Ordered an Asus G51J-A1 notebook from Gentech PC. I ordered it last Thursday, October 29 . It still hasn't come, despite me ordering it at 11 a.m. on that day. I thought that if I had placed the order before noon, it would be shipped out that same day, or AT LEAST the very next day.
But I guess Gentech PC sucks.
If my notebook doesn' t come in tomorrow, then I'm just going to see if I can cancel the order. But probably not, because they suck.
Oh yeah, btw. It says on their site that it takes 3-5 business days to ship. It should've already been here by now. Now I'm stuck with an old overheating laptop, and I'm going out of town tomorrow without a laptop.
Anyways, so I call today and ask where my laptop is or what the status is, and the foreign lady tells me that I should expect my laptop in about Monday or Tuesday of NEXT WEEK. This effectively would make the shipment take TEN DAYS.
So I was like "Why??" And she said that it was out of stock and they had to pre-order it. THE SITE STATES THAT IT WAS IN STOCK.
So Ken calls me on my cell. But I was away from the phone. So I call him back. It rings like 16 times. I hang up.
So I have to expect the laptop to ship 3-4 days late, play phone tag with foreigners and now I'm just sitting here wondering when I'm getting my stupid laptop. And to add on to that, I'm out around $1,400. WITHOUT MY LAPTOP. Bullshit, complete bullshit. Thanks Gentech for the awesome experience. I won't be buying from you guys again.
UPDATE:
Ken emailed me stating that he was very sorry and that they couldn't really control how the manufacturer keeps in stock their items and whatnot. I'll bump this review up positively. If everything goes well, this will actually be awesome customer service.

I have nothing to say but good things about this company. I ordered an Asus GX71GX-A1 on the Friday before Labor Day. I wasn't sure if it would arrive until after the holiday, but they shipped it out that night and it arrived Saturday morning. I quite like the fact they call you to verify your credit card information and to answer any questions. Besides giving a layer of security, it gives a personal touch that many online retailers don't have. I definitely recommend this company and I hope to do business with them in the future.
I purchased two Asus G51Vx-A1 laptop computers from GenTech.
I have purchased many computers in the past from other companies and I have never received the level of service that I have from Ken Lee at GenTech. He patiently took my many questions and responded usually within minutes. He gave me a high level of confidence in the company and the type of service I would receive and I have not been disappointed.
He gave me an estimated time for the computers to be assembled and sent and the company followed through and sent the computers just as he said.
When you purchase an item like this you want to know that you will not be abandoned by the company. GenTech stands behind what they sell.
If there was a rating scale I would give them the top rating in all categories of service. This will definitely not be the last transaction I have with GenTech. I am very pleased!
Amazing service, never dealt with such great service in my life. I recommend anyone who's interested in buying a laptop to buy from them. Dealt with them for a month or so and answered every question I had.

GenTech is the best company I have ever dealt with for buying notebooks. I'm talking about the whole 9 yards: pre-sales, sales, support, etc. They don't abandon you after the purchase. Their e-mail response time is very fast - usually within minutes. Ken Lee is very courteous and professional. This was my first purchase from GenTech. Rest assured, there are more to come.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! After waiting for two weeks for J & R to have the 1000HE in stock, I gave up and started looking elsewhere, eventually finding gentech computers. I ordered the netbook and received it very quickly. This is my first experience with gentech but I'll definitely be shopping there in the future.

I purchased a Notebook Computer from GenTech and found the company to be both Professional and Customer Friendly, an unexpected pleasure these days. Ken, a GenTech Sales Representative was extremely helpful. I highly recommend GenTech.
I am a soldier in Iraq. I ordered an Asus G70S-A1. As expected they were out of stock, it is a pretty decently priced laptop for what you get in the laptop. I was unable to check on the status of my order other than the few emails i sent. I emailed the support guys about my situation and a guy named Ken emailed me back and said he would keep track of the status of my order. I got anxious because of the time it was taking for my laptop to arrive. I emailed Ken and he reassured me that he was doing everything he could and when it got here he would email me. When the laptop arrived he emailed me and told me that it had arrived. This email was not the confirmation email it was him just letting me know it had arrived. The next day i got the confirmation email, telling me it had arrived and that it was shipped. This is the best service i have experienced when dealing with people online. After 15 months overseas i have dealt with alot of online companies. This company keeps track of there customers and makes sure they get what they want. I was very happy with them and plan on being a return customer. Thanks a lot for all your help.
I have purchased a total of 4 laptops from GenTechPC over the course of the last year and a half or so. If I never need a new product or help with a product I know exactly where to go.
The customer support is the strongest that I have ever dealt with on any online company. Once you buy a notebook from here you pretty much just made a friend. Thats exactly how they treat you like a personal friend. No rudeness, no "cookie cutter" automated responses, incredibly quick resolution to any problem, and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to assist you if the need arises.
I ran into Ken one of the employees of Gentech on the NotebookReview.com forums by chance, some of the forum members recommended this company to me, Ken had no problems exchanging about 15 emails with me to answer some questions I had before I even committed to purchase anything from them, I have also seen Ken call Asus for support on behalf of the customer many times. He will post things in the forums like beta bios that otherwise we would never have. Great little product reviews, and he is dead honest about everything. He has no problem saying "I really do not like this product, or would not recommend it" even tho thats the product he is selling.
So you get a company that holds customer support to the highest standard, no sales game gimmicks to sway you into buying something, some of the best prices on the net (only one or two times did I see anybody selling something cheaper and it was only a few $$$, and Asus itself makes some of the best products in my opinion when you do a price vs performance breakdown.

I just made the best decision I have ever made in deciding to purchase my new Asus G50 A-2 latop from Ken at GenTEchPC. Why? for a number of reasons: First, I needed to be able to customize the notebook how I wanted it--I was able to do that at GenTechPC. If I would have bought the computer elsewhere, I would have likely had to settle for a "watered down" pc in terms of hard drive, processing power, ram, etc. Throughout the entire transaction, Ken was extremely kind and supportive, answering all of my questions, and delivering the computer to me in a very timely manner considering the extent of upgrades. The other thing that is awesome about this company is that when you call them, you get to speak to real people, not machines. I performed weeks of research to obtain the “right” Laptop. I read reviews on a number of computers, and I decided on the ASUS G50V-A1 as my first choice laptop. I researched vendors and retailers then purchased it from GenTech Computers in Southern California. Without a doubt the main reason I went with GenTech was the outstanding customer service provided by Ken Lee. Over the course of 2 days Ken took the time and made the effort to address all my questions and concerns.
I live in California so I could have saved well over one hundred dollars if I had purchased the G50V from an out of state vendor that was not required to collect sales tax. In the end I bit the bullet and went with Ken at GenTech the additional cost was more than offset but the time and effort Ken provided.
My computer arrived in less than 48 hours in great shape and ready to go.
I have called Ken for support twice and true to form he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
I recommend Ken Lee and GenTech Computers to all considering the purchase of and ASUS computer.
