"I bought a Toshiba laptop from eBuyer and paid for Windows VistaB. Although Vista came on the computer, it crashed on the first day. The recovery CD I received was Windows XP. I contacted e-buyer. Their attitude was unbelievably rude. I communicated with Kathy Smith from customer services and she forwarded a very rude email from someone which said I should have created a recovery CD and company cannot help. I talked to Toshiba which suggested eBuyer should help or I should complain to ConsumerDirect. I contacted Kathy (at eBuyer) again. She forwarded the issue again to the relevant department and said she would get back asap. Next 2 weeks I waited for reply and sent her six emails looking for reply. She did not even bother replying. Perhaps she was told to totally ignore me. This was the worst customer service situation I have seen. Now dealing with ConsumerDirect.
Summary: I just recommend you not to buy from this vendor to avoid a painful experience. "
"purchased a lowrance iway 100m. the cd was defective. eBuyer.com would not replace it with a working mapcreate 6.3 for my gps. had to call paypal and discover card to reverse my charges, but they were no help either. lowrance finally helped me by 1) warning me to stay away from etailers like eBuyer.com, and 2)they sent me a "real cd" mapcreate for my gps. so cheers to lowrance, and jeers to eBuyer.com. WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM eBuyer.com!"
"They shipped me an EMPTY SHIPPING BOX. When I contacted them, they refused to ship me my MP3 player or to refund me! Unbelievable. I tried reversing the charges with my credit card company, but eBuyer (via Paypal) charged my card again!
I'm now stuck paying $319 (for an empty box!) because I can't dispute the same charge twice with my credit card company.
"I purchased a Tekkeon Bluetooth Headset from this store. The headset does not fit my ear properly and the sound quality was terrible. I contacted the company to request a RMA# for a refund or exchange. After a couple of days they sent me an email stating that my request was 'Declined'. This headset is completely useless and now I'm out $80! I personally would not recommend this online store."
"WORST customer service experience so far!!! I am really discouraged about their store policies on assuring reliability of their products and keeping customers happy. They meet none of them. They would not agree or reimburse for a damaged product from their warehouse.... WATCH OUT FOLKS !!!"
"Worst online shopping experience ever. I purchased a Motorola Bluetooth HS850 headset, the item arrived appeared to be used, the Motorola logo on the headset is missing and the unit's box is damaged. I went ahead paired the headset with my phone and it is a defective unit. I contacted ebuyer for RMA, since it's a DOA, but they kicked me straight to the manufacturer. I contacted manufacturer and they told me the headset is actually made for Asian market and should not be sold in the US market. It was a bad experience with this online retailer. I should of check their ratings before I made the purchase. No wonder they had such low ratings. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!"
"Excellent price and fast service. I ordered a Shure e3c earphone on 12/1; item was shipped on 12/2; I received item on 12/6 by UPS ground. Paid $5.34 for shipping. Item was brand new as stated. Based on others feedback, eBuyer has mixed results. I received the right item and didn't have to deal with customer service. Surprisingly, this item from eBuyer was listed on PriceScan, but not on PriceGrabber."
"Have placed large computer-related office supply orders at EBUYER twice, one year apart. (printer cartridges, flash memory).
I would conclude from my own experiences thus far, that dealing with EBUYER is a crap shoot - and your odds are 50/50 of having an efficient on-line shopping experience with no human assistance, vs. a problem with your order followed by a very bad customer service experience. Interestingly, ratings of EBUYER here reflect this same disparity.
For this reason, I would never recommend that folks shop here. One would have to provide too many CAVEATS wtih the recommendation! Certainly, you'd never do your Holiday Shopping here. Pity the soul trying to return a gift!
Yes, you can save money here. But you must measure risk of things going horribly wrong and not having any customer support from EBUYER vs. reward of HUGE savings when things go right.
NO RETURNS POLICY on many items. Check the policy on your item. At best, there's a 20% restocking fee. Often, simply NO RETURNS accepted. If product has defect out-of-box, you have to deal with manufacturer, or accept loss.
They charge your credit card prior to shipping and prior to knowing if there is actual stock.
The website is not current on stock information and in this way can be misleading. Delays of your shipment occur due to this problem too.
I was sent the wrong items and forced to take part in their cumbersome and painful returns process - just an awful experience for anyone.
Extra charges were made to my card without any communication to me (for shipping). And, that was for shipping items that weren't in stock, nor would ever be in stock.
Refused to credit my account when sent me wrong items and they knew they actually would never have the items I paid for in stock. I was forced to wait for them to re-stock the wrong item they sent me before I would receive a credit for EBUYER's mistake.
Extremely poor communication. No courtesy e-mails are ever sent. If you want to know what's going on you have to be very proactive. They do NOT notify you regarding out of stock problems or shipping delays.
You must follow difficult and cumbersome protocol on-line, and read/research many pages on information to self-service your EBUYER problems. "Customer service", when reached, refer you back to the website, where you must suffer through pages and pages of stuff to figure out how to resolve a problem.
Shipping charges are exhorbitant. They charge shipping per item. Lots of differnt items (even if light weight) = HUGE shipping charges.
Use EBUYER for single items with big savings, or for multiple units of single items, and only for items you are very familiar with, and know you will not need to return.
Good luck to you in your gambles with EBUYER. With some effort & persistence, you just might get lucky! "
"Invoice was for a iOmega 250GB External HDD, but item shipped was a playstation 2 starwars DVD. Request to send the correct item was refused, was asked to reorder the item again. When asked about the policy which covers incorrect shipment, there was none and was told it was standard policy, which was whatever the CSR found it convenient on each of the 2 separate calls made. Now the CC has a block in the amount of the purchase and dont get my credit back until the return shipping is mailed and ebuyer gets back the merchandise. A very bad shopping experience, wish they had cancelled the whole order if there was a mistake, they had 5 business days to correct it.
Will not do business again as any creditable business will atleast take time to explain to the customer the terms or honor the right order, but they were simply indifferent."
