I don't even know how I found out about Geeks.com, but I think somebody recommended it to me. I placed my first order in January 2002 and I have been delighted with their products ever since. I just placed my 55th order the other night. I tend to judge a business on whether I would shop there again. After seven years and 55 orders, it is safe to say that I judge Geeks.com pretty highly. I highly recommend them to everyone.
Ordered on 10/24/09, had it by 10/30/09 and in good shape. This is the normal, consistently good service of Geeks.com. Their prices are good, their website is well operated, and it is fairly easy to order from them. Thumbs up.
I have ordered from Geeks.com on 2 occasions. Shipping is a bit retarded but anything they told me they would give me, they have followed through with. I had a problem with a product that arrived broken and they shipped out a new one and did not ask me to return the old one. Are they perfect, probably not. But every time I try to contact them I get a prompt reply or a nice person over the phone eager to help. I would give them a 4 star rating only because of the odd shipping practices and to leave some room for disappointment in case I ever have an issue. They are a great retailer and I have purchased from them a total of 4 times, 2 through Amazon. I will surely do business with them again until/unless I have a problem and would highly recomment them to friends and family. I check their website DAILY. I think I may be addicted. And for good reason. They have great deals and great customer service
I ordered Kodak EasyShare through Geeks.com. I got prompt delivery & then nightmare started. Camera was defective, it was getting switched off every 5 minutes. I returned it and after a long delay I got the substitute. A different model without me knowing about it. I was never asked that they are going to send a different model all together. I would have been okay with it but there was no cable sent with this different model. I was not able to hook it up with computer. When I complained, I was sent an incompatible cable. When I complained again, I was told that I will get a replacement cable. I was waiting for the replacement & after few days I checked with customer service again. This time somebody else replied saying that they sent the correct cable last time. Nothing can be done. So a July 8th order is still unusable on 27th Oct. Terrible customer service. I am very disappointed and gave up on it. I have asked for a RMA number to return the unit. I am not sure if I will get my money back, I have to bear the shipping costs twice.
Terrible experience. I won't recommend anyone to buy anything from Geeks.com
I've purchased from them through buy.com market place. The monitor was shipped without appropriate packing, so it came in damaged. I called the customer support and explained what happened and they issued an RMA for full refund without a hassle. I was able to check the status of my case on their web site. the only thing I lost was time - 24 days from purchase to receiving refund.
as of 10/23/09 I still have not received my order which was to be her on the 10/22 and finally showed receipt from FedEx on 10/22 which was the day it was estimated to be delivery and when I contacted Geeks they told me that that was wrong that it was in transit to Memphis, Tn. Why would a company send somethig all most to the east cost to get it to central kansas. This makes no sense to me at all. They told me that is how they ship things. Crazy and will probable not order form them again as I did not expect to have to wait 8 days to get items form the west coast. Why send it from the west coast to the east cost and back half way across the country(waist money I guess). Order number: W4540152
Ship date and time: 10/17/2009 at 9:39:00 am (PST)
Shipping Method: FedEx Ground
and this is from the email I got form Geeks on Mon 10/19/2009 10:04 AM. Why lie to customer if you are not going to ship for 5 or 6 days later. Not good business pratice. This is realy poor customer relations. Prices are good but order 2 weeks before you need it or you might be disapointed with the results. The charged me for it day after I ordered it so the had my money a week free. BAD DEAL
Signed
VERY UPSET PAST CUSTOMER

According to our tracking records, your package did ship from our warehouse on 10/17/09. It arrived at the Federal Express sort facility in Memphis, TN on 10/22/09 and delivered to you on 10/24/09. All Federal Express Ground shipments normally take 5-7 business days to be delivered. This information is provided during the check out process on the Geeks.com website to help customers get an idea on shipping transit time. A shipping confirmation with the tracking number is also sent with every order.
Midwest orders are put on an Express truck from our location in Southern California and shipped to the main Federal Express sort facility in Memphis, TN. The estimated delivery date shown in the tracking represents when this package will reach Memphis. Once scanned at Memphis, the tracking will become updated. Federal Express was not able to track your package until it was scanned in Memphis, which again, usually takes 2-3 business days from when the order left our warehouse. Perhaps this is what caused you some confusion.

My order was filled promptly and in pefect condition. The prices at Geeks.com can't be beat or even matched locally. I order regularly from Tigerdirect because of their incredibly fast delivery, but Geeks in more than competive price-wise.
Sigh! Another bum hard drive from Compgeeks... caught this one in time to get an RMA... I have three other Seagate Hard Drives (2 200 GB and 1 400 GB) that were either DOA or died outside 90 days. The 400 GB was an RMA replacement for one that was DOA. Guess Geeks.com & Seagate Drives = no go! Too bad, cause I like Geeks! Also, stay away from the Dell GX280 refurbs...bad capacitors!
Note, received a call back from Geeks about this review... Told him about the RMA in progress, received no assurances other than they'd check the drive before shipping it. My other three drives? Chalk them up to experience.

On behalf of Geeks.com I would like to apologize if the products you had received from our company were faulty. Geeks.com works diligently to make sure all items sold are in good working condition. The item was sold as a Seagate Factory Recertified drive and came with a one year warranty supported by Geeks.com.
Per our conversation on 10/22/09 when the defective drive is returned via a FedEx prepaid label, the replacement will be sent via FedEx overnight expedited shipping.
We want nothing more than your complete satisfaction and hope that this situation does not deter you from continuing to shop with us. My direct contact information is provided below for any further questions.

returned a defective item, refund was never issued. it wasn't much money, but i guess they really need it. from the other reviews it seems this problem is typical.

Purchased a Monitor and received it. Upon powering on the monitor it was found to be defective with dead pixels. I shipped the item back to Geeks.com, and was informed that they would send me a replacement. After 2 weeks I received the “replacement”, which turned out to be the SAME EXACT MONITOR with dead pixels.
I contact geeks.com AGAIN and they told me to ship it back to them AGAIN, so I paid to ship it back to them AGAIN. By the time they receive it for the 2nd time it had been over 6 weeks from the purchase date, so I had to purchase a monitor elsewhere because I needed one, which I got without dead pixels. Now they will not give me a refund without a 15% "Restocking Fee".
So not only will they not give me a refund stating that "dead pixels" are common amongst LCD monitors and that there is a disclaimer on their website buried in some fine print somewhere, but they are planning to restock this defective item and sell it to the next poor customer that orders from them. They are knowingly and intentionally selling defective equipment.
Unless you’re ordering a paperweight or toilet paper I wouldn’t purchase from these guys, unless of course you want broken equipment that has probably been returned to them numerous times already.
My RMA# is/was G225667
----UPDATE 10/10/09----
Upon further review Geeks.Com customer service refunded the total amount for my purchase. I'm still out about 6 weeks and 20 bucks to ship the item back but thats all I could ask of them.
