Very Fast delivery of product, so far my new Tivo HD with upgraded Hard Drive is great!!!

My Tivo was hung at the "powering up" point. A search on Google indicated that 99% chance my hard drive had failed on 5yr old Tivo. I saw links and then good reviews to DVRUpgrade. I took a chance and spent $88 for a replacement hard drive. I had never opened a computer box before, but I dove in. In about 15 minutes following the instructions/pictures provided, I had restored my Tivo - and preserved my lifetime subscription! DVRUpgrade worked just as promised.

I want to thank DVRupgrade for sharing there knowledge for a beginner level electronics hobbiest. Their information lead me in the correct direction to diagnois my problem. Their shipping was fast (I was in a hurry too) and packaging second to none. Simple installation, DVR reboot, then DVR settup menu. Walla, works beautiful.

Thanks DVRupgrade. I was looking for the most economical way to get my DirecTV TiVo back up and running after a Hard Drive falure (series II 40GB). I already had a 80GB drive in an unused PC so I Figured I'd try the InstantCake software. I'm not the most computer savy but I have done basic upgrades with drives and video cards before. Within minutes I had the drive set up as prescribed and It booted from the disk. Then the InstantCake walked me throught the rest with ease. I then dropped the new drive into my TiVo and was back up and running with twice as much recording space as before. Thank you!

My Tivo had only showed the "Welcome powering up" screen and based on comments on the dvrupgrade site I bought and replaced the disk drive with the 160 GB upgrade. The ordering process was straightforward. The item shipped before Christmas and it came securely packaged.  
 
The best part was the actual product. From opening the package to removing my old hard drive and replacing it with this new much BIGGER hard drive, 5 minutes elapsed. I even read the directions!  
 
20 minutes or so after the physical replacement, I was up and running (after getting my Tivo back on my home network, setting a couple of recordings, etc.)! This is a fantastic product from a fantastic company. I don't think I'll need to think about where to go next time I need something for a Tivo.
