"I believe this is a sister, or alias, company to TechonDIGITAL. Same Modus Operendi. (NO posts are being taken at that named site) On the evening of Mar 19, 2008, I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 online and printed the order summary including the request to call and confirm the order before it would be shipped. I called the next morning. Guy finally answers, asks for order number. He states camera battery only lasts 20 minutes. I need to purchase a battery. I say not yet, I just want the camera. He says camera will only take about two pictures, I need an SD Card. I say I have a stack of them and only want the camera. He says it's a nice camera and hangs up. Today I receive this e-mail (and I copy verbatim): -We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us . Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .- I checked their website before this post and the camera is listed as available, but now at $175.00. The SD Card is $59.99 and the battery is $69.99. I do believe this is a dishonest way to do business. I feel almost lucky to have had the order cancelled with no fee charged (yet). I will definitely be monitoring my credit card number. Caveat Emptor!"

"I forgot to write a review for this company for an order that was placed last May. Not sure why I thought of it now but feel it is important to reiterate what everyone else is saying about this company.
At my own stupidity and without doing any research, I ordered a Canon 750 online and was told to call and confirm the order. I was met with an extremely rude customer service person who said he was the owner (not)...he tried to upgrade me to a new battery saying that the one which comes with the camera lasted 15 minutes. When I told him I didn't want it, the man became rude and starting yelling at me. I told him to cancel the order and he said that was not possible. I was looking at their cancellation notice as we were speaking and it said the order could be canceled with no charge if the product had not been shipped out. After telling this guy I was on their cancellation website, he started to tell at me that I was the rude one. I hung up on the guy - they tried to call me right back - I didn't answer and ended up calling my bank and ordering another debit card just to be sure this company didn't charge my account. What a pain! I have NEVER been treated so rudely by anyone! DO NOT order from this company. It is amazing they are still in business."

"I had the same experience as others of ordering a camera and being pressured to buy expensive accessories. When I declined I was told the order would ship. Six days later I checked on the phone for a tracking number and was told the camera was out of stock. This is a scam organization of the worst sort. Do not buy from them."
"After ordering a Canon SD870IS camera we recieved a call from TheDigitalNerds and wanted to sell me high priced accessories. I didn't buy any and the person hung up hurriedly. Three days later the order was cancelled due to out of stock. After checking their site it says the camera is available. If you don't pay the high price for their accessories you won't recieve a low priced product! "
"I mistakenly looked at the reviews of this store using the search engine site ratings, and did not do my usual check of independant store rating site.
Same as many other comments I see here, I ordered a Canon S3-IS and then received an e-mail to call. The web site said that the camera was in stock. The salesman tried to sell me a case, memory, batteries, the works. I told him that I have the exact same camera but broke it and needed an identical replacement, and did not need extra's. He then tried to sell me a 5 year warranty that cost $199 when the camera only cost $189. I mentioned that it was more than the camera so he dropped the price to $129. He offered 512 MB of memory for $49, then 1 Gig for $99, then 2 Gig for $199. Umm... 2 gig of memory is available at the corner store for $29. He did then offer the 2 Gig for the prices of the 1 Gig, with a case tossed in for good measure, but I needed none of them. He then said that I should not use Alkaline batteries because they will damage the camera. Hmm... why does the camera come with 4 alkaline batteries then? I told him that I understand if they can't sell the camera for that price, but he said that I would be receiving my order shortly. Then today, 5 days after the phone call, I get the following letter from them:
--------------------------------------------- We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us . Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order . when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding . ----------------------------------------
What I undersand is this... they wasted my time, so I decided to spend a few more minutes and let people out there know that this store is of the lowest quality and should be avoided like the plague.
During the entire process, I never got upset with the salesman. He is probably making most of his salary on the commissions from the sales of the hyper-mark-up items that he was trying to push. They just simply canceled the order because it would be a money-loser of non-profit case. Their business plan includes wasting lots of people's time.
"thedigitalnerds suck big time. The original purchase was a Canon S% IS. Since I didn't purchase their overpriced "additional items" they canceled my order. What BS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. "
"After placing the order I was informed by email to give them a call. I was told that I had to purchase a memory card as well otherwise they could not sell me the product I ordered. After refusing, I was told that the product ordered was out of stock. The person I talked with was very rude. This company is a fraud. Their memory cards are extremely over priced. Watch out!!! "
"Placed an order for a camera, received an email to call them to confirm, which I did. They then proceeded to try to sell me accessories, which I declined, then told me the manual was in Japanese, and that the jacks on the camera were european style and that it would cost an additional $100.00 to get the American version! What a scam operation, I told them to cancel my order! Stay away from these guys!"
"BEWARE - DO NOT USE DIGITALNERDS - YOU WILL BE SORRY!
Placed order with DigitalNerds.com for Canon DS850 digital camera. Received email asking to call for confirmation. Called and was told battery life of camera was only 15 minutes and offered a secondary battery for 4x the price I found it on other sites. I responded thank-you for offering, but please ship only the camera. Operator was polite and stated that the camera will be shipped within next two days. Today I received an email that the camera is not expected to be in stock for 6-10 weeks and the order was cancelled. However, their site and others pointing to their site say it is in STOCK.
"Items aren't in stock and you must call to "confirm" your order only to be offered ridiculous prices on unnecessary items. When you don't buy any of the extras they hang up on you. After a few weeks you call to get status and are told that the item is out of stock. Then, if you call to order one, it is in stock. When you ask them about the discrepancy they hang up on you. These people are dishonest and have no ethical values. They have multiple sites under different names and even a rating site that promotes 5 star ratings - watch out for sites that have matching prices."
"Great price,in stock, entered order. The next day I get an e-mail that says to call an 800 number to confirm the order.I call to confirm the order and the sales agent tried to sell me memory cards and batteries which I told him I already had. Five hours later I got an e-mail that said the camera was back-ordered for six weeks and my order was canceled.Avoid this seller like the plague!"
"Similar story, they advertised Canon SD750 for a very good price. Took the order, then I received an E-mail to confirm the order by phone. When I called, the operator said that this camera is not available and hung up. When I called second time in order to get cancellation confirmation he hung up again. I canceled my credit. I wonder if anybody finally bought something from this company. If they do not really cell anything, then it is clear that they steal CC numbers. It is interesting that this company has an excellent rating on www.everyprice.com. They are, probably, the members of the same gang. "
"They called me after receiving my order(which was in stock) and wanted to sell me extremely overpriced batteries and memory for a camera. After I declined these extras they canceled my order and told me not to reorder with their company again."
"EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT ONLINE RIGHT NOW AND LET'S PUT THEM IN THE SLAMMER! JUST CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NEW YORK ATTORNEY GENERAL:
www.OAG.state.NY.US -"Communities" link -"Internet Concerns" link -"File A Complaint" link -Then find the appropriate link that matches your complaint.
I wish I would have checked out "resellerratings.com" before I dealt with this company. These jerk New Yorkers need to be prosecuted, sued, then thrown in jail for a very long time so they can get what they deserve for yelling and cursing at all of us. I got into a HUGE uneccessary fight with my wife because she placed the order and I thought she screwed up. Later that day we realized that they were just trying to screw us with the same exact story that all the other posts have made. I called the State Attorney General in New York and I filled out the online complaint form. WE ALL MUST COMPLAIN TO GET THEM OUT OF BUSINESS AND PROSECUTED FOR FRAUD. DON'T GET MAD, JUST GET EVEN. I WANT TO GIVE THAT JERK WHAT HE DESERVED!"
