When they sent an email to call them to verify the order the service dept. (Jim) was very short with me on the phone when I didn't want to purchace their extended warranty. Still waiting on the order. (I will give an update on the shipping, he said 3 weeks with the free shipping.)

Took 20 days to tell me they couldn't fulfill my order. This vendor is a joke. Don't let the great prices advertised fool you. Good prices mean nothing if they don't deliver.

WORST COMPANY!!!!!!!!! SHIPPED US A DEFECTIVE CAMERA!!!!!!!!! We ordered a Cannon EOS 5D MKII camera. They sent us a defective one!!!!! We ordered the body of the camera at a cost of $2,625.00. They threw a defective camera in a "kit" box (they removed the lens before sending it to us) and shipped it to us!!! We only ordered the body. We immediately called Cannon when we opened it and discovered that it would NOT work and it gave us an error message. We looked up Cannon's phone number online since there was not an American phone number listed for Cannon in the instruction book. Cannon told us that it would have to be repaired by a camera repair shop before it could be used!!! We also found out that they sent us the European model with European instructions and European phone numbers. We were told on the phone that we could get a full refund when we returned it. When we checked our credit card statement, we discovered that they deducted $262.00 from our credit that we were supposed to receive! When I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to the owner. He said that because we would not exchange the camera, they charged us a "re-stocking fee." I asked him, "Why would I want to do business again with a company who sent us a defective camera?" THEY MADE A COOL $262 BY SHIPPING US A BROKEN CAMERA!!!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!! The owner is also VERY rude!!!!!!!!! We re-ordered a new camera from B & H Photo Video: www.bhphotovideo.com and the camera and ordering experience were both wonderful!!!

Ordered a Canon HFS-100, great price. Had bad experience with Camera Giants (like many other people). Digital Megastore did email to request I call in to confirm - they did a soft sell on additional battery but wasn't a pressure sell and friendly. After turning down battery order was processed. After a few days delay due to being out of stock - they shipped as promised and US product arrived in perfect condition. Overall a good buying experience.

Here’s my 2 cents on Digital Mega Store, I think some customers get their products on time and some do not. I think the reason they offer free shipping is because it gives them more time to find your product if they do not have it in stock, free shipping is 7-10 business days which can come out to 2 full weeks. I was going to purchase a Yamaha RX-V863 from the Digital Mega Store and like most of these reviews say they had the best upfront cost. So, I called to find out why they were $250 cheaper than the normal retail cost of $899. One of the sales got on the phone and he said that the products they sell do not come with a factory warranty, but he could sell me an extended warranty over the phone for $79 or I could pay $100 over their website for the same warranty. I started to ask some technical questions about the receiver and he said he was not sure and wanted to know if I was going to buy the receiver at that moment. I said no, but I had a few more questions. At this point he started rushing me off the phone and said to call back when I was ready to buy. I thought this was a little rude and kind of pushy but I latter found out that this company is based out of New York and if anyone has been to New York you would know that this a normal way of talking for them. Regardless, there should have been a higher level of professionalism at Digital Mega Store. So, now I had to make a decision I could purchase this receiver from the Digital Mega Store $649 plus the extended warranty because this receiver cost too much money not to have warranty. So, now the cost the receiver went up to $749. I did a search on froogle.com on this receiver and some other web sites had pricing similar to that at the Digital Mega Store but they were not well known sites and I may be running the same type of operation as the Digital Mega Store. On my froogle search I also found this receiver on overstock.com for $752.94 this was total price including shipping and it came with a one year factory warranty. So, I bought the receiver at overstock.com, they were super professional, they shipped the receiver right away, and it came with a warranty. So, here is the bottom line if you feel you have no other option because of pricing and want to take a CHANCE on the Digital Mega Store or any other of the new websites, do not expect professional service, do no not expect a warranty, if you buy the extended warranty expect a hard time if you put in for any warranty work, and do not expect on time delivery, and if you do get any on these be happy that you did.

I ordered an Optima video projector. They had the best price on the web and it included free shipping. I was well aware of the many negative ratings, but I was not in a hurry and wanted to see how the order would go. I received an EMail the next day to call them. I did and was told that the free shipping did not include insurance. Tom, the sales rep, initially wanted $69 to insure this $2,800 projector. UPS, of course, charges $7 for this amount of insurance so I balked. After some haggling, Tom offered to insure the shipment for $39. I agreed because the overall cost was still less than other vendors. He said I'd receive an EMail with the tracking number, and I waited. A week later I called them and was told it would ship "today" and I'd receive the tracking number by EMail. The following day I received an EMail to call them. I was again told it would ship "today." Later that same day I received an EMail from Tammy that said that that they "ran out" of this item, they can't get anymore, and that my order was cancelled. This is surprising since it is a new model that is available from many other vendors. So I spent an additional $100 and ordered it from B&H (from whom I really should have ordered it in the first place).

They run a scam. They have had my money for nearly a month and I still do not have the camera  
that I paid for. No one there will give you a straight answer. They lie time after time.

I ordered a Canon D50 camera, 100 - 400mm zoom lens, and a 77mm UV filter on 1-16-09. The store did a good job keeping me informed of my order's status, and it arrived on my doorstep on 1-20-09, as promised. My only problem was that the UV filter was missing. I called Customer Service and talked to Jason. He is sending another filter out tonight. Other than this small glitch, I am pleased with how things went.

You can deal with this company, but don't expect everything to be perfect. It was my first time ordering from Digital Megastore, and my decision was based purely on the advertised attractive price. I, in fact, haven't checked any references or ratings, when placed an order for 2 Hitachi projectors. Upon the order placement I received an Invoice (order acknowledgement" by e-mail, where I found that will be notified about the tracking number. 6 days later, when I haven't got any shipment notification I checked the company rating in the ResellerRating.com, and became very concerned. There are really 2 people answering: sales - Jason, who sounds nice and polite, and the lady in Customer Service, which has worse manners. Thanks to the reviews, I was prepared for it. So, if you deal with this company, be prepared to wait long minutes on-hold, be prepared to not getting your shipment information, be prepared to push the company to get you, what you need. Anyway, first time I've got all assurances that the order is completed, but nobody could give me an exact information. The second day I spoke to Jason, and to my amaisement, he figured everything out and called me back with the tracking number, as promised. The product, in fact, arrived on-time.

Digital Megastore was the WORST online shopping experience I have ever had. I ordered a surround sound system from them for 800.00 and even offered to buy a second one if the price was right. They were only willing to take 5 dollars off the extended warranty. I said no thanks. After never receiving a tracking number I started to call Digital Megastore. They were very rude and always rushed me off the phone. I took 2 days off of work because he said the package was arriving at my house tomorrow. It never came. 2 weeks went by and all that time I called them asking for a tracking number. They promised it shipped. 3 weeks now went by. They also said they were getting tracking numbers tonight (after they close) and would send it to me. I never got it. (They told me this on 5 different occasions) Their customer service email does not work. You try to log into your account it does not work. After calling more than 12 times I asked the lady wheres my package...SHE said "I DONT KNOW" I said has it shipped " SHE said "I dont know" I said, "what do you mean you dont know?" Then I finally was fed up and told her look tell me the truth has this package shipped or not. She told me no it has not shipped. So not only did digital megastore sell me an item that was not in stock they lied to me every single day. I had to call my bank and reported them as Digital took my money out of my account the second day. No one at megastore even cared. Funny one of the phone calls the guy told me its coming tomorrow. I said how do you know that I havent even given u my invoice, order number or what the product was. He just rushed to get me off the phone. Do not buy from them their past reviews are very very bad. Also what a coincidence that nearly every review if you look back has the same sales man NAMED in every review. All the customers name him I dont think so. That is highly unlikely. Look at the better business bereau they give them bad scores as well. They also do have several sites with different names but hmmm all with the same adress. They are crooks. LOL it would seem that someone over there would finally wake up as they have been doing the same lousy service for YEARS!!!

I ordered the SR12 Sony HD camcorder the weekend before Christmas. I got a confirmation call from Steve who offered me other items and extended warrentees but did not push when I said I was not interested. With free shipping the camcorder arrived the day before Xmas. Great price, very fast delivery, no bait and switch tactics. I was very satisfied.

I placed an order with Digital Megastore on 12/13/08 for a 3 to 5 day delivery of a Garmin GPS sytem. It is now 12/22/08 and still no GPS. I called them and they said i'd have it on 12/30/08!! I immediately asked to cancel the order. The guy was rude and said it has already shipped and they didn't even place the order until 12/16/08. He told me if I wanted to cancel the package then to not accept the package when delivered (assuming i'm home that is). If it ends up getting dropped off at my doorstep then I'll take it back to UPS to RETURN TO SENDER. I now have to make sure I get credited with my credit card company. This has been a nightmare b/c this is a Christmas gift and Xmas is in 3 days. I will NEVER order from them again. Very rude customer service people too.

Well after reading several reviews from this site, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge and buy my camcorder. An HG21. I purchased it on the 2nd, recieved an Email to call and verify address. Upon verification I asked if product was in stock, was told it was so I proceeded with the order and tacked on 2-3 day shipping. Day three came, but camera did not. I called and complained and was told camera would ship on friday as there is a max of 3 days for processing. So upon the waiting one more day, I called back and was told the camera was on back order and would ship out today 12/11/08. As of today, the camera is still not expected to come to them untill the 15th now. It wont ship untill the 16th and now I just pray my wife does not give birth to our new child early! Not very happy with them. Not the way it should have been handled.
