"So it has been over two years since I bought my Asus M6BNe Notebook from gentech and I had been extremely content with it, until one day recently, damn, it shuts itself down. There is some kind of problem powering it back up and I am obviously pretty upset about it. What is even more upsetting is that it was just over the two-year warranty on the machine, so fixing it was now my problem. I took it to a small shop to have a free assessment done and was told something about a bad cooling problem and a possible short on the m/b relating to the fan not working, thereby making the machine overheat and shut itself down. I ordered a new fan and installed it myself hoping that might help (longshot) and still had the same problem. At this point, I decided to email Gentech hoping they might be able to fix it for me even if I had to pay for it since Asus brand notebooks use very specific parts. I received a response asking what my partucular problem was from one of the serice reps (his name was Ken and I have seen him all over posts on this board with much admiration toward his helping people). We talked over what the issues were and he seemed to think it may just be a RAM problem. I have two ram slots and two modules taking them up and so after trying the use of only one and not the other, I found my machine booted up just fine. I am in great debt to Ken and plan to not only do future business with him, but send whatever other business I can his way. Thanks again for your help Ken.

"What a super company to deal with. As a person who has been in customer service for many years i have to say that Gentech is as good as it gets. I ordered 5 laptops as my first order and they followed up all the way through the process and after delivery. It was very nice to deal with someone who is willing to treat you the way you expect to be treated, They have my busisnes!...."

"It was very hard to find what I was looking for at a great price, but I did at GenTech. I bought an Asus G1 Laptop from them a few days ago and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. Ken, who was the person to contact me to confirm my order was extremely helpful with all my questions and was a real pleasure to deal with. I am looking forward to receiving my order, and will certainly recommend this website to other. A real class act. Thanks!

"WARNING, PLEASE READ THIS!!! WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY FROM A LAPTOP FROM THIS SITE!!!

I recently purchased a laptop from GenTech computers (www.1toppc.com). The laptop came pretty quickly and this is when I'll my problems started. First, the laptop crashed twice during installs of software. This wasn't any special type of software, just standard windows stuff. Second, the laptop would reboot for no reason. I talked to a gentech representative, and he said to send it back in.

Being a software contractor, I need my laptop for work or I loose money, so I asked if we could do a cross-ship (like their site advertised). Gentech refused to follow their own policy, however after some bitching, finally agreed. I received the 2nd laptop a couple of weeks later, and this time the arrow keys don't work. WTF?!! Now I have two laptops (and two charged on my credit card) both not working correctly. I immediatley sent the 2nd laptop back and asked that he cover shipping. Of course they denied my request to cover the shipping. So now I'm out money for 1st laptop, plus shipping charges for 2nd. Gentech is telling me that I should have tried to FIX my laptop, and this is the reason they wont pay for shipping. WTF? I'm supposed to fix a brand new laptop?

Now Gentech is refusing to do another cross-ship (which they know is the only possibility because of my job). So I'm now stuck with a laptop that reboots and crashes. I'm now out money for 1 laptop, 1 shipping, and 1 service repair charge at a local store to diagnose and fix.

If your 'lucky', and get a good laptop from this site, then I'm happy for you. If you get one with a defect, like I did, WATCH OUT! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER OR DOING THE RIGHT THING, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY. Sad... very sad..."

"Ken, and the great people at GenTech were great during the whole ordering process. I even had some problems running a credit card and they were more than patient and willing to help.

I bought bare bones item and Ken provided me with some great information, even on items I didn't order from him. They really take the time and extra effort to make sure your questions are answered. "

"After ordering an ASUS G73jh-A2 from another reseller and told the wait would be close to 2 months, I emailed gentech inquiring about their wait time for this highly sought after laptop. Ken's estimate was about 3-4 weeks which is way better than 2 months. I immediately canceled my order with the other reseller and placed one with Gentech. I was expecting to wait the full month for delivery especially since I had some upgrades that needed to be put into the laptop. Suprisingly got an email 9 business days later that my laptop had shipped! Needless to say I am very pleased with the service and how fast they are able to get your order out the door! Thank you Gentechpc"

"I work with several Internet Resellers as a PC Hardware Purchaser. I have tried (and moved on from) many more.

Some Internet Resellers work well on price. Some not so well, but helpful with service. It is rare to find one with both.

Ken Lee at GenTech has been very responsive and our relationship a mutually profitable one. He has been responsive with respect to technical advice as well as service."

"I ordered an ASUS Z63A for my father. He needed it within the week, and GenTech did a great job of putting the system together quickly. Their customer service has been great, and the laptop itself is top notch. Their prices are also some of the best I found in my extensive search through every major US ASUS distributer. I would order from them again in a heartbeat."

"Used these guys for the first time last week, I was in a real pinch because another retailer did not deliver, so I had a must have date in order to meet my business needs. I contacted them numerous times checking on the shipment of my package. I was always greeted with rapid responses and professionalism. There was a minor problem but when I contacted them they were quick to fix the problem. They delivered everything I ordered in good working order and on time. Their prices were also very good. I will use these guys again."

"GenTechPC is by far one of the best stores I have encountered. Their services are top-notch and their products are of excellent quality.

Purchasing/Ordering is very easy and safe. Their customer service is amazing- every little detail is addressed profesionally. So far I have had a great experience as their customer.
