BitDefender.
Soon after installation my PC crashed totally.
I have not received any refund from Herman St.

DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. Purchased BitDefender Antivirus from them on 7/30. After 8 days of my computer freezing up, and BitDefender shutting itself off I contacted BitDefender they told me to uninstall and reinstall the software, in the next few weeks I had to do this 4 times. I decided to cancel the subscription and ask for a refund and they refused to refund my payment.I was a few days past their 30 return policy.

I was supposed to get a back up disc with my order. Paid extra $5 for the disc, NEVER GOT IT. Called customer service left a message but never got a call back. I will file complaint with my credit card company to dispute charge. If enough people who got ripped off by Herman Street contact their credit card company, their bank may want to close their account.

Herman Street never shipped the CD I ordered January 3, 2008. It was "back ordered". After 2 weeks I ordered it from Circuit City, no problem. Herman St. assured me I would see my refund on my credit cards within a couple of statemnets.Five months later: no refund, no call back, no email communication. They got me ONCE! I ordered 2008 Anti-Virus program needed WITHIN 48 HOURS - I downloaded this only to learn it had a corrupted exe.file. I repeatedly tried to contact someone to resolve this. I did NOT HEAR FROM THEM UNTIL 26 DAYS LATER - AND THEY REFUSED A REFUND OF MY MONEY - I was forced on 4 Feb. to order from another company as work on a project began that day. WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE TO AVOID HERMAN STREET AS THEIR SERVICE IS TERRIBLE - AND THEY STILL HAVE MY MONEY AND I HAVE NOTHING. This review was modified by its author, Bernitta Keene, on

I order the 5 cloner dvd for $48.99 and received an email from Herman Street confirming my order and stating that it would be mailed in 2 buisness days. As soon as I placed the order the money was taken out of my bank account. It has been 2 weeks and I still have not recieved my order. I have emailed them several times and still have not recieved a response. The money has now been credited to my account so thank god i did not lose any money. But disappointing though because i have to purchase it again form another source. They never returned my emails or calls. Please Please stay away from this company.

I ordered a product from this company in November, which they never delivered. After multiple efforts at tracing the order, they claimed they had never received it. I thought it was perhaps my error - my credit card was not charged.
Foolishly, I ordered another related product in December, which I have been charged for, which I never have received, and which I've tried to cancel. I have gotten not one single response from them. I am frustrated.

Ordered Bitdefender Antivirus download -felt assured with their printed return policy that if it didn't work out, they would take care of me. WRONG! The program was not compatible with my computer operating system and I sent them an email immediately (within an hour of purchase) telling them it wasn't going to work and that I wanted a refund. They told me very curtly I would have to go through Bitdefender's tech support and get an email from them saying the software wouldn't work.
In the end, I did finally get it to work, but quickly realized what shysters I was dealing with. Then, I did what I should have done before ordering -check the reviews -and realize just who I was dealing with.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR $$$$$$ -A VERY SAD BUSINESS ATTITUDE.

A very bad experience. The DVD-Clone software I purchased was one release back (IV vs V). It did not work, the backup DVD would not play. I contacted DVD-Clone support and received weak, or virtually non-existant support. I contacted Herman Street to return the product and get a refund. They refused. I now have software I paid for and it has no value. Avoid Herman Street and DVD-Clone at all costs!

Herman Street refuses to be proactive in correcting their mistakes in sending me the wrong product. Instead, they insult me and expect me to go to a lot of trouble to correct their mistakes. Don't deal with this company!!!!

I am so disappointed with this company. I should have check their reviews first before purchasing from this company. The support guy named Scott Wimmer is useless. I mean the guy doesn't even bother to inform you regarding your shipping schedule. You have to even asked for it. Secondly, he starts ignoring your mails when you start complaining. I really hope that the american government should start investigating this company Herman Street. I think this is a scam company. They are fooling people. They should be closed for business. Shame on you Herman Street.

I purchased and received Power2Go software in a timely manner but when attempting to load it, the CD Key that they provided failed to work. For over a month (and 6 new CD Keys that they sent to correct the problem), I have tried to get this thing to load. I finally told them to send me a new CD or refund my money. They send me another new CD Key and tell me that should fix the problem. I am convinced that they have some monkey just typing in CD Key numbers and sending them my way. THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! By the way, anyone want to buy an unused copy of Power2Go?

I made the mistake or ordering from this company. I placed my order, which was to be an anniversary present for my parents, on June 14, 2007. My order has not been filled as yet and they are not very good at letting the customers know the status of their orders. I sent several e-mails and called their number numerous times before I got any information. I was told that they had oversold their stock and they were waiting for replacement stock. Mind you no-one contacted me to let me know this. I was only told this on June 27, 2007, almost two weeks since I placed the order. I was told that they were expecting to receive the stock for my order either that day or the next. Thursday, June 28, came and went with no word. At the end of the day I sent them another e-mail asking for an update on the status of my order. I still have not received the order. Either this is a scam company, or they have the poorest customer service that I have ever experienced. I won't buy from them again. 7-3-07 Yesterday I cancelled the order because they still did not have the stock. When I went home that night my credit card statement had come in and, even though they still had not sent my order, they charged my credit card. This is a very bad company. Please stay clear of them. They may seem to have good prices, but it's not good if you never get the product. This review was modified by its author, badgersmom, on
