"I bought a domain for our wedding from Go Daddy. I could ACTUALLY CALL and talk to a human, even though I only spent $10.99 at their store. They have really helpful customer service (a little bit technical at times and I didn't understand). Pretty good investment in my opinion - strongly recommend them."
"What can I say? GoDaddy is the biggest, but that doesn't make them the best. I only own a few domains, but I generally purchase them from Godaddy and transfer to another host at a later date. I transferred all my domains when they supported SOPA. The fact that they reversed their stance when tens of thousands of customers started bailing out only proves that they value money above all else, to include political principles. Even before that I didn't like GoDaddy as a company for all the objectifying commercials they put out. Do they really think men as a whole are so simple-minded that a half naked woman is going to cause someone to buy a domain name? A nudie magazine, yes. But a domain name? C'mon."
"I love Godaddy. Everything is well thought for novice users on their website. One time i made a mistake in forgeting to cancel a free trial service, and they helped me out and cancelled my charge"
"After having been a long time customer I found godaddy's customer service to be abysmal. If you never have any problems or concerns then they are ok, other than constantly hounding you to buy more of their junk services. But should you ever have any problems, they don't care nor do they even respond to customer dissatisfaction. They literally ignore your concerns. I get the feeling these people would be running a used car lot if they ever got out of the domain business. "
"I only use GoDaddy for domain registrations and renewals, because I found it best practice to separate domain and hosting companies. For domains, they are a reliable and reasonably priced company (after coupons, which you can easily google). I wouldn't use them for hosting, but they may have gotten better in that area."
"I've noticed that many of the negative reviews are from customers who either forgot they signed up for a service or lost their password/email/etc. How can they blame godaddy for something that's their fault? And yes, godaddy makes money off sitting domains, but you can put up a blank page if you don't like that until you put up an actual site. I've used godaddy on and off for at least 3 years, and I can tell you that their hosting is unmatched in both price and up-time. I use them for a small business website and multiple domains and never had any problems. You do not have to sign up for something you don't need, and if you do, you can easily cancel it. The only thing I wouldn't do is use them to lookup domains. Look them up somewhere else and use godaddy when you know what you want. "
"Conducts what I consider as deceptive and surreptitious practice of using customer's domain for own advertising revenue. Actually charges customer a fee if the want part of revenue. "
"I think in the realm of online everything, GoDADDY Rocks. I host my domians with them, they are really a great company to work with. My account manager is always very helpfull."
"I have one site that GoDaddy.com hosts for $3.95 a month. They've hosted my site since 2004 and I've not had a problem since then. My site is a personal site with very little traffic."
"re order 78254294BEWARE of the domain privacy scam. this is the "service" that lets u conceal ur whois info.the problem lies in that if u lose access to the email address u provided for the whois, ur screwed in being able to update key aspects of the domain, transfer it to another registrar, or even remove the privacy "service" altogether.u either have to keep renewing the domain with the extra fee for the privacy "service" when its no longer needed, or u have to let the domain expire and hope u can grab it up again.the whois privacy "service", along with godaddy's refusal to let me out of it, is nothing more than a shake down."
" Godaddy, heard so many good things about this place, so in 2006, as a joke, i made a quick website for a friend. I figured, hey, what's $15 for a one time thing. WRONG! Two years later I'm rebilled for the domain I forgot I even made. I call in to get a refund and am told that I need some customer PIN# and to call back as soon as I get that number. Couldn't figure it out, so I decide as soon as I get back from vacation that I will get it all straightened out. Fast forward a week or so, figure it all out, call them back, talk to one guy, who is too busy to sit and wait for my dialup connection. Finish his instructions, call back and am finally told that I'm screwed out of twenty bucks because there is a five day window. Never being told about a five day window before. BEWARE. I have been with the same company for 8 years and decided to use this company once and get screwed out of $20. And when I ask to speak to a supervisor, am told sorry, those are the rules, you're screwed. So yeah, as big as this company is, AM NOT HAPPY!"
