"Purchased two items on a promotional interest free program. One was for 3 years and the other for 1 year. Their Fry's Credit Card Billing is a basic ripoff. This is how they make their money. Guess they figure that most will not comply with the terms. However, I thought I had paid off the 1 year item on time. On the last statement, they added a little fine print stating that if you pay off the item you MUST also pay the minimum monthly charge for the other 3 year item. They have now charged me the full interest on the 1 year item PLUS INTEREST for the month on the INTEREST. This was all done because I didn't pay the $14 minimum paymet along with the payoff of the other item.

Never Ever shop at Fry's or God help, if you decide to purchase an item with their interest free promo. Their rate is 26.99% but their billing statements are very confusing and not clear. Their "Notices" on the statements are not consistant."

"Ordered a $4500.00 piece of equipment on Sunday...verified ALL information. They deliberately held up my order and did not ship out until Tuesday. This cost me the JOB that I freaking needed the equipment for. This company is crap!!!!!"

"I think a rating of one star is too high for the service warranties. I had a camera go out just after standard warranty and Fry's sent it out for service. It took around 4 months to get my camera back with numerous calls. Then when it came back there was a big thumb print on the inside of the display they replaced. I waited to calm down before I returned it in just to have the screen cleaned...3 months later it still isn't back. Refuse any extended warranties and get one elsewhere!"

"I bought a laptop from this company in store. I have been getting items from here for years.... The first issue was that I went to go get a processor for an old motherboard. I bought the item, went home and unpacked it. It had fingerprints all over it and the book was missing along with the Intel sticker. I hauled my butt back to fry's and shifted over the the return center. I through that little processor on the table (in the box). I demanded that the manager gets over here NOW! I asked the manager why does my item have somebody's prints on it and why was it sold to me as a NEW ITEM. She looked at it and told the sales rep to get me another one. The rep did so and brought me back another used one because they didn't make any i5-760 processors any more. I said OK, go make sure it works and you will give me a discount. the sales rep said I can only give a 10% discount. I told them I will never shop again unless you go higher. I got 20% off which was only about $22 bucks off $204 bucks.
they tested it and it worked so I got my discount and went home.

The next incident was a pissy mistake by there staff. I bought a HP Dv7-4177nr on march 16th 2011 with the 2yrs. service performance contract for an extra $160. I had a problem today with it not booting to windows 7 Home Prem. I brought it in on Tuesday. I went and dropped it off signed some crap then handed over my PC. They called and said it was done Friday, which the only reported problem was that the Samsung HDD failed, which is not Fry's fault but this next part is.... I went to go my PC on Saturday, I got there and went to the repair center. I told them I was here to pick it up and they said OK. They tapped some junk in on there PC and said that it cant leave for 2 hrs. that turned into 20 mins. Whoops there goes 20 mins! I said WTF out loud!!!!! They said there was an internal billing problem and it cant leave the store or I would be stealing it. I told them that's BS, y'all called and said its ready (on Friday).I grabbed my PC and the rep wouldn't let go of it so I yanked and I got it (keep in mind that I am 16 and both my parents are lawyers, so get what I want from the store reps.). I told them go get my charger for it now, they said we cant do that until the billing is done. I was thinking of hopping that counter and grabbing whats MINE!!! I told them either I am leaving or one of you people drop this thing off at my house! They said again we cannot do that sir. I said OK, go get me someone who can make a decision around here now! they did and the manager was very nice and said that she was sorry and all that. I said I need to go now, and give me my PC charger. She grabbed my power adapter and handed it to me. I waited about about 3 mins. and she said that I can leave now and to enjoy my day. I will NEVER EVER BUY A PC FROM THIS STORE AGAIN!!!!! they didn't even install my drivers or basic programs, they did activate Windows 7 though. The tech that worked on my PC took responsibility for his problems. In the end my paper work was misplaced by some nut head in a little white and blue coat. that belongs in the cage in back of the store where the small expensive parts are though. I also bought another HP that never worked right from there to, I never did like HP. I was always and Alienware and ASUS kid. I dare that store to screw another customer again."

"On May 26, 2010, I purchased a Toshiba S5004 laptop and a 3 year service contract from your Plano store. On 4/7/12 I dropped my Toshiba laptop off at your Plano store because it would not boot up properly. After 2 weeks and several calls to the repair department, I was finally told that the motherboard needed to be replaced, and it was being sent to their HQ's for a motherboard replacment, which could take 6-8 weeks. I find that solution completely unacceptable.

As part of my Service Contract, I currently have a "Loaner" laptop. As I was only expecting to be without my laptop for a few days, I do NOT feel it is fair, or reasonable, to (1) wait 3 months to have my laptop returned, and (2) be responsible for any possible damage to the loaner laptop for that length of time. I would like a quick and reasonable resolution to my problem. If I have to wait 3 months for my laptop to be repaired I assure you I will not purchase any additional computer products from Fry's, nor will I purchase another worthless Service Contract. Further, I will make every effort to alert consumers of the poor customer service I have received and the subpar products you sell. I expect a reply within the next 48 hours.

I was never given the courtesy of a response. I won't shop at Fry's again and suggest that consumers don't either. Their products suck and their customer service is abhorant."

"Horrible experience buying a product from their website i.e. frys.com
I have been charged $129 for shipping and I havent received the shipping tracking number even after 1 week from my order date.
The customer service is much more scr**d up, I had to wait 30 mins to get someone to talk to and then another 40mins to get what I want.

I would never buy anything from this company again."

"I have purchased 46" Sony KDLEX720 from Frys electronics during June 2011 and I was offered to purchase 3 years home warranty plan by a Sales associate which I was told if the not repairable with this this 3 years I will get a new TV or better option (I was also told that it will override Manufacturers first year warranty, so that I don't have to deal with Sony). That impressed me to buy 3 years warranty and so I bought it. Now my TV got some problem in March 1st week 2012 and I have called Frys about the issue. They asked me to contact Sony, I have called Sony and I got the event ID created and after a week they got back to me saying the part not available to repair and they can offer with recertified TV. I have told Sony that dealer offered me when I have bought their warranty plan saying if the TV not repairable then the TV will be replace with new TV or better option. After that when I went back to Frys (it's been 3 weeks and totally 4 weeks from the TV issue reported) and they are saying under warranty they can only provide recertified TV (later on even said worst that they will offer me demo TV) or store credit (and that too prorated warranty money), I told them that the sales associate who sold me the warranty plan by then said I will get a brand new TV if it is not repairable or better option. But their warranty contract seemed to be having they can only replace with remanufactured unit and their store manager pointing to it. I have told their store manager that your warranty copy is given at the counter and no one will go thru that 6 or 7 pages of terms and conditions at the counter before signing and paying. They haven't even showed any courtesy and gave any better option. I have bought over $3500 worth of mechandise and owning them. First of all I shouldn't have bought SONY LCD LED TVs, I have read bad reviews every where. I have bought SONY product based on only reason I like their other products and I have their 3 digital Cameras and CamCorder and 2 bluray players and old CRT TV. With this experience I will never ever buy a SONY product and especially never ever anything again from Frys Electronics. I want to share my bad experience with any of you that you guys want to buy from Frys electronics and their warranty offer, and even else where the SONY LCD LED TVs. I do not see there is zero star to provide otherwise zero start would be a worth for this Frys Electronics customer support and SONY TV. Thanks for your time going over this, I hope this will help you chose better dealer and better product. "

"This happened at Store #024 in Concord, CA.
My laptop was shutting down unexpectedly so I took it to Fry's for a diagnostic repair and asked to back up my data. 2 weeks later, since nobody called me I went there and it took them 30 min to find my laptop since some employee misplaced it. Later they told me the hard disc was the problem and needed to be replaced. I asked for the back up disc and it was then when they realized they mistakenly did it from another computer. Fortunately, they were able to still back up the data. After talking with the technician I agreed to have it repaired. TERRIBLE MISTAKE. 3 WEEKS later got a new hard disc and OS installation. since then, I went back to the store 3 or 4 times because the computer continued to shut down unexpectedly this time showing a blue screen monitor. The assistant manager was unable to help me and after 2-3 "reworks" and several gallons of gas on my trips to the store they assured me that the problem was finally fixed but sadly it was not. In summary, they hold my laptop for 2 months, never called me to let me know of the repair status, charged me more than $300.00, gave me a regular customer service and worse of all never fixed the problem. No need to say I am never going back. "My brother bought me a camera for my birthday. He gave it to me 2 days after purchase. The camera battery compartment door does not close all the way and is defective. I took it back 16 days after purchase and they refused to take it back. Oh did I mention I had to drive an hour and a half to get to the store? The do not know what customer service is. I've bought things there before and never had any problems. Bottom line. You buy it from them and its yours (even if defective) NEVER shopping there again. This should be a NO STAR rating"

"Bought big screen TV and took 2 months to arrive. when delivered found screen was smashed in after removing top cover box and TV still on base box it came in with. Fry's will not replace but decided to submit claim to manufacturer and will not do anything until then. I never encounter such merchant like Fry's. they are very unique group of merchant. BIG BIG mistake shopping at Fry's. Stay away from buying at Fry's if you want to keep your stress level low and keep your sanity.... Buyers beware!!!!!"
