"I bought one groupon deal that was for a kevyn aucoinne eyelash curler and a kevyn aucoinne volume mascara. I didn't mind necessarily how long it takes them to ship orders... I have always loved groupon and they've always done me right. Except today. I received my package in the mail today. The eyelash curler was in the package but the mascara was not. I paid for BOTH ITEMS and I want nothing more or less than the items I purchased in the deal groupon advertised they had in stock. I emailed them and told them, I even took a picture of the packaging and item that was there. The reply email was I could send the curler back and get a refund or I could take a ten dollar credit. Seriously? Kevyn aucoinne mascara is expensive alone, not including the eyelash curler! Plus I want the curler! I just want groupon to fill and ship the full order that they offered and that I've already purchased! Ten dollars wouldn't buy a tube of kevyn's mascara! I've never had any problems with groupon but I do now! They screwed up by advertising a deal that they never had in stock to begin with. They are the one that shipped my order half filled without even letting me know which is only common courtesy! And they are the ones that want to screw me again by offering me ten friggin bucks credit! Really? The deal I purchased was closer to$40 . And why is it so hard to pull their big girl panties up and mail me the rest of my order? They don't have it in stock? Well that's false advertisement and they better find me some damn kevyn aucoinne mascara from somewhere and ship it to me BC that's the only way im going to be happy! "
"I like the website and the general idea behind it, but just like others here reported its quite hard to get decent dates when you buy a hotel or spa deal or whatever. I am a full time employee and I’m sorry but I cant do other dates than holidays or weekends and its almost impossible to book an offer and get an appointment on the weekend. For me thats shitty because they don’t tell you that you cant book weekends and you never know the free dates beforehand. Really frustrating!! In case I don’t find like an amazingly good offer, I will probably be not too tempted to use it anymore."
"Horrible customer service!! The groupon misrepresented the actual deal. It was for "a dental checkup with exam, x-rays, cleaning, and fluoride treatment" at Ocoee Dental Care P.A. The company was just horrible. They refused to give me a cleaning or exam unless I paid them another 30 dollars even though the groupon said that these services were included. They told me they would brush my teeth for me after taking the X-rays without using any dental equipment. If I wanted them to use dentist equipment I needed to pay them the 30 dollars in addition to the groupon. They claimed that in the small print it is written that an "extra $30 fee may apply for a more complete exam depending on patients condition." However I had no condition that required anything other than what the groupon stated. When I called groupon they told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold for 20 minutes. When I finally reached someone they told me that there was nothing they could do because of the small print, even though I explained the situation and told them that I did not want a more complete exam- I only wanted what was advertised on the groupon. They told me they would look into it and get back to me. I never heard anything from them. Groupon does not advocate for consumers in any way. Buy a groupon at your own risk. I paid $39 and did not recieve the service stated."
"Groupon Goods Review:I purchased two peacoats and the items shipped ONE MONTH to ship. That is pretty bad. I contacted them about the status of the order like 3 weeks in and they replied to me apologetically and gave me $5 credit for the issue. Then on the day the items shipped from the warehouse, I received an official email from them that, probably was sent to everybody who purchased the item and had to wait, and received $25 Groupon credit. After this I wasn't that mad at the delay anymore.At the end, after trying them on and realizing that they messed up a color from the peacoats I decided to return them. Giving them a phone call is quick, you don't need to wait even 5 minutes for somebody on the other end to pick up. The person on the other end said he would issue me the return and shipping labels by email.I waited a couple of days for the email but never received them, so I had to make a second call soon since the return window was closing. The representative I spoke with sent them to me instantly. I shipped the items free and later on got refunded for only one of them. I checked both tracking numbers and found out that one of them couldn't show in the map. I called customer service and told them that I sent both of them and only got one refunded, and I had the shipment receipt to prove that I shipped it. No needing to send her the shipment receipt, she issued me a refund promptly.Lastly, the first representative that I talked to sent me the shipping labels that I had asked for and apologized for the delay to send them and that he only worked on specific days of the week, therefore he sent the email four days after the call.I can't say that I had a bad experience, but I like the easy phone calls, the free returns, and the groupon credit for acknowledging their mistakes."
"I purchased cleaning service, spent $316.00 for 4 house cleanings. Found out I was not in their service area, so they told me to ask Groupon for a refund. Groupon will not refund and told me to give it away as a gift. It is now expired and I don't know anyone in their service area. They won't even give a credit to buy something different. I know the merchants do not get paid until they actually do the service so Groupon is the one who keeps the money. This is so dishonest and such a scam. They are making thousands of dollars on deals that are not honored. I will never purchase another Groupon again."
"I am so disappointed with the your customer service. I have used Groupon for years and only recently had a very negative experience. I paid $400 for a $800 photobooth to use at my wedding. When I contacted the vendor, he told me he was already booked that day and to ask Groupon for a refund. When I contacted Groupon, they told me it was in the fine print and they would not give me any refund. They suggested I gift the groupon to someone else. $400 is a lot of money, especially when planning a wedding. As a marketer I have recommended clients do Groupon promotions to gain awareness and build an audience. Since Groupon do not look out for the customer or the business involved, I will no longer recommend or use them. "

"Ive purchased numerous items from them they do take forever to ship then you have to wait weeks to receive your item.Another thing its lame you cant cancel your items if its been longer than 3 hours.Fine print if you dont want it you cant return it if its FINAL SALE so beware!Then if you wanna cancel your order after 3 hours you're screwed they do the stupid shit of"makes a great gift"bullshit and you are stuck with what you changed your mind on.Other than that they do good discounts I've only bought the "goods" never vacation stuff or hotel stays so I cannot say anything about that.Shipping is free over $15 but if you are patient and can wait it's not that bad."
"Groupon either misrepresented their deal value with Frankenmuth Brewery and/or they falsely advertised the price of the product. They claimed a value of $33 for a case of beer that was being sold at $20 to anyone visiting the brewery. The premium cae of beer that is $33, Frankenmuth Brewery will not allow you to use the Groupon certificate. Then, the value of the food voucher ended up being lower than what was advertised ($15). I paid $24 for the voucher, plus $24 for case with Tax and Deposit. The discount on the bill was $37. This nets $13 (37-24), and not the $15 advertised for at least the food discount. This is the third time Groupon has screwed me and the last."
"Well I have to disagree with the positive reviews like clarice. They are either lucky or got paid for a favorable review. Anyway I ordered a cover for my iPad and did not notice that they took over 2 and a half weeks just to ship the damn thing out. I emailed them a couple of days after I ordered to cancel and they refused. They told me that they have 2 and a half weeks to ship. I asked them that if the item wasn't shipped why can't they just cancel it and WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO SHIP!! Order was placed March 23 and it is now April 3. Well they just kept giving me the runaround and I still after 1 and a half weeks have not received the item. Terrible customer service. Buyer Beware."
"I wanted to write this because I realize most people tend to report on issues that are negative. I think it's important to let others know about issues that are resolved positively. I too had a problem with scheduling an appt very similar to others listed here. At first I received the same response (give to someone as a gift). So I elaborated - giving a detailed explanation, and was immediately refunded. My faith in Groupon restored and coming from a customer service background wanted to remind others that you should remember that while you may know what you are trying to convey in an email - but what comes across may be interpreted differently. Make sure your message is clear and thorough."
"Like some of the other reviewers I have only purchased local restaurant coupons from them. They have all been good deals and saved me money. From other reviews I would not purchase items from them or resort deals. Most of the resort deals are for resorts that have less than stellar reviews, and they inflate the prices to make it appear you are getting a good deal."
"I have to disagree with most reviews here. Like windbite I have obviously been lucky with Groupon up until now. Their deals have saved me loads of money but I can only say this for the deals for restaurants and other services cos I’ve never ordered any products or anything. I’m really pleased with their service. Hope it stays that way. "

"I have used Groupon until Living Social and Amazon Local had beat them for the deals prices and customer service. I purchased a massage and chiro consult on Feb 4th, valid until May 5th. The vendor has no evening or weekend availability (apparently for Groupon customers only) I then called them as a "private customer" and, lo-and-behold, they found an evening spot for me or a Saturday, whichever I wanted. After explaining all that to Groupon's, so called, "customer service", I got a run around telling me that if I could not use the massage myself "Groupon makes a great gift". I explained that no one I would give it to would actually take a day off to get a massage because everyone I know works for a living and the vendor does not offer schedule compatable with most people's work schedules. I got the same type of email again, this time from the "supervisor". So I gave up and made an appointment for early morning one weekday, however, when booking was confirmed the massage therapist was a male. They dont have female therapist. Period. I dont feel comfortable with that, so I cancelled appointment, and contacted Groupon again, asking to get a voucher refund in Groupon Bucks, so I could use it on another deal. They have not replied back at all. Amazon Local and Living Social both offer money back protection if a vendor does not work out. Groupon does not. No wonder their popularity is waning. I hope they go out of business alltogether!"
