My Digital Storm computer arrived about a month ago in excellent condition and has performed flawlessly from the minute I turned it on. After reading the other positive reviews here it is hard not to be repetitive. From their website , their forums, their videos and their A+ BBB rating this company is totally first class. I began my career as a computer tech and have had many PCs so I appreciate quality. After shopping for high performance PC for two months I chose Digital Storm and I am very impressed with the whole experience.
From the moment I placed the order I have felt like a valued customer. The checkout procedures and testing went exactly as described in their emails. I checked the logs and they tested this rig for 72 hrs. The overclocking is beyond what I expected. It is very fast. When showing it to friends I open it up to display the perfect wiring job. I love this computer and highly recommend Digital Storm.
This is going to be redundant because everyone else has had similar experience with Digital Storm Online but I need to tell my story as well.
I ordered my machine after pricing all of the parts on my own and Digital Storm was able to put it together cheaper than I could. I was expecting to get good service but ended up getting exemplar service. Digital Storm builds a quality product (No problems with my machine at all, perfect in every way.) but their customer service is what I believe sets them apart.
I run a help desk and support center for a fairly large company (2500+ employees) and the support staff are very good at their job. They do not measure up to the service and communication of Digital Storm. I have taken my experience with Digital Storm and have instituted new initiatives at my place of work to bring my team up to the level I experienced with Digital Storm.
Highlights of what I experienced:
1. Confirmation of order email
2. Emails of every stage of order
3. Phone call about a part being end of life and replacement recommendation PRIOR to executing replacement (You do NOT get that from Dell or HP!) and offer to upgrade if wanted.
4. Product was delivered on expected time-line.
5. Product worked out of the box FLAWLESSLY!
I cannot say anything other than if you are buying a gaming machine, BUY FROM DIGITAL STORM! I have a bunch of buddies at work that I have brought along on my journey with Digital Storm and they are all very interested in experiencing what I have in the future.
So I will outline my experience from the beginning.
I have been shopping online for months now, preparing for the day I would be ready to place my order. I have looked at all other significant players in the custom PC market arena. I finally boiled it down to two players, DS and "the other company". It boiled down to the following decision:
Go with "the other company" and get a lower price, but risk having issues
Or go with DS, pay a slight premium and feel 100% sure everything will go great
I was tempted to go with "the other", but I wanted the peace of mind and the high level of craftsmanship that most reviewers here attest to. So I placed my order on Thursday 2/18/2010.
They kept me informed with timely e-mails & they also promptly returned my e-mails (or called me back)when I made inquiries.
I got my computer deliver in 3 weeks. The packaging was excellent and the computer was in perfect shape. It fired up the first time and it runs like a dream. It is over-clocked from 2.6ghz to 3.75ghz. I put it through some bench marks and it passes with flying colors. I have also tested some new games and they run amazingly smooth.
All in all my experience has been first rate. If you are considering buying a PC online (which you should) then I fully recommend Digital Storm online. They will take care great care of you and provide you with the best PC money can buy.
I was MORE than extremely happy with my purchase from Digitalstormonline.com. From the first email and phone call I was seriously impressed. The sales technician knew more than any other tech I have ever spoken with. We walked through my wish list and in the end they saved me money and didn’t try to sell me more than I needed or wanted. In fact they over clocked both the processor and the graphic card and during the burn in process found that I needed an upgrade to the cooling system which I agreed to for a mere $60.00 more. They over clocked, loaded all patches and burnt it in. I got almost daily emailed progress reports on the build and STILL received the machine in the time promised. I received the box in pristine condition and was surfing within 15 min of plugging it in which included the router config which windows 7 flew through. I can’t say enough good things about this company, their service and expertise which are exemplary. I feel like I am driving a Bentley nude.
I scoured the internet for a PC manufacturer with quality parts and customer service for weeks. Finally, I stumbled across Digital Storm.
I was impressed with their reviews and their selection/price, so I tried them out. After a few rough spots early on in the configuration process (my customization choices were a bit atypical), things got squared away. I received prompt responses to my order inquiries, and I was updated daily on the status of my computer. Very nice!
When it finally arrived, it was packaged excellently, and it came running very smoothly.
I have had my computer for under a week, but I'm already impressed! Sure beats the hassle of building one myself!
Howdy, My system was delivered Feb. 15th. I am very pleased with my system, this thing has preformed as expected and beyond.
But this 5 member family will not do repeat business with Digital Storm, my original order contained a samsung gaming monitor.
Well they call me inquiring as to weather or not i want to pay more for the next size up seeing that they dont have {instock} the monitor that they offered durring the process with a live rep.
Now not knowing the price diffrence at the time, i said No that i didnt want to pay the extra, and asked that a second HD be added and Refund the diffrence back to our Card.
Having said that, The price diffrence of the next monitor up was approx. $20.00
Now i have been in customer service for 20+ years, in order to keep a customer happy and avoid the large refund they had to give. Ship the next size up and loose 20.00, or Do it as they did and have to refund over 200.00.
Yep, someone there was sleeping during customer satisfaction 101 class.
Now i have this awsome azz DigitalStorm and a wimpy azz Dell 19in Monitor.
That kind of first impression for me may decide weather or not i go back becuz. Its one thing to "Say" how much you value a customer, and another to call them wanting more money to up something you offered, and by no fault of the customer you could not provide.
This is just me, but to see the customer happy & generate return business I would have sent the next size up, and been like "Suprise"
Calling and asking for 20.00 on a $3000.00 system purchase, seems like the importaint thing was getting that extra cash and not making up for the oversite. That kind of thing stays with a fella that knows customer care, & sales as well as i do.
I am happy with my system, as to going back for return business, i think not.

I have only good things to say about Digital Storm. I recommend everyone who wants a high end PC for a reasonable price, coupled with a great warranty, to make their purchase at DS. I have no doubt you will not regret going to digital storm. I have told all my family and friends. Plus I enjoy seeing all the jealous faces when I show it off :)

I ordered my system on February 18 and received it on March 3rd.
I've been computing a long time, since my Kaypro II in 1983. Since buying my first Windows computer with Windows (3.0) I have owned Gateways. Not any more. I wanted to move my computing experience to another level. This computer does that in spades.
I researched the usual suspects before making this purchase. Some vendors were cheaper but having done some homework you get what you pay for.
I thoroughly enjoyed the shopping and purchasing experience. You used to be able to customize a Gateway but not any more. This purchase brought the thrill back of buying exactly what you want and need. I also enjoyed the frequent updates on the progress of my build and extensive testing including the overclock results. I suggest Digital Storm send one more e-mail to customers letting them know it has been shipped and including the tracking number. I had to call to get mine. This could have been a lost e-mail.
The enormous and sturdy box arrived as projected at 7:30 in the morning. At 70 pounds (20 or so for the box alone) we struggled to get it upstairs but it was worth the effort. As the box design has changed for the better I suggested to Digital Storm that they update their video unpacking instructions.
After unboxing I opened the computer to take out the custom packing and connect the fan. I observed the beautiful wiring job, impeccable construction and extra sound dampening materials I had requested.
The computer has worked flawlessly from the start. It runs cool and is extremely quiet (and a HAF 932 case is wide open so any noise is going to be heard) even though the i920 is overclocked to 3.8 GHz. All I hear is the low whirring of the fans and occasional clicking of the hard drive. As a bonus, the fans help cool my room.
I had to request a couple of small parts that didn't make the box and received an immediate call from Digital Storm letting me know they would be on the way. From my several calls and e-mails its obvious that their concern with their customers is genuine.
In conclusion, I cannot believe the quality of this computer and how well it is built. Nor can I believe its speed. Finally, thanks to the fan tuning and sound deadening materials it is really quiet. It's an excellent computer and Digital Storm is a wonderful company to deal with.

If you're reading this you're probably in the market for a new computer. If you're researching Digitalstorm you're probably looking for a gaming rig with some graphics horsepower. Now you have to decide which is more important to you, the most hardware you can get for your money or the best customer service in case something goes wrong. That's where I was five months ago when I was doing my research. I went with Digitalstorm because they had the best customer service rating I ever saw with the Better Business Bureau and my logic is what good is the computer that is unstable and will let you down when you need it the most? My experience with their customer service rates an A+. If I called them with a question and couldn't get through right away they always called me back. If the question came at the end of the day I would get a call saying they were sorry they couldn't get to me today that they will call me back tomorrow morning which they always did.
My wife wanted a new computer after I got mine but she didn't want to go with Digitalstorm because they were more high end and she didn't want to spend the money. Going with a competitor of Digitalstorm I called them with a software issue and they refused to help me because they said they only troubleshoot their own hardware. I never had that problem Digitalstorm. They have helped me through hardware and software issues that were totally unrelated to the original system configuration. That means a lot to me. You may be able to buy more hardware for the money from another company but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know a lot about high end computer troubleshooting.
When my graphics card failed they replaced it free with the same model. I had to pay the shipping costs which is about the only bad mark I can give Digitalstorm (but they probably state that somewhere in the fine print of the purchase rules).
The best thing I can say is they back their systems 100% and you never feel rushed while you're talking to them as do their competitors. They'll be around for a while because to most people customer service means the most.
This is one kick ass system and I love to watch my friends turn green with envy.
I ordered no the 17th and recieved computer on the 24th . Eight days for build and shipping WOW
Computer arrived perfect shape with great packaging and protection. It ran ran out of the box set up for me ready to go.
One of the screens was missing in a drive bay . I contacted customer service thru email and parts were ordered and shipped to me within 5 days. No questions asked.
I have owned the computer for a few weeks now and it's running great. I have 3 years support to look forward to which gives me great piece of mind and thats what I paid for.
I am very happy I went with them instead of IBUYPOWER or Cyberpower. I read a lot before deciding where to buy and the froums on the companies pages told me the story.
I ordered my system from DigitalStormonline.com in Feb 2010. This is hands down the best custom built system I've ever owned. In the past I have always built my own system by ordering parts from well known oem retailers. This system was by far the best computer purchase I've ever made and the easiest system to setup.
The DigitalStorm customer service is totaly pro. I had selected an overclock option on the CPU. After placing my order they called to inform me that the mother board that I had selected wouldn't give me as good of an overclock as another one so I upgrade the mobo. Once the system was built I received and email with my bios settings and overclock results, they had managed to take an Intel i5 750 @ 2.66Ghz to 3.31Ghz with a coolermaster cpu heat sink and fan. This over clock is totaly stable and runs cool for hours. I've played AION (FarCry2 Engine) for 12+ hours strait and the air blowing out of the back and top of the case is the same temp as the rest of the room.
One of the most important part of ordering a custom built system for me was the quality of the built. Every part was properly seated, every screw in place and tight, and by far the best cableing job I've ever seen. Nothing in this case rattled, or moved while unpacking.
The shipping packing was amazing. Once I saw how well designed the packing was there was no doubt in my mind that the system arrived unharmed.
This system runs super fast, cool and sounds like a whisper.
Thanks DigitalStorm!

This is the best site for gaming pc's.I've had the best professional service from this company.I would recommend this site for anybody.Thank you Digital Storm.
I have recently purchased a Digital Storm machine and I would like to say that the process has been incredibly easy. I was really afraid to buy another gaming computer from a small company after having an AWFUL experience with a competitor of Digital Storm. It took me a few weeks to convince myself that the machine i was buying is the machine that i really wanted. When I finally hit the "buy" button, I was pleasantly surprised when a few minutes later I recieved a call from one of their sales people. Following that I had emails that updated me on every step of the process. When I finally received my machine...the moment of truth...I unboxed it, powered it on, and was VERY happy. My machine runs beautifully, and looks great! Not only WOULD i recommend Digital Storm to someone, but i actually already have!
Excellent service
Excellent product
I hope to never find out about their support, but I can only imagine that it is also excellent.
I give DS a 5 stars out of a possible 4. :)

I'm so glad I found Digital Storm while searching for a new computer after the motherboard on my old one died. Everything in the ordering process went smoothly and the turnaround time between order and delivery was truly exceptional. The flexibility to customize your system is one of the key features I was looking for and they didn't disappoint. All quality components you can tweak as you see fit to bring your new system cost in at a desired target.
Other reviewers had noted that Digital Storm made quality computers and ran the business in a professional way...that's what I experienced as well. My system actually cost less than I expected and ran flawlessly on first boot.
The shipping container was the best packaging of electronics I've ever seen. It even included a "retainer" inside the mini-tower to ensure cards didn't get dislodged in transit.
I'm extremely satisfied with Digital Storm and would purchase upgrades or a new system from them again without reservation. They aren't well known, which is a real shame because they should be.
I purchased a custom built gaming computer from Digital Storm in November, and want to share my experiences in hopes that others will find the information useful as they are considering a computer purchase. Overall I would rate my experience as mediocre, however in the $5,000 price range "mediocre" is not good enough. From purchasing, customer service, to build quality, there was nothing exceptional, and quite a bit that was disappointing. If you are looking for an exceptional experience from ordering to purchase to build quality, I can't say you won't have it with DS, but I CAN say that was not my experience and I would not recommend this builder.
ORDERING & CUSTOMER SERVICE
I found the DS website to be extremely user friendly and there were numerous forums where others with more experience were willing to offer comments. This was a definite A+. When I called DS to ask some specific questions I found it extremely difficult to get someone on the phone; having to call multiple times, on multiple days to actually speak to a human; definite F. After I did finally place the order I sent an email requesting a change in operating system, I got no response after 24 hours so I sent another email to another address I found on the website, which turned out to be a manger. I then received a cryptic response and phone message from a DS staffer who was obviously spoken to by a 'higher-up' - hmm...customer service D-. The order took longer to build then I was originally promised on the phone, okay things happen. Every phone call required multiple attempts on multipe days. My overall rating for ordering and customer service; C.
BUILD QUALITY
I want to begin by saying that the computer basically works fine; it is meeting the specified bench marks, and I have only had 2 blue screens in 3 months. The computer is fine; but it is not exceptional, and at $5K I was expecting exceptional.
DS writes extensively about quality controls it has in place, however I received a computer with broken parts, and a USB port not working. DS claims this was due to shipping, however I think it was just a case of someone not taking the time to do a thorough check of the case, and connections. The box the computer arrived in was impressive, truly indestructible; all the more reason why blaming the broken parts on the shipping doesn't make sense. The Cosair 800D case arrived damaged - the hinge on the drive-bay door was bent and broken off. The door had simply been put back in place but fell off as soon as I opened it. One of the USB ports do not work and some of the internal lighting is not working. DS offered to take the computer back to make repairs, however because of the original build delay and time involved in shipping cross-country, I opted to have them send me replacement parts for the door and damaged lighting and live with the non-functional USB.
This computer has a liquid cooling system, and about a month ago I noticed that the cooling liquid was beginning to get cloudy, and in the last few weeks, 'stuff' has begun to grow in it. Wow that's very disappointing after only three months, and that is what finally prompted me to write this review! I reached out to DS customer service and was told that the cloudy cooling fluid and 'stuff' should not affect performance - I KNOW THAT; I want to know why after three months the liquid cooling system I paid as extra 1K for looks like pea soup! No help offered; Note that environmental conditons are in no way unusual, and can not account for the pea soup now cooling this computer. Build Quality; a disappointing D.
IN CONCLUSION
Again I want to say there is nothing really wrong with this computer, and I did not have a horrific experience with blue screens and numerous crashes like others who have written here - the computer is fine. HOWEVER - my expectations in terms of customer service, and build quality were not met by a long shot, and I do believe there are other boutique builders out there who can meet mine, and yours. Keep looking.

@BDCasolari,
I am sincerely sorry and disheartened to read about your experience with us. In addition, I am surprised because we take a great deal of pride from the quality of our products and services. It's echoed by our outstanding Reseller Rating score and A+ BBB rating from our customers.
We want you to be happy with your purchase no matter it be an $800 or $10,000 system because it fuels our desire to be the best at what we do. We provide the same level of high-quality across all of our builds, no matter what the selling price of your system is.
As per our email conversation shortly after you posted this review, I read the notes by Chris commenting on your concerns and I wanted to remind you that we are more than happy to cover all expenses and have your system re-built at our facility in an urgent priority manner. In addition, we have extended your warranty coverage as I have promised.
I assure you that the system did not leave our facility in that condition, and even though our boxes are very sturdy, they cannot prevent shipping shocks/damages from the shipping courier transferring to the system chassis. We've seen this happen on a rare occurrence and we'll be more than happy to help you take care of any concerns.
Feel free to get in touch with myself or our management team via email (management@digitalstormonline.com) at any time and we'll do our very best to ensure your concerns are taken care completely.
Cheers,
Jason

I purchased a new system from Digital Storm and it was a great experience. I was first attracted to the company because of its great rated systems and being an older gamer remember the good old days when you could customize your PC order and receive a three year warranty and lifetime tech support all of which are still the case with this company. I was a long time Dell customer but over the years they have become a different company focussed on high volume discounts and limited customization of their systems. I am no expert but know enough to know what vid card I want and that I don't want my new system gummed up with advertisements and free trials. The system I received was a great value and ran trouble free out of the box. The cooling is so good, I can run it all day and the air blowing out the back is still cool. The wires are all routed neatly and upgrades would be easy to install. I also love knowing that I can call for tech support regardless of how old the system is down the road. My system was not their top of the line but was still built with quality and care. In fact, if I ordered the parts and built the system myself, I would have only saved about $150 and would not have had the three year warranty, tech support, or their knowledge to rely on. Digital Storm is a great company with a great product that they stand behind A++++.
