"I purchased some in-ceiling speakers for my home theater surround system and upon opening one of them, realized that I ordered the incorrect speakers for my application. I immediately called customer service (on a Saturday) and the representative was very courteous and helpful. As the correct speakers were in stock and the same price, she emailed me prepaid shipping label to return the speakers and set up an even exchange, waiving the standard return charge. Once they received the returned speakers, I received a confirmation email and a few days later the correct speakers were delivered. I will not hesitate to purchase from Crutchfield in the future."
"I purchased a $600-worth digital camera from Crutchfield. They sent me a used camera that needed cleanup. When I complained they offered me advanced replacement. But later, they just changed their mind and said that the advanced replacement offer was made by mistake. They could never properly record the nature of my complaint and I had to repeat the whole store to every new CE rep that I spoke with. In their emails they kept misspelling my very simple name. I do not feel that I should ever order anything from Crutchfield ever again."
"Having believed all the hype about Crutchfield, I placed an order with them. The confirmation e-mail arrived and provided me with the status of my order, everything seemed to be in good standing. I then received a delivery notification from UPS stating that the delivery had been made to my billing address and not my shipping address as was clearly delineated on my invoice. I immediately phoned up the customer service department and spoke to the most disinterested customer service representative that I had ever spoken to, in fact her first option was for me to cancel my order. I explained that I had already invested my time into researching the equipment that I had ordered and would much prefer that the shipment get to sent to my shipping address. I was then asked to help UPS recover the package from my billing address and had to explain that the mistake was not mine to resolve. After numerous correspondence, I finally received a commitment that I would receive a new shipment and that the delivery company would notify me upon shipping. The new shipment was supposed to be a 24 hour expedited delivery. It has been 24 hours and I still haven't received notification of my replacement shipment. I guess that return business from satisfied customers is not part of the Crutchfield business model. Go elsewhere and get better customer service."
"We ordered a head unit to replace our old one that had tape player in it (the car is old). Crutchfield shipped everything we needed (even some screws that were essential). This was our first time replacing a head unit, so we had some questions. Three easy phone calls later, everything works perfectly. I would highly recommend this merchant for car stereos."
"First and last time customer.I had placed an order for a plasma TV with Crutchfield. I then received an email stating they were unable to ship to my freight forwarding company . I live on an island in Alaska and the only way to get freight here is by boat.I buy stuff all the time from alot of other online companies and this is the first one that refused to ship to the Washington address.But that`s OK I`ll give my business to the companies that want it. "Terrible experience. They said they could ship to the address on file with the credit card company and then refused to. I asked for a form of shipping that would ship and they sent the package without an address or my name on it, making it impossible to pick up. They told me to contact the shipping company, the shipping company forwarded me to the subcontractor and the subcontractor told me to deal with them. Ridiculous customer service that could have been avoided if I had used my paypal address - major credit card isn't acceptable for them. My package is now stuck in limbo and it was time-sensitive. STAY AWAY!"
"I am going to date myself but I have purchased from Crutchfield since the early 1980's through their catalogs. This is before the internet, Best Buy, Amazon.com, etc LOL! In fact, much of its current competition never existed back then! Crutchfield definitely was the "got to" resource when it came to finding out which car radios/speakers fit your car and still are. They also carry (and still do again) higher end audiophile-quality products not carried anywhere else. Crutchfield always known for its top notch customer service and speedy deliveries and super easy return/exchange processes. I have purchased many items throughout the years with no problems - but now with current competition from big box electronics stores - you definitely need to shop around. With all its positives, it always has had an ongoing negative which is their prices tend to be "full retail" but with that you get excellent customer service, no gray market items and lifetime tech support to compensate. The reason I did not give them a full "5" star review is becuase of their higher prices - especially on video products (ie TV's) - where you can go to your local Best Buy and purchase the identical item for significantly less. "

"My item was shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived right on schedule in perfect condition. My only complaint would be that the shipping costs are a little steep, but all in all it was a very smooth transaction and I would definitely buy from them again."
