They were soothing the first time i put them on. in i few days the hemorrhoids started to shrink. A week later they are nearly completely gone and there is no more pain! I did do some other things as well to help with the healing. i have been on a diet full of healing, fresh juices and i started to use the toilet in a squat which is also known to heal and eliminate hemorrhoids. I believe all of this contributed to the quick healing but the oils were a great part of the process.
