"Do not be fooled by their price.
Do not blieve anything they tell you.

I ordered a camera from them. Prior to completing the order on line I called to confirm that the camera was a usa warranty item as state on the web site. they assured me that it is a usa warranty. I asked the sales person about items that are included in the box. He refered me to a tab on the website that listed the items (items icluded). I check the items and read them out loud to him and he confirmed every item. Ofcourse as of today the items icluded tab is nolonger on their site. I had placed my order one day prior.

I received and email to call and confirm my order. I call and the same salesman asked me if I wanted the battery and the charger with the camera. I told him that those items are included with the usa warranty. at this point he went on to tell me that this is not a us war. camera and this price does not icluded other items. After going back and forth for 10 min about what he had said one day before, I decided to cancel the order as I nolonger believed anything this guy had to say. Now that I have seen other reviews similar to mine I realize cancelling was the best idea.

Do yourself a favor and don't even bother to call these people as they have no clue about honesty and they seem to like it that way."

"I read that internet orders had to be ordered by phone, so I just called to make my initial order by phone. I ordered a $1349 digital camera package that they advertised. They then put on the high pressure tactics to change/upgrade/add everything. Although the camera came with a battery, they said it was a cheap one so I could try out the camera and I would need a better one. The two lenses (worth about $700) were not good enough. The memory card was not good enough. By the time the order was totalled, including the "standard" 5% shipping and 3% insurance, the total was over $1900...almost 50% more than the package I had wanted. They tried hard to rush past the price to their next question. I cancelled the order while still on the phone with them and went to a dealer that sold me what he advertised."

"Below is a copy of the letter I sent with my return to ExpressCamera. What a friggin joke. Upssell me to almost $3000 then deliver MAYBE $1500 worth of product. Please, I may not be a professional, but I know the difference in a $200 lens and a $1600 one. The internet created these people, but it also allowed me to check what they sent and the value. ALWAYS PAY BY CREDIT CARD PEOPLE.

Express Camera’s
Re Order: XXXXXX8Y
XXXXXX8

I am returning my entire order for invoice XXXXX for the following reasons.

1. Cannon 30D was previously opened and entire contents smells like cigarette smoke.
2. A cheap $200 Sigma lens (70-300 F4-5.6 DG MACRO)was substituted for the $1,599.00 Sigma
Apochromatic AF DG MACRO SLD
a) It appears a cheap $79 lens (28-70 F2.8 DG) was substituted for a $599.00 lens but Nick tells me
it is so new on the market it is not on the Sigma website.
3. The order was missing the battery charger and Compact Flash Memory.

On August 9th I placed an order for your Gold Package for $2004.00. On August 13th, Nick convinced me to upgrade to a special catalog # 7 package. Total cost was $2994.90. Instead of the Cannon Lenses I was to get upgraded Sigma Lenses. When I called to inquire on the lenses received, I was told a mistake was made and to ship back the camera and lens and new ones would be sent out. Instead of $2100 worth of lenses, mine were worth about $300.00. I decided to return the whole order and just reorder my original Gold Package. When I tried to do this, Edgar informed me they were out of the Cannon Lenses and the 30D. He switched me over to Nick who promised me that if I kept my package #7, he would ensure I got a new 30D unopened and the $1599.00 Sigma Lens along with an extra battery charger plus replace the one I was missing. I asked him if he had the Cannon 30D in stock and he said he did. This is minutes after Edgar told me Camera Express was out and they were on back order. I decided to do an internet search on your company and found numerous complaints for these kinds of tactics. Bait and Switch, items on back orders, incomplete shipments. This describes my order and experience so far. After calling Sigma directly to discuss these lenses I received, the tech said, I bet you got them from Express Camera’s. He informed me your company does this all of the time. Bottom line is I don’t trust your company. I have already informed Discover Card Services of my complaint. They advised me you have 15 days to issue a full credit. After that I will file a dispute.

Sincerely,

Steve

"I can't give a Great review because at the time of purchase it was showing instock. I called to confirm, with a guy that wasn't real rude.. but not friendly, and didn't end up buying any extras. Now, 3 days later it said it is backordered and they have canceled my order. After reading other reviews I am led to believe that it is because I didn't spend a bunch more on other items. I don't know for sure.. but atleast it is over. I will spend the extra somewhere else. "

"To say these guys are dishonest is a joke. It doesn't even begin to cover it. Like all of you, I received a confirmation email, only to be followed by a phone call to upsell me.

This was the second time I have dealt with them. The first time I called, I got the standard "backordered for 6-8 weeks" when I stated I didn't need anything but the camera body (Canon 30d and/or Rebel xti).

Miraculously when I called back, under a different name, and stated I needed a lens, memory card and extra battery, they had it in stock. Wow...6-8 weeks went down to in-stock in under 30 minutes.

This last order was for a lens I have been wanting (faster lens for low level light). Called and confirmed it was in stock. Placed the order. Got a confirmation. Then the phone call. Tried, as with others, to switch me to a Sigma. THEN, told me I would need to pay an extra $80 for a plastic mount or over $200 for a metal mount.

Aren't mounts part of the lens I asked? I was told that the website asks for the option when you order. Surprise.....It does not.

Thanks for posting the NJ #s for fraud. I'm calling the AG in the morning. Bait and switch frauds at best. Watch out for similar tactics with other vendors you'll find with similar prices. (And similar sounding employees).

If you think these posts are fakes...call and try it. You'll get the same responses. Call and order the body only...it will be out of stock. Then call back and ask for all the add ons, or a warranty, it will be in stock!

Try calumetphoto.com or another reputable organization. These middle eastern mafia scum will scam you for sure."

"I feel lucky. Express Camera canceled the next day after I refused their ridiculously strong upsale for outrageous prices. I ordered a Nikon D80 Kit with a couple of lenses that was listed on Express Cameras website for $679. What a bargain! It made me nervous when the website didn't give me an opportunity to print my receipt for what I had ordered and how much I was supposed to pay. After the normal "call to confirm," they told me my kit didn't come with a battery and wanted to charge me $200.00 dollars for one! They also said the standard memory card took 8 to 12 seconds to write a photo and I needed the super fast memory card for the camera to work as advertised. It cost $399! I knew better to order without checking Resellerratings.com and did anyway. Anyway, I received the same treatment most others have already commented on. I'm glad my order was canceled. It sounds like the ones who actually receive something are the ones who really get hosed. Everyone who has a complaint about this company should fill out a consumer complaint form on the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General's website. I did."

"LIARS, LIARS, LIARS...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PACK OF WOLVES!!!!! This so-called "company" is a scamming business. I placed an order with Expresscameras.com for a Panasonic DVX100B camcorder. I am a DP in Los Angeles and am quite familiar with the camcorder, because I use rented DVX 100s camcorders frequently for Broadcast TV production. I received a call less than 8 hrs after I placed my initial order online. The call was from Jason or Jeffrey (or one of their many dishonest employees) and was to inform me that my order did not include a viewfinder, nor a lens shade, nor a Panasonic supplied battery, nor a charger, nor anything but a stripped-down (dismantled) camcorder. They wanted to charge me for what Panasonic sells to them as an entire package. Not disassembled goods for their reselling of separate parts. I cancelled my order immediately and charged them with fraudulent business activities. This is reprehensible by law!!! They are deceitful and are using a misrepresentation in their advertisements. You do NOT get what you see in their photos. According these idiot knuckle-heads, the ads are just random depictions of a product. Not what you are buying!!! Some prices are just too good to be true!!!! I am pursuing further punitive damages, even though I cancelled my order. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and am planning on sending authorities to their location for illicit illegal business activities. Let's rid our country of unfair and deceitful businesses such as Expresscameras.com!! Good luck in your filming. Jed "

"Expresscameras.com needs to be shut down. I’d have a hard time believing this unless it happened to me. I bought a Canon XTi camera and a 75-200 zoom lens package for $489 on 12/4/07. Should have known, the price was too low. They called my wife when I was out of town and put the sales pitch on her on 12/5. All the items added increased the price to $799. Most of the items he convinced her to add were already included in the package I bought. So, he added a battery and 512Kb ($39 for 2Gig on other sites) more memory and changed to a lesser lens (Sigma 28-70, I’ve read they are black market) for $310. The free shipping showed up as $49 on the invoice. I read the reviews on these guys on CNet on 12/9/07 and asked my wife about the added details. I quickly decided to cancel the order. I called Adam (apparently he has many aliases based on other complaints), the same guy who spoke to my wife. When I told him I wanted to cancel the order he called me “an idiot,” “a worthless piece of sh*t,” “sh*t for brains,” “a low life idiot” etc. This is just a small sample of the numerous personal obscene insults I heard for the next 10 minutes from this clown. It seemed surreal to be talked to like this. I wondered about his mental state. After hitting the roof, I began to laugh at his insults – he was sure on a roll. I began to write them down and did not respond back. He asked if I hung up and why I was so quiet. I said “I am stunned that a customer service rep from a legitimate business could talk to a customer like he did.” He said, “Yah, I’m sure you’re stunned every time you look in the mirror.” He called me “cheap,” “small time,” and said I have “no balls” for canceling the order. He also said “You’re the kind of guy who buys a Mercedes and thinks he owns the road, and then complains about getting ripped off on the car.” I own a Jeep, not a Mercedes. He threatened to call my local police to file a harassment claim on me. All this and I'm the one harassing? He said he would be calling the credit card company and filing an unauthorized use of a credit card claim against me. He even said he was coming down from New Jersey to take care of me and my wife. I asked who owns this company and he said he was one of the guys near the top. We will not be accepting the delivery from UPS and my wife has contested the $799 charge on her credit card. She even canceled the card so a shipping and return to stock fee could not be added. Hard to believe these guys stay in business.

I’ll be filing a complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General’s office and the BBB.

"Never buy from this company. They will lie about anything to get a sale. The customer service is a joke. Their customer service person was cussing at me. I ordered a Nikon D70 They called me after Iordered it and told me it did not come with the standard Nikon assesories. Then told me that if I wanted a battery(that should have come with it)I was going to have to pay $179.00 for the battery and $199.00 for the charger. Then they charged e $175.00 for shipping after quoting $96.00."

"It appears that expresscameras.com has been doing this for awhile and possibly under other business names as well according to some of the blogs that I just pulled up. The blogs go back several years . By their (espresscameras)own admissions today in my conversation with “ Steve” a supervisor of the highest level manger on site… “I been doing this for 45 years, so go ahead and complain to someone ! You think its gonna stop me? And if you want to call back here and look for more trouble you’ll just get me again cuz I’m the highest level supervisor here !
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t research or google this company until today after a strange series of events that started after I had placed an online order with them on Saturday Feb 24,2007. The following day I got a phone call from someone named Tom trying to tell me that for the same price they would upgrade me to a better product but that it was a different brand( which in researching later I discover was actually a product of half the value ) he also offered free shipping and it didn’t stop there he asked what I was taking picture for and since it was for school events I got the special educational discount blah blah blah, It was like lets make a deal but the deals kept changing and the red flags started going up for me!! I told him I wanted to think about it and do a little research of the different products and options he was giving me and would call back. Monday morning I called Canon to find out about this new flash he had offered me and discovered that the NEW canon 580 flash he offered me isn’t even being released until April 2007. Although Tom from expresscameras.com had assured me that expresscameras.com had exclusive ties/right with the Canon Company and that they already had this item. The Canon rep said he had never heard of expresscamera.com but did some more checking and said to his knowledge this flash had not been released and would not be available to anyone until April of 2007. He didn’t know why expresscamera had tried to tell me that they had it in and could ship it right out. So I followed up with expresscameras.com and asked to speak to management ( it was option 5 on the phone) to see what was going on. Wow!!!!!!!!!!! not a good experience. After being hung up on twice, ( first by JJ and then by an anonoymous person) I finally got a “ supervisor “ named Steve. I thought I was doing this company a favor by giving them the heads up with the problem but before I could finish the scenario I must have struck a nerve that I had no idea was going to be so tender to Steve. I used the word scammed and he came unglued and said I had offended him and his family. He sounded very threatening towards me and warned me not to use that word again. I was baffled and asked why he was taking it personally and if he owned the company? He said no but don’t use that word again unless I wanted to be insulted back. I told him I had used it to describe how I felt with what HIS employee had done. I was not saying that about him or the company. So after I rephrased again it came down to this. I have never had someone so blatantly try to rip me off and then say, You think that one complaint is going to stop me…. I been doing this for 45 years so go ahead and call or tell someone!!! I asked him if he had heard of Dateline and he said yah you wanna hook me up with her. I was again speechless but then he got real serious and said I could either cancel my order or he would send out the product I had originally order without any discount and I had to pay the shipping just as the website site order was placed. He said this Tom was a new employee and he had the conversation recorded so he would look into it but he must have not known what he was talking about. I asked that he cancel the 3 year added insurance on the product and just send the product itself. He offered me the insurance at an additional $5 off . I passed and asked when I could expect my flash and he said in 10 days. What started out as my excitement to embellish my photography equipment with a new flash has turned into a maddening ,shocking and now disbelief as to the whole transaction. Photography is a hobbie I enjoy and volunteer for my services for free to the local high schools and the people in my community. I am now if fear of this person or company has my all my personal information including my credit card info, address and phone numbers and what they might do . After my phone call I would not
put anything past them. I think I am calling my credit card company to put an alert on it and not sure from here what to do
