"I placed an order on 12/15/04 for a motherboard, cpu, and a fan, the order didn't ship till 12/22/04, luckly fedex was fast and got it to me the next day and when i opened up the motherboard box i found that the $105 i paid for a new motherboard, i got a dusty used board, well i didn't want to have to rma it and wait longer, so i tested it to see if it was good, it booted up and i installed windows, but then i found that all the pci slots were dead and the onboard sound didn't work, so i packed it back up and thats when i found out why those thing didn't work, there were 4 stickers on the bottom of the board marking where traces and been damaged, so i got rma for a refund and shipped it back on 12/27/04, fedex tracking shows it got back to them on 12/29/04, but thier website didn't list it received till 12/31/04, it is now 1/7/05 and nothing more has happened, i emailed them but they havn't replyed. i will NEVER use gameve agine, i'll stick with newegg from now on"

"RMA #3:
If you plan to keep the product, REGARDLESS of the condition, then order from this company. If ANY item is not as ordered, forget about any kind of customer service.

The fan on my 9800Pro video card failed, causing the card to overheat. I figured they couldn't screw this one up, so I sent it back. Nine days after they received it, I get an email stating that they cannot process the RMA because the serial number is missing from the card. When I called in they told me that it looks like the sticker was ripped off the card. Well, after digging through my original bags, I found the serial number sticker stuck to the static bag the card came in. Now I have to go through the manufacturer because some genius decided to place the sticker on the static bag, instead of leaving it on the card. Who knows how long it will take them to ship the card back to me so that I can spend some more money paying for their mistakes.

NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU EVER WANT TO RETURN ANYTHING!!!
-----

RMA #1:
I placed an order for a CD-RW/DVD combo drive and received just a CD-RW drive. No big deal, I thought, I'll just RMA it and get what I ordered. The drive was sent back ($7.50) with a note describing what the exact problem is. One week later I receive the SAME drive again! Maybe they'll send out the one I ordered the second time around.

The first time I ordered I had no problems; everything came as described, but watch out if you have to return something. Apparently the warehouse doesn't know how to get their heads out of their a***s.
----

RMA #2:
I placed an "advance replacement", but they received my return before I received the replacement. The drive was correct this time, except for the color. I ordered a black drive and received a beige drive. The color is not going to force me to go through all this again.

"Gigabyte x800 pro Vivo was showing as in stock. I ordered this. This card was showing as "Sent to Warehouse" for a day so when I called, I am told that this is out of stock. I asked why was this showing as in stock on the site and why was I charged if this is not in stock. Could not answer due to their poor English. Was told would be called back after they find out, this item should be in that day (Tuesday). Did not get a call back. However I was then charged and the order was cancelled when I was supposed to get a call back. I call again and once again, a rude, poor Ensglish speaking individual who was short and huffs and puffs. Can not answer question. Call again on Wednesday (July 21) and they say will check with Gigabyte. 2 hours go by, no call back. I call and no one knows of a call. I told them wanted immediate refund, they say it has been done dispite I was charged the day before when it was cancelled. Terrible."

"Our experience with this merchant was a complete failure and in short I was i never bought anything from them. I have copies of everything from the product page I ordered from, to the sales receipt to the delivery receipt, and in no way did any of it inform me in advance that the MOBO ( part of a mobo combo I ordered ) was on Back Order. Non of it.

Now and after the sale they have updated their site to say it is on Back Order. So I have a chip and no board.

To make things worst for them ( we will be suing them ) is the fact that we actually paid extra money for the order to be expedited.

So they took to the extra money to expedite the order and did not fulfill thiner obligation, nor did they ever contact me in any way to let me know about the MOBO.

I have tried about 20 times to reach them by phone and it is completely transparent that they only provide the number for customer service - they don't answer it.

In short, we will be suing this company for the disposition they have inflicted on our corporation, as well as theft by credit card and deceptive trade.

Any consumer would do well to avoid them like the plague.

“When you placed the order, our web says 'will ship 5-7 days'. We do have the motherboard today but limited quatities for whoever paid a rush fee. Your motherboard was scheduled to ship today. Our web as today says 'backorder', because we do not have any more stock for new order. You called this morning and chose to cancel your motherboard. We did not cancel your order. We can fullfill order definitely, not as what you mention on your comment. I can guarantee you that nobody else has this motherboard today. So if you still want it, give us a call today, not later, we can still save 1 piece for you. Thank you.”

"Ordered an ATI 9600XT VC. Got it just fine. Put in a new system and then set the system aside. Went back to fire the system up to give it as a XMas present and the VC died.

Got an RMA from GameVE ok. Sent it back on the 12th of December. Checked to see the status of the return and saw that they got it logged on 12/17 and returned it to ATI (saying they no longer carried it).

I've written now 2x asking why they didn't substitute another 9600XT instead of sending it to ATI, waiting for ATI to do something and then getting back to me (if that happens).

I've ordered 3x from them and 2x had to return items that were either doa or died. I suggest that one be careful about buying when RMA's are a potential challenge and you may be left holding the bag.

update: 1/9/05: After 3 emails they responded saying they no longer carried the 9600XT card and had to wait until ATI responded to them. I checked their site and GameVe did show one brand in stock and 3 or 4 others out of stock. I asked them why they didn't just send me another brand 9600XT. Several days later they sent an email showing they apparently are sending a replacement card.

Basically, they said that while there was a warranty it wasn't their responsibility to honor it...rather they go back to the manufacturer.

Not sure I would repurchase from them in the future given their approach to customer service."

“We bought this card on 02/12/04. You have been using this video card for 10 months. Now you found out the video card is bad, you requested an RMA with us, we received your card back on 12/17/04. On the RMA note, you said 'Would like an exchange for same please.'. Since we do not carry this card anymore, we do not have any stock to send you another one right the way, the best we can do is to get an replacement card from ATI, and then return it to you. We are not sure what is your dissatifaction?”

"These guys switched to a "ship only to billing address" policy effective Aug 16. When I placed my order on the 13th, I was glad to get in under the wire because my billing address is StatusFActory, my bill-pay service, which obviously is not where I want merchandise going. So today (17th) I get an email back chastising me & saying I need to fix this. After phone calls with GameVE operators dumber than a post, I cancelled my order. If these guys do not yet know bill-pay services exist, I would worry about all their accounting practices. What really steams me, though, is that they enforced their policy retroactively and made me wait 5 days with a dead computer before notifying me of their amazing display of customer service."

“we did not change anything because our policy states that we only ship to primary billing address of the credit card and if your primary billing address is a PO box then we could ship to an alternate address because fedex does not ship to PO box. please read our policy because policy is policy and it cannot be change due to any circumstances.”

"I still have not recieved the cpu that was suppose to ship with my order 11/25/04. 12/23/04 I am on my third customer service rep w/o confirmation of what happened. I ordered components to build a box for a friend and everything was sent except the cpu. I was assured twice it would be sent and nothing happened. Ride them if your items don't show up I have been far too lenient with this supplier. I am not immpressed.
Called again 28th they don't know the status and didn't contact me I had to call again. If you order from them pray that you get every thing because its like pulling teeth to get service. "

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"The first sign of a problem was that when I called their 1-800 number, I couldn't reach any of their employees. I called on different days at different times during their office hours. I decided to order anyways because of their good reviews.

I ordered a "XFX GeFORCE 6800GT 256MB DDR3 W/DOOM3 RETAIL", item number VC-XFX-025 on 12/27/04. It was "In stock: Usually ships within 1-2 business days." I used their "rush" ordering, which had to be ordered by noon and charged by 12:30. I ordered at 11:44am and my order didn't get charged until 24 hours later(I ordered from Newegg right after Gameve and that "rush" order shipped the same day.)

The status changed to "Order Shipped" at 4:44pm the day after I ordered and I got an e-mail confirming the status. The note said "Your XFX order will ship out from XFX warehouse by UPS 3 days. thanks - 92568." Since it said "Shipped" in big red lettering in my e-mail, I assumed all was alright, but I never got a tracking number.

It is now 1/4/05 and I still haven't gotten the item so I e-mailed about the item and got the response: "Your will get the tracking number shortly" That sounded like a bullcrap response so I called them for the 6th time and FINALLY got an answer. The guy said the item was backordered and that it won't ship until Thurs/Fri.

I wouldn't have known it was backordered if I didn't call them. Plus the item title and description (same item number) doesn't say anything about Doom3 so I will probably end up getting screwed when I they send me the card w/out Doom3.

I called them again and this time a woman answered the phone, she was very informative and cleared up all the confusion. She said that the Fedex warehouse gave them bad info on the stock. She also said that Gameve will ship the Doom3 seperately to those who ordered it. I need the card by Friday so I decided to replace my order with a similarly priced MSI 6800GT (no Doom3) which shipped the next day and took 2 days to get to me. It was in good condition."

“YOU PRODUCT SUPPOSED TO SHIP OUT BY XFX ON 12/28/04. WE WERE NOT INFORMED BY XFX THAT YOUR ORDER WAS DELAYED UNTIL 01/04/05. WE DO APOLOGIZE FOR THAT! WE DID SHIP THE MSI 6800GT TODAY, TRACKING NUMBER ALREADY EMAILED YOU. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!”
