"**WARNING!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EXPRESSCAMERAS.COM OR ITS SISTER ORGANIZATION GENIOUSCAMERA.COM!** I feel as though I've been through Hell. I ordered a Canon EOS 10D camera body from ExpressCameras.com and immediately received an unusual email that instructed me to call a toll free number, otherwise my order wouldn't be processed. The man who answered immediately proceeded upsell me on a bunch of peripherals I didn't need. When I declined, he became irritated and his tone was quite disrespectful. He then informed me that my camera wouldn't ship for at least 10 days. That was 23 days ago. As of this morning, I still hadn't received my camera or an email or phone call explaining the delay. I called back and this same guy answered, telling me that the camera was not in stock and that it would be at least ANOTHER 5 WEEKS they would have it. At this point, his tone became belligerent, as if my expectation for timely delivery was unreasonable. I'm sorry to say, we got into a shouting match, which that I lost. Ultimately I hung-up feeling very angry and dissatisfied. I called back using the MANAGER option and guess what? This exact same guy answered that line, too! He told me that he was the manager. At this point, I had a sinking feeling that I was being scammed and asked that my order be cancelled. Although he gave me a "cancellation number", I am now very nervous about this outfit ever having my credit card number. I asked him his name, and he said "David, ext. 235". But that's just half of the story...

I then went looking for another retailer and found "Geniuscamera.com". I was attracted by the low price, but when I tried to buy the camera, the intake person tried to upsell me immediately on a kit with a lense that cost $200.00 more. I declined. Then he tried to sell me the peripherals (battery, charger, Compact Flash card, etc.). I declined, explaining that I already have that stuff. This character actually argued with me that I really had the equipment (essentially calling me a liar) and then told me to "stop playing games" and to buy the camera kit he was trying to sell me at his upsell price. At that point, I just hung up.

Someone on these reviewer boards has pointed out that both or these companies are actually one and the same. Learn from my experience: Expresscameras.com and Geniouscamera.com fit are extremely unprofessional and their operation is unsavory at best. Avoid them at all costs!"

""After shopping around I found Expresscameras to have one of the best prices around for a Sony DCR-TRV80 camcorder. Of course there are other companies selling them for slightly less, but not without hassles. I have bought from expresscameras in the past and they have never pressured me to purchase overpriced accessories or suddenly had the item not in stock when I wouldn't buy additional items. I had purchased a Nikon digital camera from them in the past that turned out to be defective from the factory. They gladly replaced the item without any fuss. If they continue to offer some of the lowest prices on the internet and pressure free sales reps, I will definitely continue buying from them in the future."

"THIS IS A SCAM OUTFIT. Wish I had located this site before ordering. I wanted to order a Canon 75-300mm F4-5.6 IS USM. They told me the IS would not work with the digital rebel..a flat out lie. Claimed that they offered a Sigma APO lens that was unique to them at a much higher price. They sent me a Sigma 70-300 DL macro lense that can be purchase for under $200. Customer service is near impossible to reach. When I said I only wanted to return for refund they dropped the line. If you cannot reach them for an RMA they will not accept the return! DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE!!!"

"Well, my comments will echo much of what the other reviewers are saying. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM EXPRESS CAMERA! I ordered a Nikon N75 for a price including shipping of $262. The next day, Express camera called to confirm an address and told my teenage daughter that the new price was $399.99.
When I called to inquire about the price increase, all I got was unbelievable rudeness and actual insults. The increase in price? "Oh, you wanted batteries with that camera didn't you?"
These guys should be out of business...spread the word."

"I believe that we have a serious case of fraud from this company because last week my husband called this company to get a refund on a part they did not send but they did charge us for. He was so frustrated with the manager that he told that manager about this site. Right after that there were three "very satisfied" ratings posted here! I hope that this site checks out those postings and the company is blacklisted. I find it curious that these are the only satisfied customers out of this whole bunch of us!

Now, here's a crazy part of our experience with this awful company...they billed us nearly $70.00 for a battery charger and never sent it. I just went to Staples and bought the charger for $14.99! Amazingly, they want us to ship our camera back so they can resend it with the battery charger. Are they kidding? It took weeks to get our camera in the first place and they have almost $500.00 of ours. Do they really think we'd trust them to follow through with returning our camera plus that charger all in one piece and in a timely fashion?

Please check out this company. This is the worst online shopping experience we have ever had!"

"I would NOT shop here again and I am telling everyone I can NOT to shop at express cameras! They are rude and pushy and offer no help. I paid for a 3 year extended warranty and never got it! I can't get any answers!! Don't waste your time here! Shop elsewhere! It's worth paying a little extra for better customer support!"

"I discourage anyone from purchasing merchandise from this company. If you read through many of the comments about this company you will find that there are many common problems. I would like to say that the problems discussed in the other comments are true. I was told several different stories when inquirying about my order on different occasions. The biggest indicator that I was being scammed was that no one could ever give me a tracking number for the order. On Nov 24th I finally got someone on the phone at the company and cancelled the order. After cancelling the order I contacted the credit card company to make sure the transaction would be cancelled. The credit card company gave me great service. Too bad Express Cameras couldn't do the same. This company is most certainly one to avoid."

"Don't buy from this company or any company, which is trying to push add-on accessories on you.
I have called ExpressCamera before ordering Digital Rebel and was assured that they have this product in stock and will ship it to me 24 hours after I place my order. When I called in, Mike, was trying to sell me additional batteries (his story was that they have specially configured packages for professional users which don't include battery and charger - bunch of BS). When I said that I want whatever they have in the original package and will decide later what I have to buy extra, my order was put on hold and the product, all of a sudden, became back ordered for 2 to 3 weeks.
I just found out about a fraud such companies do.
First they collect orders from the clients, charge their credit cards and then using this money they go out to buy merchandise. To keep orders coming in they have to lie to you that product is available when in reality they don't have s***!"

"Though the primary product in this order -- a Sony camcorder -- is acceptable, many other things are unsatisfactory. Focusing only on the tripod in the order: 1) The tripod on the invoice is not the one I ordered. 2) Its cost on the invoice is lumped in with the prices of four other items, so I don't know what they're charging me for it. 3) The tripod I received (two days after the rest of the order) is not the one I ordered OR the one on the invoice. 4) The $399 cost on their website of the tripod I did order is the same as the cost of the tripod I ordered HOWEVER the VALUE of the tripod listed on the invoice is less than a fourth of that; three other resellers list it at $82.50, $75, and $69. They have agreed to accept the return of the entire order but I'm very concerned that they will in some way short-change me. Their customer service is terrible. Their salespeople are insulting. Phone wait time is extremely long. I would never buy from this company again."

"They tried to sell me a grey market camera and pass it off as main stream camera. When confronted, they had a mouth like Howard Stern, and very uncooperative. Never buy from these criminals. They also lied about the shipping date as well. They also charged an outragous shipping and handling fee. Let you credit card company deal with them."
