"Had a fairly bad experience with Hayneedle. I did a good bit of research on the best price for a gift for my daughter, and Hayneedle was toward the low end, but they offered another $20 off my order if I gave them my email address, which I usually guard pretty fiercely. So I entered it to get the coupon code, but it wouldn't work; when I called their 800 number to ask why, the guy said "oh that doesn't work on some items we sell." I said "so I guess I gave you my email address for nothing then, huh?" and he LAUGHED when I said it. So I sent an email to their customer service, saying the whole experience was really annoying. Two days later they respond and ask what my order number is; I wrote back and said I didn't have an order number because I got so mad that I didn't place my order . . . and they never responded at all. In the week since that happened I've gotten a bunch of cheesy emails from them about other "sales" they're having, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Overall they left me with a very sleazy, interweb shyster vibe. Stay away."
"I really like this company. I ordered a product and needed to return it. They have an online returns part of their website that made it really convenient, they are not trying to hide anything. They even refunded my money and didn't require me to ship it back to them due to defect. Pretty awesome. Saved me a lot of time and money. As to the other reviews, if you are going to order online, don't expect it to ship right away! If you need it fast, just go to Walmart or something...sheesh. Get off your computer chair!"
"Hayneedle is one of the companies at TopCashback.com. If you open an account at topcashback.com and then click thru from there to get to hayneedle.com, you are supposed to get a percentage of your total amount back from topcashback.com.In December 2012, topcashback.com was offering 8% cashback for orders from Hayneedle. I logged into topcashback.com and then clicked thru to Hayneedle and then placed an order. Topcashback.com even had a record of the date and time of my click-thru, so I used that to file a claim for my 8% cashback. Finally in August 2013 they said that Hayneedle had rejected the claim for an unspecified reason. I am a veteran of clicking thru various cashback web sites and placing orders, so I know I did it correctly. I don't know why Hayneedle rejected my claim without any reason."
"I wish we had researched Hayneedle before placing an order with them. We were re-directed through Amazon, so we thought that they were a reputable company. My recommendation to any friend would be to avoid doing business with this company at all costs. All of the poor reviews that we have read online have resonated with our experience. We ordered patio furniture from them due to cost, function and delivery date. It was ordered 3 weeks before a party and the estimated delivery date was 2 weeks, giving us a 1 week buffer. It's been 6 weeks and they can't even give us a status on our order (which was already charged to our card). The website proclaims 2 days shipping all over it. However, if you read reviews online then you'll see that every customer is complaining about the long shipment times and lack of customer service when trying to locate placed orders. Now, summer is half way over and we have no patio furniture for our new patio. It's so frustrating! We have called Hayneedle about 5 times and each time they claim that they will research it and get back to us. Of course, we are continuously calling back for a follow up in which they say that they don't have an answer for us. The most inept and frustrating customer service that I have worked with in memory! And shame on Amazon for promoting such a incompetent company!!"
"I purchased a Cinzano Umbrella May of 2012. I used this product and placed it in storage for the winter. In april I took it out to use and discovered that it is decomposing and unusable. The material is defective. I notified Hayneedle and they simply said it was out of warranty and they would do nothing. This company does not stand behind their products. I offered to send it back, take photos and was hoping they would follow-up but they did not. They sell junk and I would not buy anything from them."
"Ordered a beach blanket because their web site stated it was in stock. Chose 1 Day Fedex, which would have gotten it to me today. Today, my online order status still says In Fulfillment. I'm disappointed that they couldn't get me the product on time, but at least they took off the shipping charges. I'll get it someday I suppose."
"If I can prevent anyone from making the same mistake I did then this review will be worth it. I purchased outdoor curtains for use in the summer/2012 season for $240.00. 4 out of the 8 panels turned an ugly rust color from their original mint green within 6 weeks and I have an average amount of sun in my yard. These curtains were MADE for and outdoor gazebo and they are now totally useless to me. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. When I complained to customer service I was told that I was no longer eligible for a refund, discount or exchange. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!"
"Purchased 2 mantels from this company. 1st one was defective and returned. 2nd one, product says made from choi WOOD,it's actually veneer! Which is falling apart after being up about 1 month. Since the 30 window is passed, they will do NOTHING about it. Georgous stuff online, NOT in person."
"we ordered a product on fitnessequipementexpress.com which is a hayneedle company, the product was the best priced we could find, i placed the order on jan.31, rec'd a confirmation email that same day, with the rec'd shipping date to be by feb.7th which was perfect as it was to be a gift for a b-day on the 15th, on the 1st of feb. i rec'd a delay in shipping, their supplier would not have it in stock until feb.20th, so i immediately called their customer service number listed on website, talked to andrew, who said no problem he would order the cancellation and send me a confirmation code, feb. 2nd, just as a follow up i emailed asking when i would rec. the cancellation confirmation email, soon rec'd a reply from another customer service person stating she could see the cancellation request and reassured i would rec. the cancel confirm. email soon, on the 3rd i sent yet another asking for the cancellation email to be sent and asked for a difinitive date i would rec. that cancellation code, the customer service rep replied that i would have it by the following monday (which was the next day) and if not to please let them know, monday came and went, so on tuesday a.m. i sent an email telling them i wanted the confirmation code to be emailed to me, and that i was going to contact paypal to cancel the transaction there, i THEN rec'd an email stating sorry they could not cancel because their supplier had sent the equipement on feb. 1st, so i immediately called them and told them that i would not rec. the equipement, i had cancelled the order on feb 1st because they said it was backordered, i was going to refuse the shipment and it would be returned to them, the customer service rep. said whatever, you will pay for it anyway. so i called paypal, the paypal rep told me that the payment was still listed as pending, and they don't release the funds until a tracking number is sent to them so they believed that it HAD NOT been shipped, they told me to refuse the shipment and it would be sent back to the seller at the sellers expense. i went to hayneedles track your order site, and as of today feb. 6th it is still listed as backordered, and paypal still has it at pending. NEVER ORDER FROM ANY HAYNEEDLE STORE< THEY SAY THEY ARE ONE OF THE INTERNETS BEST RETAILERS, can you say FIASCO!!!!!"

"Not happy. They advertise...."easy returns."It's no easier than any other store. You still have to pay for shipping to return. Not worth it. Amazon still rules. I think hayneedle will save a little on return shipping , but will lose a lot later when no one shops through them......."
"Ordered the product on Dec 9 when they promised to ship within 1 day; today on Dec 13 I recieved an automated call from PilotDelivers and they asked me to call them to schedule the delivery time which is kind of strange. They only have delivery slot available next Friday which Dec 21 or Dec 28th. I was expecting to deliver it much faster as Amazon and other sites were shipping it within 24 hrs and they were delivering it much quicker. Will not order again on Hayneedle. Their customer service is junk and not helpful at all."
"I decided to write a review for this company since there seems to be so many negatives and I almost didnt purchase from them because of it. I didnt have much of a choice since they were 1 of the few where I could find the wine cooler I was looking for. I was very skeptical but the order process was very easy and I was able to find a coupon code for the company. I placed the order Thurs. 11/29/12 and received order confirmation right away. Received a shipping confirmation by the next day and received the product Tues. 12/4/12. It was a decent price and am very happy with my purchase so far though I never had to contact the company about anything. This is a Xmas gift and I prefer not to unpackage the whole thing to make sure its functioning properly but they say they have a 30 day return policy."
"My worst online shopping experience ever.I placed an order and got it confirmed. Nothing happened afterthat and I had to contact "customer service" to find out thatapparently there was a discrepancy with my credit card information. The person promised to resubmit the order after back checking with the accounting department and to call and confirm within one business day - again, nothing happened. I needed this particular item and called again to redo the order -wonderful, it will work now - so I thought.The person taking the order put in the wrong delivery address!"Customer Service" told me that they might be able to fix it but maybe not, that it was best for me to contact FedEx. The tracking number I was given was wrong. After all this hassle the item finally arrived and was luckily ok.I can only imagine what kind of a horror it would be to return an item to this outfit. "
"I ordered a safey gate for my grandchild, and after installing it, it was way to flimsy to be safe. Plus it wasn't user friendly. I returned the item and it cost me $22.00 to return the item and hayneedle.com was unwilling to give any cash back towards the shipping fees. The item cost was $47.00."
