After the order was placed on Feb 16, 2010 they canceled it on Mar 8, 2010 under the excuse that PayPal didn't authorize the payment - and THEY ARE LYING (PayPal didn't reject any of the charges on my acct this year - including theirs which is still shown as "pending"). I tried to resolve this through their "customer service" - they sent me the same canned reply. Don't waste your time with those MORONS.

like a few others have expressed,,,I AM SHOCKED at the low ratings. as one person mentioned, if your order is time-critical, order elsewhere. it takes 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. but here's the deal, there's no place cheaper and shipping is FREE.  
 
if anyone has problems about changing the order,,,then do it right the first time!!! if i had to choose between sacrificing savings/freeshipping for faster delivery,,,i wouldn't. just when you think you've seen a low price, ddd has a lower price.

DVD shipped within 2 days, but took over 2 weeks to receive it. Customer service require 3 weeks before they will provide a refund or reship. Also, DVD case arrived cracked, possibly damaged during shipment by USPS.

Order was never received, sent multiple emails, they either tell you to wait up to 10 business days, or just no reply. Called the customer service after 3 weeks for full refund, they tried to ship me another one, and finally promised to credit my account, but never did that. Have to call the credit card company for dispute. Few dollars saving can cause so much trouble.

This company is terrible. It's been over 11 days since the company says the merchandise shipped. It doesn't take 11 days to send something through the post office. I was told that if I didn't get my order, I could place it again on 1/4/2010. Does that make any sense to anyone?  
 
I've asked for a refund, we'll see what happens

I have always been a fan of DeepDiscount. They have always had the best price and delivery was never a problem. However, their low prices are a thing of the past. Case in point, Star Trek Season 3 on Blu Ray. Amazon is selling it for $52.99, Walmart for $52.86 and J&R for $51.99. In the past, on release date most vendors had a sale price. Amazon and Walmart are still selling the DVD at that price. DeepDiscount never dropped their price below $82.55. That is not even a competetive price! Sure you can email for a price match but why bother! Also, with Amazon, if you pre-order, you will be charged the lowest price between the date you order and release date. With Deep Discount, you get the higher pre-order price so there is no benefit to pre-ordering. It has been a long time since I have seen DeepDiscount beat the competition. I always check but never seem to buy there anymore.

This is the second time that I have used deep discount. I used pricegrabber and it showed that they had the best price. Basically I have the same issues as everyone else. I ordered something only to be told that it was backordered, although nowhere on their website did it say this. When something is backordered there is an indeterminable time when it will come in. Horrible customer service they said it takes 24 hours for the website to catch up and show an out-of-stock status. I canceled my order. I will NEVER use them and I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to do so. Trust me, pay a little more somewhere else.

Here are some things you need to know in ordering from deepdiscount... . Do not order if getting the item is time critical since there is no way to know how long it will take to get your order. Sometimes things have shipped in a few days, others were backordered indefinitely, and you cannot tell what is really available prior to ordering. Some things may be automatically cancelled after a month, I think. (2) To cancel something requires phoning them, checking your order on-line the next day, then phoning again if necessary. Rinse and repeat. (3)It is difficult to cancel if part of your order is in the process of being shipped; this is an unintentional or intentional flaw in their system; it could be fixed but they leave it. Recently, one of their reps couldn't cancel a backordered item, but she arranged for a supervisor to do it after closing time. So, good marks for the rep but bad for the system. (This was one week after another rep said he had cancelled the item but hadn't.)  
I don't understand other folks' problem with ordering by mistake. You have to enter all the usual stuff to get through the ordering process. However, as with many sites you have to empty your cart before you leave if you don't want to come back with the stuff still there.  
So, deepdiscount's low prices are a mixed blessing. Caveat emptor!

I ordered a video game from deepdiscount.com and although the shipping speed was slow the item was perfect. I have ordered from them a couple of times and never had any problems. If you need something right away look somewhere else but if you want a deal this is the place.

Be forewarned that one cannot cancel, change, or delete an order once placed, even when attempted immediately after placement. A misleading (to me) coupon received led me to believe that I would get 40% off $151.89 DVD set. Amazon's sells for $25 less but I considered DD's 40% off a better deal. Well, I thought I was clicking to a review page but found that I had erroneously ordered @ $151.89. I attempted to cancel the order on site immediately; on my acct. site I sent email to cancel, and I phoned cust. serv. as soon as they opened for business same morning. However, I was put on hold repeatedly for up to half an hour at a time. The next day early cs ans. finally after 15-20 min. on hold and I was told, "Sorry, too late. We don't cancel after an order is placed. Deep Discount dosen't allow cancellations on site even when attempted immediately after placement, or by phone either." Three days later I'm notified it's being shipped! I will refuse the pckg unopened & return to sender upon arrival and dispute any charges to my credit card. I've been happy with Deep Discount in the past but will never respond to another coupon with a promise of any large % off, and I'm now wary of this seller.

Placed a simple order for one music CD shown on deepdiscount.com as "in stock" on their web page. Waited 2-weeks for the order and never received. They do not respond to order issues. This is NOT A SITE TO RISK YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH!!

I was surprised when I saw the low rating for Deepdiscount (or Deepdiscountdvd). I have made about 100 seperate orders for more than 100 DVDs from them since 2003 and have never had a problem. I came to write this review because of an extremely positive experience I have just had with their customer service. It was a very rapid response with a positive outcome and one in which I felt they went beyond any obligations. I will not hesitate purchasing from them again. With no tax and free shipping, their end price is generally as good as can be found.

DeepDiscount has terrible customer service and advertises items they don't have in stock. I ordered a DVD for a friend's Christmas present on Nov27th. However, the DVD did NOT come until mid-January! I tried contacting customer support, but they did not reply to my request. Terrible company, will never buy from them again!

Awful shipping time. I ordered the Matrix Trilogy movie set. 4 days later I got the mail that it was shipped on that date. It took me 2 weeks to receive it but their shipping address and my hometown are just 4-hours away. I could have made 20 trips in that two weeks time. Also, the DVD set's quality is so bad that even VHS tape would be better. So, there goes the old saying 'you get what you pay for'. I made purchases from them in the past so didn't bother checking their ratings here. Wish I did before ordering this time. Now, I'm concerned even to order blu-ray discs.

Do yourself a favor and do not ever order any item from Deep Discount. This company has extremely bad business practices. First, they never delivered one order. After nearly 4 weeks, they shipped the item. Then an order I placed a couple days after I placed that order, they again never shipped the item. I repeatedly asked them about my order and could never get a response from them. In addition, I asked for a refund since it was nearly 4 weeks later. Only after threatening contacting the Better Business Bureau did they refund my money. This is a horrible company that will steal your money and never send your product. Watch out for them.
