"I have placed an order with discountanimedvd.com on 8 October 2008 but until today I have not received it!

The amount of the order has been withdrawn from my bank account but the order has never been shipped to me.

I followed up with them by email but got no response and after checking their website I found out that it no longer exisits!"

"The item was listed as "IN STOCK" on their website, but I was notified AFTER my order was placed and AFTER I was charged that the item was no long in stock. This is the second time this has happened to me with Discount Anime DVD. They list merchandise as in stock, when it really isn't. I can understand inventory changes, but they have yet to update their own website reflecting this. It's misleading to buy from them. What's worse is that they charge you immediately without even checking stock, so if it's not there you have to go through the whole refund process."

"This place is great! I've bought numerous times over the last couple of years and never had a problem once. Their prices for DVD's are among the best around and their selection of anime goods over all is definately one of the largest I have ever seen on the net. At most order processing takes 2 days. Shipping-wise they offer free shipping via UPS on most orders over $99 (heavy items of course don't qualify for this) and that's the shipping I've always used and never had any problems. With the exception of backordered and reserved items, all of my orders were shipped out immidiately after order processing was complete and I usually recieved my order with in a total time frame of 3-5 days max.

Definately recommended as a source of anime!"

"Well i had done my research on this company/site and i saw how there were some problems with stuff thats been backordered but i made sure that all the stuff i ordered was stated as being available. So i made my order and next day i check on the status to see that 2 books where backordered. Oh, i also payed for USPS priority shipping as i wanted to get my books fast (10 total). Well i was mad that they didn't show as being backordered tell after i placed the order but oh well. A week and a half later i hadn't recieved the first shipment of my books as they had said they had shipped the 8 books that were in stock, so i sent them a msg and they claimed that they sent it USPS priority and that i needed to check the shipping number or contact my local USPS about it. So i call them up and they say it was shipped via media mail and that will take 10-14 days to be deliverd. So i was pissed that i spent the extra $9 or so to get it shipped in 2-3 days so i sent of a msg telling them i want a refund for my shipping sense they didn't ship it the way wanted and the way i paid for. They got pissy with me but when i said i was going to contact the BBB about that and how what they did with the shipping was fraud. I got my first shipment and there was a book missing so i thought maybe they shipped it with the 3rd order but i sent off a msg letting them know what was up. They gave me the run around again asking if i was sure i didn't get the book. Got the 2nd shipment and the book wasn't in it. Sent an email and they then offered to give me a store credit to which i declined as i would have to spend more to get the book i ordered as they weren't on sale. They have basically screwed me over, but they did give me back the money for the book and shipping cost. I'll never buy from them again and will be contacting the BBB about this. "

"I purchased about 40 manga and dvds for my daughter on 12-8,received confirmation same day, charge hit my credit card same day,too. On 12-22 I became concerned nothing had arrived, checked status on their website. NOTHING has been shipped.The entire order is held up until MARCH because of 4 preorders? I had checked their shipping policy prior to ordering,and nothing was mentioned that an entire order would be held up due to preorders. Common sense should dictate to these people that a sizeable order, three weeks before Christmas is indicative that it's a Christmas present. HELLO!!! At the very minimum, an email that there was a problem would have been appreciated. In addition, their site shows order held up due to nonpayment in one spot,and shows paid in another? Well, I am fixing to call VISA to dispute the so-called nonpayment payment that got charged to me the SAME day I placed the order. This was just about my daughter's entire Christmas. I am NOT a happy shopper. Oh,and their "Customer Service" phone message refers you to their website for "faster" service, but it says it will take 2-3 days minimum to respond to emails, and their phone machine hangs up on you after giving you the brief message they can't get to your call. It says you can leave a message, but guess what-you can't. "

"One of the worst online retailers when it comes to customer service.
I placed an order in late October. I received an incomplete order in the mail. I notify them of the mistake and a week or so later, they finally told me they'd sent a 2nd package that I would receive soon. A week later, having seen hide nor hair of said package, I contacted them again, this time requesting a tracking number for the second package. I receive a reply with the tracking number for the 1st incomplete package I had already received.
It has been over a month and I'm still no closer to receiving the rest of my order. This company will never see a purchase from me again, end of story."

"this store is rediculous! I placed an order 2 months ago, and they were keep telling the items I ordered are out of stock without giving me any refunds at all! very unreliable seller! Indeed, the prices on their website is rather high, way marked up prices and I don't see any reasons to buy from them anymore! extremely disappointed!"

"Discount Anime has a wide selection of import/domestic anime dvds and graphic novels. In addition, they carry a select number of computer games and board games. I placed my particular order on 9/18/04. The website was easy to use and quick to load. The selection of import titles offered was excellent. I received my order on 9/24/04 without incident. Posting of the tracking number for the package happened very quickly. "

"I loved the prices this store offered, and I received my items in perfect shape for a really good price but they shipped a little slow ... I placed my order on July 7, 2004 and received it on July 16, 2004 via UPS which means it took 2 work days to process my order and 5 work days to arrive at my place *not includeing non working days*, Also the tracking numbers werent posted on their site until i actually asked for them two days before my order arrived but they responded to my email the same day which sorta makes up for it.

Overall I love that they carry rare things that I cant find anywhere else but guys plz work on the shipping issue :p"

"I'm disappointed in their service. I purchased a boxed set a while ago, they charged me for it, and later told me that it was not in stock. So I asked for a refund for it, they said it would take about 14 business days, and now, 1.5 months later, I still haven't recieved it.

On April 2nd, I made another order, and one of the DVDs in that order was out of stock as well, but of course, they charged me for the whole order before they checked on whether or not all the items in my order were purchased. I am still awaiting my refund for that item as well.

The layout of the website, technical support (other than getting my refunds), is great and all, but if you manage to find something hard to find on the site, I'd recommend asking if its actually in stock, so you don't make the same mistake I did... Twice.

Also, despite being out of stock of items, they still post them on their site, without mentioning them being out of stock. (check out http://www.discountanimedvd.com/detail.asp?dvdno=2148 ...Thats the 2nd item I ordered that was out of stock) ...I have mentioned to them that they should fix that, but apparently, they haven't.
