I placed an order for a Canon 450d XSi and within an hour canceled it. The salesperson (#125) was pleasant on the phone but tried to upsell me on a battery for $79 claiming the included Canon battery would die in 45 minutes. I was also pressured to buy an extended warranty. These two things did not bother as much as the fact that he also said the camera was not a grey market camera. After placing my order, I read many negative reviews and called back to question him on his statements. He rescinded and I cancelled. I will stay far away from Digicombos. Shame on you dpreview.com for recommending them.

My over all experience with digicombs was ok. Customer services was okay and pleasent. There was just few things that bothered me. Once I placed my order online, I don't understand why they had to call me or I call them just to verify my order. The conversation was only to try upsell me on items I really didn't need. The only thing I have to complain really about is that I places my order before 11 that day and paied extra for over night shipping and got my item two days later. They same day that I purchased my item I called back for an traking or way number. I was told that I would be getting an email with my information which I got two days later after placing my order. overall, I can say that this was a okay transaction. I just wish they didnt try to upsell when you call or they call. That was big turn off for me.

My shopping experience was good. I liked the fact that on the same page I could see offers to all sorts of add-ons for the specific camera I chose. The price was low relative to other online stores.
However, my billing experience was cumbersome. Living out of the US and shipping to a US address has made the process unclear to the seller. I am not recieving my camera on-time for this reason. Nonetheless, was customer service was good and prompt.

A friend recommended this site to me, and I was very pleased with the results. The price was excellent, and the sales representative (Joel), most helpful. An excellent product at an excellent price complete with excellent service; what more can one say to laud one's shopping experience? Will shop again. The camera and your service have been wonderful to this point. I will be using the camera to take photos at my daughter's medical school graduation from The Ohio State University this Friday.

I read the reviews, I knew the retailer was questionable, but there did seem to be some authentic positive reviews. I placed the order over the phone so I didn't have to bother with them calling me back to confirm my order. They had no problem selling me a D300 Nikon without purchasing any other accessories. I asked if the camera was the USA model with US warranty and complete with all accessories. He said "yes" to all questions. I recorded the phone call just in case. When I got the camera the box was the "J" model, meaning Japan, meaning Gray Market. Nikon service verified. While shipping was very fast and free, the sales associate flat-out LIED about the camera being covered under the US warranty. Nikon US will not touch the camera, not even if paid to do so. ANY service must be shipped to Japan. I really thought this price was good, but not "too good" as I've seen it at that price occasionally at Dell and Costco. The camera had a LOT of dust on the sensor right-out of the box. I don't blame digi-combos for this, but that is why I contacted nikon serivce to begin with. Also, according to the box the camera came packaged with Nikon CaptureNX which it did not. There was also no registration number. It is either supposed to contain a reg number or a cd and it had neither. And lastly, they placed a USA Warranty registration card in the box with the camera, probalby to fool you into thinking the camera really was covered. The only way to tell if it is grey market is by looking at the box bar code, just above it there is a model: D300 (J)

I ordered a Canon Digital Rebel XSi from Digicombos on the 4th of May. The next day they sent me an email saying I had to call and confirm my order. I called and gave him the necessary information, and also asked if it was the USA version of the camera and if it came with an original USA warranty, and he answered both to be yes. Afterwards he tried selling me another battery, claiming "the battery supplied by Canon in the kit lasts only 45 minutes", which I know to be BS.
The next day we receive a call saying I need to confirm my order, despite already having called it in the previous day. I called and confirmed it again, apparently he was having trouble billing it because my credit card was SOMEHOW under my old address, at which time I did not even have a credit card.
After that, the order was finally shipped on May 8th, and was attempted to be delivered on May 14 at 3 pm. Noone was home at that time, nor would be on the next 2 consecutive business days, which is when they would try to deliver again.
I called FedEx and they said I wouldn't be able to pick up my package at a local FedEx/Kinko's because it was Home Delivery. I finally arranged to have it delivered on Saturday, May 17. The funny part is they called saying they thought we were a business and that is why they delivered early, not sure whose mistake that was.
Saturday, May 17, 13 days after placing the order, I receive the camera. To no surprise, it turns out to be the JAPANESE version, NOT the USA version. (Kiss X2). I opened the box to find it has NO ORIGINAL WARRANTY CARD, but some 3rd party "USA warranty". Thankfully, everything appears to be in perfect working order, and it has all the claimed accessories that come with it, minus the ""Great Photography is Easy" Booklet and "Do More with Macro" Booklet", which I didn't need anyways.
I checked on the Canon website, clicked "Arrange a repair", and entered my serial number and purchase date, and it says the camera is under warranty. So good news, but I am VERY disappointed in DigiCombos as a seller, as they lied to me about the camera being the USA warranty, and it was a large hassle having to call to confirm my order, TWICE.
I would not recommend this seller and won't be buying again. You get what you pay for, I bought the camera for under the MSRP and I paid the price.

I ordered a Canon 40D camera for $1045 + 52 shipping. The camera arrived without Canon (or any other) warranty and it was a grey market item. I emailed DigiCombos right away but they won't return my emails. Very bad experience.
EDIT: The camera was USED - but sold as new. This review was modified by its author, Kotik, on

I liked both the buying experience and the price of Canon 40D kit. I had to have a pleasant conversation to "confirm" the order and discuss some accessories that could go along... Not a big deal. The product arrived on time. Everything was new and as listed on the web site.

Initially, my order was incomplete. Only one phone call and Ralph (phone ext. 105) straightened everything out. I had some questions re: lens attachment and called again. Again, Ralph was very, very helpful and very professional. I wouldn't buy from anyone else!! Thanks you guys! Bob Stannard - Vermont
