"This makes the 4th computer I have purchased from Gentech. This is the first Laptop. This experience, like the previous ones has been excellent. They provide good information on their website, but more importantly, they can and do augment that information by answering all my questions on the phone. What is so appealing is the machines I receive from them are always better than what I think I am buying. Even more appealing is the service I have received. Though it is not 24/7, it is responsive. I rarely have to wait on hold, and if they are very busy, they take my number and REALLY do call back!!!! NO question about it, when I buy a computer it will be from them."

" I ordered A Asus Z8000k Laptop from these guys the store front is www.gentechpc.com (for complete systems) but if you buy barebones or parts the redirect you to http://1toppc.com . Its the same company though. Anyway everthing went well cept for the fact that they didn't update thier order status screen I finaly called 7 days later after I ordered it and 3 days after they charged my CC & they said it shipped the day after I ordered it, no one updated the status page or e-mailed me!
A oversight for sure! I got it the next day on the doorstep free shipping. For right before X-mas cross country took 8 days from the day I ordered it, not too bad. Everthing is what I paid for and other than the no update or e-mail everthing went fine.

P.s When I did call the customer service they were very friendly & helpful & e-mailed me A invoice with A tracking number, as well as updated my processing page."

"Notebook computers (NBs) are essential to my work. I always like (or try) to have the latest technologies. I have an IBM-T31(SXGA), a Fujitsu- P7010 (mini-WXGA), a Toshiba-M200 (Tablet-SXGA), a Dell-700M, a Dell-D600 and built an Asus6000N and a generic 12.1"WXGA in the last 18 months or so. I have also upgraded all these “name-brand” computers, e.g., changing CPU, HD, optical drives, memories.
Based on my experience with these NBs, Asus600N is, perhaps, the best when considering its display (15.1SXGA), battery life, etc. However, it is slightly on the heavy side for long travel. Thus, I use my Fujitsu and Toshiba for my long-term out-of-office usages. On the other hand, I really do NOT enjoy my Dell600 and 700M, e.g., poor battery life, USB ports in these two NBs do not have enough power to drive an external portable 2.5”HD, etc.
Since I have had 6000N for about a year, I’ve been looking for a new NB and found AsusZ71V with the specs (15.4WSXGA, 533/400 CPU, duel-channel 533 MEM) that I want. I went ahead to order one barebones on-line.
Mr. Ken Lee called me to verify info on the next working day. I “accidentally” asked him if he could provide me installation instructions while I really did not expect him to respond. (I spent some time and effort to find “instructions” when I put together my 6000N.) Surprisingly, Ken emailed me the instructions in about 10-15 minutes. I really appreciated his response which saved me a lot of time and efforts.
The NB came in a week, via free-shipping. Following instructions, I put CPU, MEM, HD in. The machine wakes up and runs without any problem, with Windows disk. I love it very much. Overall, it is an excellent computer. My sincere thanks to KEN.
There are two issues that you may want to pay extra attention when you put together Z71V. 1) The default speed switch is “533MHz”. You need to switch “up” for 400MHz CPU. 2) For HD assemblage and connector to NB, you need to attach HD to HD fixture (4 screws on back) before connect to NB.

"Gentech is a dedicated and great laptop distributor. I ordered 3 Asus S96J's on September 1st and they were built and delivered by September 13th. This was my second order placed through Gentech. I loved my first S96J so much I decided to order 3 more for family members. Talking with Ken Lee, a very friendly sales rep at Gentech was always a pleasure, and he is very dedicated to customer service. About a month prior to purchase, I had called to ask his advice about future pricing on the upcoming Core Duo 2, Merom processor, and he advised me to wait because in a few weeks I could receive a similarly priced product with greater power (honesty appreciated). When merom was finally released, Ken gave me a call to inform me and insure that I would be among the first to receive a laptop with this new processor. Honestly, Gentech makes you feel like a VIP customer all the time. The pricing is great, and everything else is just what you would ask for in a company you are making a major purchase from. I will definately rely on Gentech for all my computing needs in the future. Thanks again Ken and Gentech.

UPDATE: 9/25/2007
Approximately a year or so later after this purchase, one of the laptops was having trouble powering on. After troubleshooting it myself, I concluded it was a motherboard issue. I had been contacting Ken at Gentech about this issue for a few days prior to diagnosing the issue and he had insisted I send it in for him to have a look at. Long story short, I just received the laptop back in perfect working order, and also a fantastic turn-around time taking into account the parts had to be ordered from Asus and the model is discontinued. How Gentech does not have a perfect 10 rating is a mystery! Honestly, Gentech has the best customer service I have ever experienced or dealt with. Much can be attributed to Ken Lee, whom if you've interacted with, you know is a five star salesman. "

"First off, let me start off by saying that I have been looking a long time for "the right laptop" for my fiance. I looked all over and I definitely have to say, I came to the right place. Gentech has the greatest assortment of ASUS laptops around. On top of that, they have VERY competitive prices! And as if it could not get better, their customer service is second to none! I talked to a very amazing person at Gentech that is known to many, and his name is Ken. He was able to help me as if I was his only customer. He made me feel like my purchase was important to him! On top of that, my fiance came in from school for only 2 days, and he made sure that the laptop would get to me on time. I have never had a better experience with another company than I did with Gentech. The laptop came in no time at all, and they really do package the laptop in 2 boxes, and not cheaply either. They know how to take care of a customer, which now a days, is EXTREMELY hard to come by. My fiance fell in love with her laptop, and that feeling could not make me feel any better, and I have no one else to thank but Gentech PC, so, "THANK YOU GENTECH AND KEN!". So if you are wondering if this website is worthy enough to buy from, trust me because I am a cautious buyer, and I did my studying, this is the place to buy your laptop!"

"I have ordered asus G73JW-A1 laptop from GenTech by wire transfer. As I live in Russia I very much worried about laptop delivery. Manager Ken Lee quickly and operatively informed on the status of the order and was always polite. My parcel has reached customs for 9 days (from November, 30th till December, 8th) and already on December, 13th I have received it on the mail. The parcel has been very reliably packed also all has reached without breakages. It is incradably awesome! :) I so became glad that i have bought my laptop in GenTechPc. I think, that my next laptop in future I will buy in this shop only.
