"If I hadn't just received a stellar replacement order, I too would be reluctantly leaving a single star rating. However, I have a fantastic story of the kind of customer service that deserves recognition.
I had flowers delivered to my husband's office for Valentine's Day. He told me they were a little "limp", but was going to be cutting them and putting them in water.
**I was baffled that the flowers were delivered via UPS, and therefore were boxed with absolutely no water in the vase.***
A couple of days later, I asked how his flowers were doing, and he told me they never perked up, and were pretty much wilted.
I sent an email to FTD's customer service Tuesday 2/21/12, to explain my disappointment. I hadn't yet heard back from them as of yesterday, but noticed a shipping notice in my email in-box.
They sent a replacement order! And today is Thursday....just 2 DAYS AFTER I sent the complaint email! It was a different style than I ordered, but I think it may have been an upgrade. The roses came the same way they did before, in a box, completely dry. I used to be in the floral design business, so I know to cut them under very warm water, and use the floral food in the water in the vase. About an hour later, the blooms all began opening up. Absolutely gorgeous arrangement!!
So that's my story. FTD really came through and replaced my order. They did what every business should do, guarantee a product and supply great customer service.
"Brilliant! My mum loved the flowers, the box it came in was very 'posh' and she said it was packaged very nicely. Great choice of flowers, much more sophisticated than other websites. Although shipping was a little pricey (ordered for Mother's Day) it arrived on time and was not ruined in the shipping process.
Will definitely use them again! Much better than 1800flowers and proflowers."
"After many orders from 1-800-flowers only to get old flowers that lasted no more than a day at times, I decided to give FTD a shot. Ordered in the morning, flowers were delivered that day. The arrangement matched the picture, the flowers were fresh and today 4 days later, they are still going strong. The quality difference is amazing. Hopefully this order was not a fluke and I can look forward to many future orders of the same quality."
"I've been ordering flowers from FTD.com for years and have always received great products and service. I can't rate the company on returns service because I've never had a complaint about their products. I usually order 5 or 6 bouquets a year. The selection is pretty good, prices are reasonable, and I have never had an order delivered late. For this past mother's day I ordered "Tickled Pink Orchids" for a good friend of mine and she tells me they arrived very fresh, very good quality, and on the date I specified. I will definitely continue to purchase all my flower orders from FTD.com."
"My experience with FTD.COM was a pleasant one. I was very apprehensive of FTD after reading some of the horrible reviews.
1) My order was delivered timely, the flower arrangement was pretty close to what was ordered. 2) I got an email confirmation of the delivery shortly after the delivery was made. 3) I had signed up their Gold membership priced at $39.99 for a year during my Valentine's day flower order where I used Groupons too. 4) Price was reasonable and no shipping/service fees.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Will do business again with them."
"I can't believe all the bad reviews. Luckily I didn't read them first lol. I ordered mine yesterday morning and they arrived today bright and early at like 8:30 am. I got the spirit of season bouquet for my mom and I was actually shocked at what I ended up getting for the price. I paid for the cheapest one cause I'm cheap lol and I'm pretty sure they gave me the most expensive one because its HUGE(not upgraded because the flowers and such are exactly the same as the picture). My mom is soooo happy and I will definitely be ordering from there again. The one and only bad thing about FTD is that I live in Canada and certain things like the jewelry can't be shipped here, which is actually a good thing so I don't spend more money at this time of year lol."
"Well FTD is the big daddy of online florists. I have ordered twice from them, once on the big rush day of Valentines and second for someone's birthday.
The ordering process. The company makes it quite clear that when you order delivered orders are actually created by local merchants so you are taking a risk right then and there, although knowingly, and they make a lot of notices to cover themselves.
The actual order (the first order). For instance on my first order I ordered 12 red roses and they have you pick a second color incase that one can't be used. Well I "had" to pick so I picked yellow as it was either that or white and on May 7th the flowers came and they were yellow (of course). I couldn't figure out honestly what florist doesn't carry stock of the most popular rose color. This really isn't a fault of FTD but of the local florist who didn't carry the items in stock. The order went through fine, the card was delivered, and it was on time.
Order #2 (valentines day) This order came this year on Valentines day. I ordered on Friday to try to beat the rush. Order went through fine, got a bouquet of various tropical flower (so that the yellow rose problem doesn't happen again). I was a little bit upset that you couldn't specify a time that you preferred. I was happy though that they delivered it in the morning with no problems on Valentines day, flowers were as promised with the vase and card. Order was smooth.
I do find the prices about average compared to their competitors but as a whole flowers on the internet are overpriced for what you get.
Buy again? I think I would buy again, if i had to buy flowers for someone long distance, and there really aren't many options other than FTD online that have an automated system where you don't have to call and describe what you want. If that person is within driving distance however, I will happily go to the store and know for certain exactly what I am getting."
"I called customer service today to work something out with their 7 Day Satisfaction Guarantee. The CS Rep was rude to me! He asked me why I had waited so long to call. 4 days isn't that long to me!...especially when I have 7 days of guaranteed flower bliss. I explained to him that the flowers looked a bit pathetic when I took them out of the box, but I gave them my best TLC and they never got better. The roses and lilies are already dead and in the trash. The lone survivors are 4 poor tulips. I don't feel like I should have had to explain myself to this guy. In the end, the CS rep is sending me a new bouquet of my choice.
We have used FTD before and I'm sure that my husband will insist on using them again, but this is strike one in my book. One more bad experience and I am going to use another company."
"I ordered the "Lots of Love" bouquet for my partner on Feb 6th to be delivered on Valentines day. Beautiful ensemble on the site; 2 Stargazer lilies and 6 tulips with vase at 49.99 plus delivery charge. My partner and I work in the same store so I was able to intercept the flowers and hand deliver them myself. When I opened the box to prepare it, I was so disappointed;the lilies were buds and one tulip was already wilting! I may not know much about flowers but I do know that it looked pretty lame. Samantha enjoyed my efforts though and appreciated the thought which made it better I suppose. After following the care instructions, I expected that the lilies and tulips would at least bloom after a few days. After five days, the tulips are droopy and the ONE lily that did bloom is definitely NOT a stargazer! I called FTD last night expecting a runaround but was pleasantly surprised by the great customer service. Theresa understood my dilemma and not only offered to ship a new bouquet out(it was no longer available so she credited me instead) but she also sent a personalized apology email. Even though I was disappointed with the actual product, I must say that Theresa eased my pain by providing excellent customer service. We all know that it's hard to come by these days! I will be ordering again from FTD, just hoping that I will receive a better product than I did on Valentines day."
