"Hey, I just downloaded and installed a s/w program from Handango within the last hour. Everything went very smoothly and I received my registration code in under a minute after completing the purchase.

But, geez! From looking at the reviews here, I hope I never need to contact customer service and I also hope I only got billed ONCE!

So far, though, I have to say I'm satisfied because I haven't run into any problems. HOWEVER, I most definitely WILL edit this review should I experience any problems in the future."

"It was very easy. Handango is a good company. I didn't have any problems, I got the products I ordered right away. Handango is the best shareware-reseller I have found."

"My advice for if you do need to contact their customer support. Once you reach someone, hold on to their contact info. The worse part about contacting them is they don't hire enough people and you end up waiting in a long queue."

"I bought Sim City Metropolis and it did not work completely well on my Omnia II. The game works fine but the manuveuring is retard. Asked for a refund they ask to go to EA mobile for support. Wrote to them again they simply ignore. I bought almost 10 softwares and games from them. This is the first time i encountered problem and asked for refund. That will be my last. REFUND?? - just another of scummy marketing gimmick. And when they can't reason you, you walk away. That's their support. Forget handango. Purchase from the original software site is a much wiser choice. I bought from SPB previously and they refund me outright when it failed on my old device. Running an online business they completely forgot about online. I'm going to facebook and blog this horrible experience.

Update 16 Dec: after a week I suddenly received an email from them and paypal that I was refunded. I'm a little skeptical because I never hear anything from them regarding the refund. No response from them at all. I wonder if it's due to the reviews I submitted online. Anyhow, to be fair to them, I'm updating this review. The rest will be emptor caveat."

"Handango wouldn't allow you post a review with a poor rating. They have such a long list of restriction in writing a review, your review wouldnot be posted if you are not a happy patients. Do not turst the reviews on their web site. I would not recommend to shop there either."

"I have purchased several items and the experience was OK. I even obtained a refund without too much difficulty. The basis for my purchases were mostly influenced by the "customer reviews". None of the purchases came close to having the virtues extolled by the reviews. On my last purchase the item was simply very bad hence I posted a negative review. Well guess what? that review never showed up. It would appear that they only post positive reviews and now I even suspect they may be "manufactured" or posted by those that have vested interest. Furthermore some software that are billed as new and/or improved have no reviews that are less than two years old. As an example look up ascendo photo and notice the last review is dated June 13, 2007."

"Handango's automated customer trouble ticket system helps track and resolve order and product problems. Still prefer ability to talk to someone, but follow up from Handango was timely and when product problem was not corrected refund was provided."

"Handango has become (may have always been) an unreliable retailer: I patronize them at arm's length. Their policies are unpublished and change without notice in whatever fashion maximizes their income at the expense of the buyers and developers. I have employed the Federal Fair Credit Banking Act to resolve issues with them on more than a few occasions."
