"I was very dissapointed in the website ordering, the customer service, and the way my product was handled/shipped. I was frustrated that before prossesing my order and shiping, they required that i call them so they could attempt to "up sell" me on their extended insurance packages. They also told me that my product would not be covered under MFG warrenty, which was flat out false. They then attempted to sell me a fan that i explicity said that i did not need due to the fact that i already had a better fan then what they wished to sell me. They then sent my product to me, with a fan affixed to the motherboard, with CPU installed and a cheap thermal compound that was very difficult to fully remove. again something i asked NOT to have put on my product as i had purchased a special compound for the cpu. the person i talked to on the phone did not even speak english well enough to understand that when i said "all i want is the motherboard and CPU, NO fan, NO thermal compound" i meant exactly what i said. I do not intend to purchase from this retailer again due to the horrible customer service, the inablilty to understand english and provide me with the product that i ordered. i did not appreciate having to do additional work to remove the things that i did not order, and risk dammage to my components in the process.
I do not reccoment this Resaler for the purchase of Motherboard/CPU combo packages"

Upon reading the feedback from pricewatch.com for this company, I discovered this has been a fairly commonplace practice, which bothered me to some extent, I might not have ordered from them if I knew beforehand that they did this sort of 'bait & switch' (the other commenters from pricewatch used this term) tactic. I have to admit its the first time I've ever encountered a business practice like this and was a bit caught off guard by it.
Other commenters also mentioned there had been delays in shipping, I'm hoping that I receive the item in the # of days that I'm expecting and I will be following up with this feedback, either positively or negatively once it arrives.
[16 Sept] I just received the package in the mail, and although it was partially what I had ordered, in the course of the last 2 weeks I was informed that the mb I had originally ordered was discontinued (which makes NO sense, since if they had it in stock when I ordered it, what difference should it make if the manufacturer had discontinued it, since they had it in hand, unless they didn't??) and they were upgrading me to a more expensive mb (and not charging me the difference, another curiousity). But in order for me to find this out, I had to call THEM, a full week after the order was placed. I shudder to think how long it would have been if I had just let things go and not bothered to call. Even so, when I was told that the shipment was going out that day, I asked to be informed of the tracking number, which they proceeded not to do. I had to call back again 5 days later when nothing arrived, and was told the same story again, that it was packed and ready to go, that they would email me the tracking # and I would have the shipment in 2-3 days.

I was forced to call them again (3 phone calls, all on my phone bill) today and was ready to ask them for a cancelled order and a refund when I was informed that the shipment had gone out on Wednesday and should be arriving today. If they had bothered to email the tracking number I wouldn't have been as put out as I was, but they seemed rather nonplussed about the whole thing, and was sure to ask me for positive feedback after the package arrived. Well in my book, if you want something positive said about you, do something positive first, don't make me have to chase you all over the place to get you to do the job you signed up for, and I pre-paid you for. Yes the package arrived, but when I opened it, I was a bit crestfallen (though I have no idea why, I should have expected what I found) in that the mb and cpu I had ordered were NOT put together as they had been ordered, they were shipped seperately. I specifically ordered them to be put together and tested, so I didn't have to do it myself, else I would have just purchased the items seperately from a large retail vendor and gone from there.
So after all this, I can't really recommend them to future purchasers. I do get the impression though, if you're local to them, you might get a little better service, since you can go to the place of business and complain if need be, people doing business long distance don't have that option, so they as a company apparently have a little more leeway in how they treat you as a customer, though I really don't see why there should be a difference."

"Found vendor on Pricewatch. The Price advertised was less than on compu-terra's site, as well as the shipping. I had to go thru paypal to pay them, and because I selected the $.99 shipping, I had to fax them a document waiving their responsibilities because it was send uninsured. I bought a Memory Stick, so I wasn't concerned about any damage, and the part I recieved was in working order. I would not select their cheapest, ie. $.99 shipping for anything with moving parts. I was a little dubious of buying from this company because of their rating here, and their dificult to navigate website. I recieved my product on the 17th. 5 days after order. I would be cautious ordering online from them, order over the phone so you can talk to a real person. "
"This place is ridculous. Ive baught a computer from them in the past and had the same problems I recently had while trying to buy another motherboard for the computer I had baught a year ago. I placed the order about a week ago and was told it would be shipped in 3 days. I called after 6 days to find out that the order wasn't even processed even though I had been promptly billed the day of the order. Then after I called to get my money back, they told me it would take a whole day to refund my paypal account which is astonishing seeing that it only took me about 2 seconds to send them the payment with it."

"I wanted to upgrade an old computer with a 2GHz AMD, so I went to pricewatch and checked for sempron 2800+ (2gig clock speed) motherboard combos. Compu-terra had a low price and a 4 and half star rating. After placing order got an e-mail that they needed to confirm by phone. Finally made phone contact and listened to the hard sell about upgrades. Had a lot of problems understanding even what they were pushing because of the heavy Indian/Pakistanni accents and they wouldn't slow down. After several days of no change in the posted account status I called and they said it would be shipped that day. Next morning (6 Jul) status said shipped and received 8 Jul. MB, CPU and Fan worked fine. Ordered a stick of RAM from newegg on the same day and had it 3 days later. I probably saved only $5 by going to this unknown quantity. The reviews on this site had me really concerned and I'm glad I didn't need to return the item. To be fair, I got the parts and they worked. But I should not have to call the company twice on a simple, straight-forward order and it took too long to receive. In the future, I'll check reviews on this site first (although they seem a little pessimistic since most people would probably comment only if they have a gripe). Also, if any vendor takes the initiative to call about my order, I'll take the initiative to immediately cancel my order. This stupid tactic has "hassle" written all over it. Just fill the dang order!"
