I was surprised when I saw the low rating for Deepdiscount (or Deepdiscountdvd). I have made about 100 seperate orders for more than 100 DVDs from them since 2003 and have never had a problem. I came to write this review because of an extremely positive experience I have just had with their customer service. It was a very rapid response with a positive outcome and one in which I felt they went beyond any obligations. I will not hesitate purchasing from them again. With no tax and free shipping, their end price is generally as good as can be found.

DeepDiscount has terrible customer service and advertises items they don't have in stock. I ordered a DVD for a friend's Christmas present on Nov27th. However, the DVD did NOT come until mid-January! I tried contacting customer support, but they did not reply to my request. Terrible company, will never buy from them again!

Awful shipping time. I ordered the Matrix Trilogy movie set. 4 days later I got the mail that it was shipped on that date. It took me 2 weeks to receive it but their shipping address and my hometown are just 4-hours away. I could have made 20 trips in that two weeks time. Also, the DVD set's quality is so bad that even VHS tape would be better. So, there goes the old saying 'you get what you pay for'. I made purchases from them in the past so didn't bother checking their ratings here. Wish I did before ordering this time. Now, I'm concerned even to order blu-ray discs.

Do yourself a favor and do not ever order any item from Deep Discount. This company has extremely bad business practices. First, they never delivered one order. After nearly 4 weeks, they shipped the item. Then an order I placed a couple days after I placed that order, they again never shipped the item. I repeatedly asked them about my order and could never get a response from them. In addition, I asked for a refund since it was nearly 4 weeks later. Only after threatening contacting the Better Business Bureau did they refund my money. This is a horrible company that will steal your money and never send your product. Watch out for them.

i accidently ordered twice because their website gave me errors which led to pages full of ads so i thought none of the orders went through. well later on i check my email and it says both orders went through. great! so i can just cancel one order and still get what i need, right?  
 
well they take some time to give me an automated response telling me how to check the status of my orders, which i've already done. about 12 hours later when i was already in bed i got another email saying they couldn't cancel either order for the same item because they have been processed and ready to be shipped.  
 
i only ordered a dvd and a book, and the book was backordered. they cant even cancel the books because the dvds were being shipped. when i checked the order status it didnt even ship yet! best part of the email is when i saw "We appreciate your business."  
 
i've been shopping with them for a while but i'll stick to amazon from now on.

Deceptive business practices!  
 
On January 30th I preordered a video game that was releasing on February 17th. Deepdiscount took far more preorders than they could handle, and the game was not shipped on it's release date(the whole PURPOSE of a preorder). On February 23rd I emailed them to ask when it would ship and received a shipping confirmation a few hours later. It contained no tracking information for the package.  
 
13 business days later, I still had not received my item. I doubt it was ever really sent.  
 
I was offered a reshipment, and when I agreed, I was then told the game was backordered with no expected restocking date(the game in question is a Collectors Edition, which will NOT be reprinted). I asked instead for a refund, which after 4 days I still have not received(though I received confirmation of my order being cancelled within hours).  
 
To this day, the game that they KNOW they cannot restock is still on their site and listed as in stock. They are still taking people's money for a game they can't possibly deliver.  
 
Thanks to them I not only had to wait over a month to get the game(from another store), but I missed my chance(forever) at getting a copy of the collector's edition(unless I want to pay 4x the msrp for it on ebay)  
 
Absolutely terrible.

I placed an order for 4 fragrances on the 1st of February. I specified a shipping address other than my billing that was a place of business. I know inputted the full address with business name because it stated it on the confirmation screen. I chose the Standard Delivery which (supposedly) takes 5 to 10 business days for delivery. I received two email confirmations as they broke the order up into two shipments and Estimated Arrival dates of 2/14/09 - 2/19/09 and 2/13/09 - 2/18/09. On 2/17 I contacted them to let them know that I did not receive anything yet. It was then that I realized that the shipping address in the confirmation email did not have the company name. So somewhere in their fulfillment process the address was transcribed, typed, or entered incorrectly. I logged into their site and of course the address was correct there. So I receive an email from customer service stating "Packages shipped via USPS Media Mail may take up to 15 business days to arrive and do not carry a tracking number. If you do not receive your package by 02/24, please reply to this e-mail we can reship the lost item to the below address." Funny how things are now the 24th instead of the 18th or 19th. So I wait till the 24th but I already know the package is lost because it's a 48 story office building and the 4th Floor alone has 10 companies. On the 24th I email them the obvious and they state "Thank you for the address confirmation. We are in the process of reshipping the following items under order # 22640124:". Of course they only mention three of the four items. Also the new order number that gave me for this shipment was not in their system (as far as I could see) as of the 25th. Amazon can take a long time sometimes but not four weeks. I would avoid ordering from these people as it doesn't seem that their fulfillment process isn't accurate at all and they don't seem to card whether or not you get your merchandise or not. And why wouldn't you reship the items expedited and or traceable. They screwed up I entered my address correctly so they are to blame. Never again.  
 
**Update** they have sent an email with an Estimated Arrival date: 3/07/09 - 3/12/09 so I will "hopefully" receive my items more than a month after I ordered them. They also canceled an item that was shipped separately before (because it came back return to sender because they screwed up the address). DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I have been ordering from DDD for about five years and have never had a problem. They are very good about keeping you up to date with any backorder items. They have a sale once or twice a year that blows everyone else's prices away. Don't listen to the whiners and give them a chance.

I recently ordered a calendar from DeepDiscount.com as a Christmas gift. It was my first, and will be my last. I usually check resellerratings.com before making my first purchase with a merchant. Unfortunately, I didn't this time or I would have saved myself some time and trouble.  
 
Their website reflected that the item was in stock. I received the initial order confirmation, which to be honest I did not read closely. Several days later, after receiving no further communication, I decided to log in and check my order status. Much to my suprise and disappointment, the order was still "processing" and showed that it was backordered.  
 
To their credit, the original order confirmation email they sent did say it was "On-order" and "Temporarily Out of Stock". And they also responded to my request to cancel VERY quickly. But it never should have come to that. It is clear from the other reviews here that this company has a major issue with selling items on their website that they do not have in stock. They have clearly had this issue for some time and apparently have not addressed it. Their response to my cancellation request stated that their website was not updated with the status of the item at the time I placed my order. Well, it's still not updated. Clearly, based on this instance and many many previous reviews, deepdiscount.com does not care that their website continues to sell items that are not in stock.  
 
So if you want to avoid wating time and a hassle, stay away from this merchant.

Needed a present for my girl so placed an order for Horse Life DS game. It was "In Stock". Got a confirmation email stating it's "In Stock". Waited a few days for the shipment notification and then checked the account. Oops, now the status was "Back ordered". Curiously, the product webpage still showed it in stock. Called and was told that the item is back-ordered. When I said that I have an email from them stating it's in stock, the response indirectly suggested that I am a liar. Wow!  
My advice is to buy somewhere else rather than trying to save a buck or two.

Deep Discount DVD is a fantastic seller. I have never been less than satisfied buying from them. They put out discounts pretty regularly (hence the name) and I've had nothing but good experience with their shipping.  
 
Most recently I bought Band of Brothers miniseries on BluRay for $40. A steal! Shipped fast and reliably, as with my past orders.

What a horrible time I had ordering a blu-ray from this company. I ordered the WALL-E blu-ray on their site on Nov 18, and emmediatly realized I had ordered the wrong one (because their site has the completely WRONG information on it). I called them up within 5 minutes of placing the order to cancel so I can order the right one, and was told that they couldn't cancel it because IT HAD ALREADY SHIPPED! Obviously this was a lie since I had just ordered it 5 minutes prior, and I received an email 2 days later saying that it had shipped that day.  
- Incorrect info on website  
- Horrible customer service  
- Horrible ship times ( I won't get the blu-ray until December - thats 2 weeks for shipping)  
 
I'll stick with Amazon for now on to purchase my movies, I guess I had to learn the hard way.  
Deepdiscount, if you read these, you should be ashamed of yourselves for treating your customers like dirt.
