I ordered two Canon cameras, the SD750 and SD950. I received an email saying that they received the order and would be shipping soon. The site also said that they were in stock. Then I received a call to "verify" the order. I was told that the SD750 was out of stock and the SD950 could only be purchased as a package with lots of extras. They wanted to sell me memory, batteries, etc. I immediately canceled the entire order as they just wanted to give the hard sell to me to buy extras.

I had ordered a Canon - A400/IP3000KIT 3.2 MegaPixel Digital Camera and PIXMA Photo Printer Kit. The order went thro' and I got a e-mail confirming the order and saying that I will soon receive a shipping confirmation mail.
Since then, it's been nearly two weeks and quite a few calls to the CSR. Today I get a e-mail stating that they couldn't fulfill my offer and so cancelled it.
If they didn't have it in stock, they shouldn't have accepted it in the first place.
I really needed the camera to present it to someone. If they had informed me earlier of the camera being out of Stock, I would have gone for other deals.
Crappy CSRs too. Not polite the least bit.

Excellent Price for a projection TV with NO SHIPPING Charge! Correct product was shipped and had no defects. I would used them again.
Three things you need to know however:
1) They will charge you tax if you live in a state that has CompUSA Store (see http://www.thegoodguys.com/compusa.asp?refer=pcusa1nav)
2) Checking your shippment through con-way doesn't work if you just click on the link that goodguys.com sends you. Rather you have to: (a) go to http://www.con-wayair.com (b) under Fastrac select shipper reference number and then (c) enter the order number you got from goodguys.com
3) The free shipping is ground shipping so its going to take awhile (e.g about 10 days for me) before you get your product. This review was modified by its author, rjtc, on

Two things -
It is not obvious on their website that due to CompUSA relationship, they charge sales tax to all states with CompUSA stores.
The tax rates they use are incorrect. For example, they were charging 6.95% which is incorrect for this city/state.
Lastly, their phone CSRs were not overly knowledgeable or helpful regarding this matter.

Ordered a Konica Minolta DiMAGE F100 4.0 MP Digital Zoom Camera on April 13th. I received a confirmation email later that day. I got an email from them with a tracking number on the 19th - 6 days later. Package arrived at my house on the 26th; shipped from Oregon - took a LONG time, 7 days! So I received my camera 13 days after ordering it. The camera works great and I got a good deal on it. But it took forever for them to get the package to me. I don't mind that it took so long except that they never told me it would take nearly half a month. They need to advertise how long it takes. They also changed their policy and charged me tax on my order. I was told by a friend that they were recently bought by CompUSA, so that might explain it. Overall they did okay, but you'll be waiting a long time if you select free shipping. Even if you pay for express shipping, I wouldn't expect your package for at least a week (they say it takes 3-5 days for your order to leave the warehouse).

Ordered Kodak DX6490 on nov. 11. Nice webside very
easy to place the order. Took me about 5 min. to complete. That was the cheapest deal on the net $450.00 including everything. Camera arrived in 11

I have ordered my Sony DCR PC330 through online with free shipping and got it in 8 business days.
Transaction was smooth.
When i contacted customer service regarding one missing accessory(2 AA Batteries) they asked me to contact sony and they said they are not responsible for missing accessories.
Customer Service is not good.

I had checked their rating here prior to purchasing and was a little aprehensive to order thru them but the camera (Canon EOS 10D) was very hard to find ANYWHERE so when I saw they had the camera "in stock" I decided to give them a try. The rep who took my order "Jamie", said they had (12) units in stock when I placed my order and although they were going fast, he thought I had a pretty good chance of getting one. Well he was exactly right, I placed my order on a Wednesday, it shipped out on the following Monday and I received it on Thursday. Free shipping, no sales tax and I received a $100.00 instant coupon at the time of order.

Very pleased with my online purchase. With 10% discount, the price for the Olympus C-50 Zoom 5MP digital camera was well below local retailers, even the Good Guys stores themselves. As an added bonus I didn't pay sales tax or shipping. I figure my total savings over a local retailer was $100. On the down side, they don't take online purchase returns through their local stores, but so far no problems with the product.
I first ordered this camera through the horrible digitalliquidators.com, then checked here to read about the horror stories. I immediately cancelled that order and am glad I did. My purchase through Good Guys was a breeze.

No tax ANYWHERE -as per their homepage,
should have alerted me to
the type of vender
that I was dealing with.
They obfuscate (answer as though they "missunderstand" your complaint).
They pass the buck to a shipping company -
Con-Way Air.
Con-way Air gives out a phone number that can't be dialed from the East Coast, or promises to return your call, but doesn't.
I purchased a 20" Wega for a 90 year old woman who lives in Florida with the proviso that "WHITE GLOVE SERVICE" would be provided.
(BTW: They solicited the service-$99-
an agreement to open the box,
place the TV where the customer chooses
and remove the packing)
A contract delivery service:
FLX (Fort Lauderdale Express)
placed the box
in front of the Lady's bedroom door
and refused to open the package
or put the TV where she asked.
I contacted Goodguys' "Tell it to the boss",
and received one obfuscation from "Joey".
I received a 2nd email from "Joey Parker"
after I informed him that the box blocking the Lady's egress was a DANGEROUS safety hazzard to
a Senior Citizen with poor eyesite and brittle bones.
"Joey" replied that he would
"contact con-way and have them send
another driver out to complete".
Well, no-one arrived and sure enough
the lady fell over the box this A.M.
and suffered an injury.
I'll probably be sued,
and you can bet your bippy I'll cooperate
with her lawyer so he can reach
"GoodGuys" deep pocket.
You might not want to order from "Goodguys",
other than C.O.D,
until they discharge any pending suits.

Purchased 27" TV. All went well. Got 10% discount.. no tax, no shipping. I hadn't read the negative feedback here prior to ordering.. which might have affected my decision.. Terrible service!! I ordered the Canon S45 (like the previous post) for an awesome price. $549 - 10% discount and free shipping. I thought I had found a great deal, but it didn't turn out that way.
Waited a few hours for an e-mail confirmation and did not receive one. Finally called GoodGuys to ask them to verify my email address, and of course, they spelt it wrong. They fixed it, but still no email confirmation. After a few days and two phone calls, still didn't get an email confirmation.
Called to see how my order was going, and the rep said that the camera was out of stock. The person I ordered the camera from said that there were 2 left, and that they will ship it the next day. Well, I guess he lied!! So anyways, ended up canceling my order and went to bhphoto.com and paid an arm and a leg for shipping, but at least I know I will get my camera soon (since I will be needing it for a trip!).
Stay away from goodguys.com if you're ordering something you need sooon!! Customer service sucks and they're just really CLUELESS!!

HORRIBLE ORDER FULFILLMENT!!! Ordered a Canon S45 from their website on the 2nd and it said "Usually leaves our warehouse in 2-3 days". Well, that's very misleading.
Yesterday I called and the rep I spoke to said that my order would be shipped that night. Well I never received a confirmation so I follow-up again today.
The rep tells me that they have had so many orders for this product that they cannot fulfill them all, which is why the product was taking off their website. He then tells me that my camera MAY have shipped yesterday, but he's not sure.
I ask him if I could cancel my order and he says sure, "as long as the item hasn't shipped". But he just told me it "might" have shipped yesterday. Hmmmmm...
Anyways, I cancelled my order an ordered from onecall.com instead. They had glowing reviews and I didn't doubt that I would receive the product I ordered.
Also, the goodguys.com is a completely different company from the storefront. You cannot return items to a local goodguys that you purchased online.
Buyer beware!!!

If you want your order quick, don't purchase here. I am still waiting for my order to be shipped. I tried calling them to find out when my order would be shipped out. Waited 10 minutes on the first call, then gave up and called a second time. Waited 5 minutes and gave up. Called up again later. Someone picked up the phone.
