Ordered a Diamond 5870 from them on 3/15 since they were the only ones who had it in-stock. Chose 2nd day shipping for $2 more. Got tracking # and card arrived today at noon. No problems at all. I love shopping in the Fry's stores but there are none in LA so I tried online and it went great.

Seeing the reviews here I was skeptical. But the $549.00 price, with free shipping, on an LG 42" LH30 was too good to pass up. I was pleasantly surprised that the free ship was fast FedEx! Received a brand new, perfect LG flat screen. Absolutely NO problems whatsoever. The price was great, free expedited shipping, great TV as described. Will definitely shop there again!!!

I am extremely happy with my purchase. I bought a new laptop, but I did not purchase any warranty on it. The laptop broke down within the first week. Frys took it back and even offered me a discounted price on a new laptop. I will recommend this store for computer related purchases.

I ordered 3 disney netpals, and was very impressed when on a Sunday I recieved a phone call acknowledging the order, and confirming the address. The customer service rep. was very respectful and helpful with a great attitude. Everything arrived as scheduled and in perfect condition. Well worth the price and all was as promised and discribed. I will defiently do business here again. Thank You Frys.com This review was modified by its author, JWOOD6790, on

DO NOT buy from here. i almost consider frys a scam. first of all, they're pretty notorious for the "bait and switch" tactic. they will advertise prices when none are actually available. here is a screenshot of things i've ordered when logged in, and notice how many things end up being canceled. and this is not even counting all the canceled stuff when i buy things and check out as "guest". when you order things, online to ship or instore pick up, it will show available. a few times i've ordered things and go pick up right away assuming they really did have and once i get there, i find out they actually don't have the item. waste my time and gas driving there:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/WhiteFireDragon/frys.jpg
the last straw that ticked me off enough to write this review is from the last instore purchase i made. i bought a motherboard but they did have anymore new ones availible, so they offered an open box. i hate buying open box, but this time i took it anyways. when i got home, and opened the motherboard, i realized there was no socket cover there, and some of the pins were bent! i tested it, mobo wouldn't POST, so i took it back a few days later. i asked to exchange it and the guy doing my return said there were no more available, so i asked if they can ship to the same model from another frys store and i can pick it up once it arrives. the guy said that's possible, so he walked me to the components department and the person behind the counter was supposedly setting up the order and putting it under my name. i asked him when i can expect it to arrive, and he said about next monday, and they will call me once it comes in. he told me to just keep the old mobo for now and to come in and do an even exchange once the other one comes in. next monday comes along, no call. on tuesday, i called them to ask if my mobo came in yet, and no one knew anything about it. basically, they just kept passing me on to different departments and finally, the last guy said it hasn't come in yet. on wednesday, got no call either, so i called them and asked. they said it actually came in already and i just need to come pick it up. so when i come to the store the next day and asked for it, they had no idea what i was talking about!! i found out they never even ordered the dam thing to ship, and a different guy said they don't do that kind of thing. WTF?! i was not a happy camper at this point from all the time wasted and driving back and forth.
now this part is the worst of all: i went to just return the dam thing and get a refund to pick out another mobo. this time when trying to return, the person doing the return spot said he can't refund it because there were bent pins! i told him that the pins were already bent when i got it, and that's exactly why i wanted to return it. he said it's their policy. after talking to the manager of the return department, he was also firm on not giving me a refund because they don't take back motherboard with bent pins. i asked him if that's the case, then why the hell did they take it back from the first return and then sell it to me? he couldn't really answer that at first, but ended up saying they really don't take back bent pins and it only could have happened in my hands. i was thinking wow... this SOB just called me a liar. he was firm on this and wouldn't refund me.
yup... i had to just swallow it. i was already screwed from an open box item, then when trying to exchange for a working one, got a huge run-around, and finally when trying to return it was the biggest smack in the face. DONT BUY OPEN BOX, and for that matter, don't ever buy from frys. LOOK AT THE OTHER REVIEWS and determine yourself whether you want to buy from frys or not. only exception i'll ever buy from frys again is a bran new item and only if no other place carry that item This review was modified by its author, WhiteFireDragon, on

I purchased an Acer Quad Core Computer, 1 TB Hard Drive, 4GB RAM system for $429.99 and took it home to set it up. Microsoft Office wouldn't load; it locked up during installation. It wouldn't power down correctly and became an overall frustration to the point that I just wanted my money back. I took it back the next day for a refund, at that point noticing the 15% restocking fee for desk top computers. I explained to the customer service man that I only purchased it yesterday and that it wasn't functioning properly. He wouldn't budget on the restocking fee so I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor said that the 15% restocking fee would apply unless I wanted the whole purchase refunded as store credit. Having absolutely NO FAITH in their computer systems, I didn't want the obligation to spend over $450 back at their store. I offered what I thought was a compromise: refund 85% and give me 15% store credit. The supervisor would have no part of the fair deal, because I had opened the box. I asked how I was supposed to determine that the computer wasn't working properly without opening the box, and of course there was no logical answer. "Store Policy" was the only answer given. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy any kind of large system at Fry's again. YOU ARE HEREBY WARNED! Please don't let this happen to you! If I can save one person from being stung at Fry's, then I will be happy. If you want a computer system, go to Dell.com, get a base system, and customize it the way you want. Dell will work with you until your system is working the way you want. They won't treat you like dirt. Once Fry's has your money, they don't care about you. For the record, I don't work for Fry's Electronics or Dell Computers.

On 1/19/2010, I ordered an eMachines ET1831-07 for the online advertised "Weekly Special" (1/15/10 - 1/21/10) of $279.99. I ordered at 1:45pm thinking I would pick it up on the way home from work. Order summary with order# said I had to wait for confirmation e-mail before I could pick it up. I didn't receive the e-mail before I left work, so I went home. Logged back in after dinner and getting the kid to bed at around 10:00 and there's the confirmation e-mail (time-stamped as "sent" at 1:46 of course). The confirmation e-mail said I had to pick it up that same day before store closing. It's an hour after closing at this point. Nothing on the web-site or the confirmation order summary indicated it was a one-day special, and I only learned of the same-day expiration in the confirmation e-mail that I finally received after the store had already closed. So the next day (today) I called the store that I designated for pickup and they refused to honor the price. I finally talked to the store manager and he said the best he could do was give me $50 off the store price of $389. I told him that was $60 more than I purchased it for the previous day, but he said he "couldn't" (i.e., wouldn't) honor the price. Both the store manager and the first person I spoke with at the store said that customers usually get 72 hours to pick up online orders, and they hadn't heard of a same-day req't for pick up.
So then I called FRYS.com and spoke with someone in Customer No-Service. Very nice guy, and he spoke with his manager, but same result. They wouldn't honor the price but said I could purchase it for $349 for the "weekly special" price. I told him I already bought it for the weekly special price of $279 for the *same week* and I wanted it for that price. But he said he couldn't do that. He also said that most online purchases have 72 hours expiration, but he said some really good deals have 24 hours. I told him it's only been 21 hours since I ordered it, and the confirmation e-mail arrived too late for me to pick it up before the offer allegedly expired. He still wouldn't honor the original price.
BAIT AND SWITCH is right! I intend to file complaints with the BBB and my state's Dept. of Consumer Affairs. It's illegal for a retailer to advertise a price and then make it *impossible* for a customer to purchase the product at that price.
[edited to note: I should add that Google's shopping site still shows Frys.com as offering the same model PC for $279, but when you click the link to go directly to the product on Frys.com it's now coming up as $349. So Frys was indeed offering the product for $279 but then baited & switched the online resellers too.] This review was modified by its author, Zambee500, on

I called and ordered the Toshiba Es5015 laptop that was in an email ad I received from them. I ordered it over the phone (because on their site an Acer was pictured and at $449 I wanted to ensure it was new and not a refurb.) The person on the phone was very nice, verified it was the Toshiba computer and that it was new. I asked if it was in stock and she said yes. So I was obviously suprised when I checked the status on Saturday (1/16) and it was "Back Ordered".
I called customer service and the first person I spoke to must have been on drugs. I explained the situation and he said "so, what do you want". I told him I wanted to know why I was told it was in stock and then it was backorderd and when they expected my order to ship. He said he did not know. They had no date for availability and offered to cancel the order. I told him, I wanted the laptop if they were going to get more in.
I decided to try my luck later hoping to get someone normal to speak with. This lady was very nice, told me they had no date when they would be in and offered to connect me with with a salesperson so that they could help me select a different laptop. (Can you say BAIT & SWITCH!!!) I told her I wanted that particular laptop and no other.
SO . . . after searching the internet and finding more stories like these where they never fulfilled the order or just eventually cancelled them, I cancelled my order. I would not recommend Frys to anyone based upon this experience and will never waste my time trying to do business with them again. This review was modified by its author, DavePa, on

Based on Fry's ad in the Houston Chronicle (promising a free update to Windows 7) I purchased a computer from Fry's.
They have not and apparently will not honor their ad. I have no Windows 7 update and they no longer respond to my emails.
I advised I will contact the BBB in Houston and Cincinnati, then get a judgment against them in Small Claims Court. I know I will never get my promised Windows 7 update, but at least I will go down fighting.

Although the Fry's in Central Dallas, TX not that close to me, I frequent it when I happen to be on that side of town. Well during the Xmas holidays, I decided to trek over to advantage of the sale on a 52" Sony Bravia TV with a free Blu-ray disc player for $1299. A great deal. Upon making the purchase, I was offered the extended warranty of $190. Unsure if I'd like the TV or not, I was informed that I had 30 days to come back to purchase the ESP if I decided I wanted it. So I decided to purchase the TV and come back for the ESP before the 30 days was up if I like the TV.
I liked it so much that just after the 3rd week, post-purchase, I went back to the store to purchase the 2yr ESP. Upon attempting to purchase the ESP, I was informed that the purchase price was $250 to my surprise as the price of the TV had increased to $1799. I learned Fry's bases their ESP price on the price of the product. Understandable. However, had I been informed at the time of purchase that the price of the ESP would possibly increase when the sale was over, I would have purchased it then. Granted, I should have done that initially, to save myself a trip, but it was the holidays and $$ was tight. I couldn't justify spending more than I really needed to at the time. The sales rep looked up my invoice # and verified my purchase price and the ESP based on that price, but they still wouldn't honor the $190 ESP price - even after going through the department manager and customer service manager. The reason I received: "Our system is old doesn't allow us to make those types of adjustments so we can't honor that price." That was it, cut and dry.
Needless to say, I returned the TV to Fry's since I refused to shell out the additional $60 for the ESP out of general purpose. I'm a very loyal customer if I feel I'm being treated fairly or even if I feel a retailer is going the extra mile to earn my loyalty as a customer.
Nonetheless, Fry's lost a customer and a sale. I found a better deal online even after the holidays that offered me nearly the same price on the TV, and a 3yr ESP for $150. This review was modified by its author, bieron, on

Milton, GA store #32 - CUSTOMER NOSERVICE
We purchased an LG 55" TV and have already made 3 trips to the store and have had their "installers" come to our home 2 times yet no resolution of the poor picture and sound quality. The Store Manager (Ray Simpson) needs to go through more training in how to schedule his installers (they were late both times and rushed to get to the next job) and to learn some basics on customer service and ethics.
When we purchased our TV, we were told the install we paid for would include running/hiding wires, full install of ALL componants we have or are purchasing and the TV would be "set" to maximize the required settings...LIES!
Only 3 of 5 speakers where wired and not even placed in correct locations. I ended up wiring the back 2 speakers, routing the wires and placing all 5 speakers myself because the installers said they dont have time due to other orders for other customers!!!!!!!
We went to the store and spoke with the Manager and another "Supervisor" and were told the 2nd installer would finish our job by 12noon. The installer arrived at noon (was supposed to be finished by noon!) and asked for us to sign a document stating that he was to hook up a blue ray system but nothing about the TV calebration, surround sound system, DVD, picture/sound quality settings, etc.
I recommend going elsewhere even if you pay a little more...being promised one thing in the store to make a sale then not delivering what is promised is simply bad business!! Ray Simpson should be ashamed!!

Be aware of Fry’s return’s policy, the location is Plano, TX
Listen to my story guys and pay attention to what it’s contained
My Name is: Salem and my email address is: samtur2005@gmail.com
I’m a windows PC user. I never tried Macintosh before. So, I decided to buy MacBook to try Macintosh operating system. On Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, I went to Fry’s store located in Dallas, TX, near George Bush Hwy to buy the MacBook. I saw one MacBook which was opened box and was on sale for $949. The box included only the laptop and AC power adapter, and missing the remote control, the recovery CD, and other stuff. There is a %15 fee for returning open box (Fry’s return policy) only apple products, such as MacBooks or Desktops. However, since I’m buying an opened box MacBook, the guy who sold me the MacBook told me that I don’t have to pay the %15 fee when returning because the previous guy who bought the MacBoot has already paid the %15 fee. The manager also guaranteed that I don’t have to pay the %15 fee for returning. Thus, I bought the MacBook and tried it for one day. It was really good. I liked it. However, the Macbook that I bought was missing much stuff. So, I decided to return it to Fry’s and buy another one that is new. On Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, I went to return the MacBook and I was surprised because they told me that I have to pay the %15 fee which was about $200, which I don’t have to pay it because I bought an openBox MacBook. So, I had to talk to the manager who told me that I don’t have to pay the %15 fee, but there was another manager for this day which was (Steven West). I tried to explain to him what happened to me and then he told me that I have to pay the %15 fee even though I bought an Opened Box MacBook that were missing much stuff. Finally, they to the %15 fee from me which was about $200 and in fact, they took the %15 fee twice (they took it from the previous guy who bought the MacBook and from me) and no one know who else they may take the %15 fee out of him/her. When I returned the MacBook, I saw the guy butting the same price as I bought ($949) on the Opened Box MacBook waiting for the next victim to buy it again. Thus, I don’t recommend anybody to buy any apple product from Fry’s because they don’t care about their customers. They only care about the money. I don’t recommend also buying apple products because of the fee they but for returning their products. They don’t want anybody to try their products for free. And now, I decided to not buy any apple product anymore because I don’t like the way Fry’s treating their customers and because of the fee that apple but for their products (to tell us not to try their products for free) so (buy it or leave it but don’t return it).

Got the great Black Friday HP Computer deal at $297. It showed in stock, ready to ship. Four days later, I checked the website to look for shipping number, instead it showed it on BACKORDER. Called for three weeks and was told any day, andy day. Meanwhile the same computer with the same Item number is now available in the stores for $529. They will not allow me to pick up one of these "in stock" computers because they say they are two different entities (stores and online). Funny they did not have any in stock in the stores when I ordered it (as I would have picked it up to save the shipping). They have restocked their stores and purposely did not restock their warehouse or fullfill their backorders as they do not intend to honor their sales price (at least not until after Christmas now). I missed out on all of the other Black Friday deals as this was "in stock and ready to ship" now I have no Christmas present for my daughter. THANKS FOR NOTHING FRYS! Everytime I call the first thing they ask is, "do you want to cancel the order." I am sure they have gotten out of many of their backorders that way. Their phone people keep saying they apologize, but they will not DO anything. I ask them to supply a different computer of equal or better quality, they said NO. I offered to pick it up at the store, they said NO. Any reputable business would want to resolve a problem with a customer when it is their fault. They don't care and make it clear that don't care. I intend to file a complaint with the FTC and our attorny generals office for fraud! Highly recomend never using their online service.

My black Friday shopping experience with Frys.com .I ordered a Canon DSLR camera for $399 on Black friday. Now they sell it at $599 but do not ship my Order. Frys does seem to have a strategy to avoid customers from buying from its competitors. It offered lower price, same day shipping than its competitors. After receiving the order they do not ship. After a week I call and enquire why I did not receive it yet. Frys says that it has ordered the product from its supplier and does not know when it will receive from the supplier (Remember they said "SAME DAY Shipping"). Customer service representative also repeatedly offers to cancel the order. But at the same time Frys sells the same product for a higher price. When this is pointed out the customer service says that I can purchase it at the higher price and cancel the lower priced order. I can not now go to its competitors because now they also have a higher price as the Black Friday offers are over NOW. The credit card was also charged and then reversed after I called them.

This was my first purchase from frys.com and was not at all good. I ordered a laptop which was showing available and ready to ship on the same day. After 2 days I got verification call and representative assured that it will be available with in 5-7 business days. Today I looked at the status of my order and now it is showing 'Back Ordered'. I talked to Customer care and as usual they can only apologize nothing more they can do about it. They do not have any ETA from their vendor so can not give me any date. This is nowhere situation for me. I can not get the same laptop in same price and these people can't even expedite my shipping as I have to leave the country with in 2 weeks. Poor service, customer care and selling product which they do not have in their stocks. Stay away from FRYS.com. This review was modified by its author, vijinjain, on
