"EDIT\ they canceled order and i DID receive the refud they promised so i'm content

Last wednesday I ordered the 19" NEC FP955 Monitor. Immediately the amount was deducted from my bank account, but by the next day it was all returned. What does this mean? I haven't heard any information from them, I emailed the customer support asking why my order hadn't been shipped. I got what stated clearly across the top of the email as an automated response, and said that my order was being processed and sorry for your time? This makes no since, monday i will try and call, i hope i don't get the answering machine like the rest of you"

"I bought a TEAC CDRW drive (W540E), they took money from my credit card and a week later sent me email that the oeder is cancelled because they cannot ship it in a timely manner. Their customer service does not appear to work: on the phone they say that they are in the move to other facility and don't accept phone calls and they do not seem to read email... Will never deal with EMS again!"

"Same story as the rest of them posted on or about August 4th.......they charged my credit card before shipping and then cancelled my order. This is the first and last time I'll do business with EMS. Heed our advice......avoid them!"

"I got scammed by EMS for a set of Altec Lansing 641s too. It's not worth the risk for the cheap prices. Now the money in my account is tied up and I can't order it from another store until this gets resolved."

"Ordered a set of speakers, HD, IDE and sound card on 7/29 and the credit card was charged on 7/30. Then got an e-mail on 8/4 from them saying that they were unable to ship my order in a timely manner and they cancelled the order. They did credit the charge back to the card, but it shouldn't have even been charged until the order was ready to ship. Trying to get someone on the phone seems to be an impossibility. About the only thing they've got going for them is the low prices and free shipping, which if they would follow through on would make them an excellent retailer.

Follow up: After reading other responses, I get the impression that the "timely shipping" was an excuse they used to avoid paying shipping costs on the heavy/bulky items like cases and speakers. When I checked the site a couple of days after the cancellation e-mail, I also noticed that the price of the speakers I ordered had gone up but free shipping was still in effect. Today (8/12/02) the speaker price has gone back down, but free shipping is no longer available. Talk about deceptive advertising practices."

"To all customers of EMSComputing who are seeking a refund:

I have basically been in the same situation as everyone else--ordered an item, order was cancelled with refund promised, and no refund for a month.

How to get your refund:
1) Dial Phone # 1-800-939-3948 and when you hear the greeting, just dial in extension even if it doesn't ask for it.
2) Dial 2355 (General Manager - Herb Jones)
3) Either talk to him during business hours or leave him a voicemail.

I have to say, Mr. Jones was very nice and patient to handle and clear up my situation. He told me that my refund was posted last week, and that I should receive it this Friday. So I will update everyone if I have received it or not.

But before this, I have done everything everyone else has done: E-mailed numerous times without any response, Called, left messages, etc. Thanks to ResellerRatings I have obtained a valid extension to speak to a live person!

Hope this helps, I'll keep you updated."

"Purcashe went smoothly. Product was defective. Contacted by email took several days to respond with RA#. Returned unit did not recieve credit. Contacted by email took several days for response. Was told account had been credited. Three weeks later still no credit. Tried to email and Call on phone no response. Don't buy stuff at emscomputing."

"BEWARE!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!
I ordered an Antec Case 630SXII on October 15, 2002, and they never shipped it. They only responded to one of my many e-mails, and only after I threatened to contact my credit card company. They say the case has been on backorder even when their website says it's in stock.
I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT BUYING ANYTHING FROM EMSCOMPUTING! I certianly never will.
I just hope they refund my credit card, which still hasn't happened!!!"
