"Being a mother of 4 and an avid photo taker, my laptop that I used for my downloading finally had... had it! So i went looking for a new one. On a strict budget and little time to waste , I found Compu America. Service was friendly , they found exactly what I needed in no time at all, and the turn around was great! They have made it possible for me to capture many more priceless memories. definitely going to use them for all future electronic needs from here on out! Plus they have it all new and refurbished. "I ordered an HP printer and my order was exactly as advertised (excellent!). Outfitting kids for college means I have to be a bit of a coupon clipper so Compu America really helped me out with their affordable prices. Also my daughter told me she had a little trouble with it and called customer service and they were accommodating even when she realized that her roommate had messed with the settings. She was so embarrassed, but she says they were very polite about the whole thing so I wanted to do them something nice in return."
"This store is probably the very worst buying experience a person can have, period. They blatantly lie and deceive. My experience was to order a computer online and they wanted wanted extra for credit card, and of course once you use don't use your card, you're without protection. They kept writing e back; 'oh the price wasn't as advertised, it's actually $.... and of course in their favour. The transaction took months, the price was inflated, I felt as though I'd been through absolute hell with these people and I can see a few positive reviews and feel that somehow Compu America had someone write these, as they are just the worst, period. Advice? Go somewhere else ..."
"I researched a Asus Geforce GTX 550TI Graphics card through pricewatch.com and was led to compu-america.com This was a classic bait and switch case. Originally the card was 91 dollars, after a few days they claim they cancelled my order and then increased the price of the item to the regular online price of 130 dollars. I never received that last email that said my order was cancelled. To this day my order still says "processing" on their website. And of course their online chat representative assured me that they "appreciate my input". Who trains these people?"
"Bought a refurbished MFC-7860DW from them and it got to me very promptly. It was in such good condition that it almost seemed new. It completely surpassed my expectations. The customer service reps really helped with all the questions I had about the printer before placing the order. The price was a great deal too. My office is so much more efficient thanks to this printer. I would totally recommend buying from Compu-America to anyone. Excellent online store!"
"I purchased an Epson GT-1500 scanner last month and so far everything went well. When I spoke to the sales person they told me everything about the condition of the scanner. It didn't come in its original box but my order was packed very well. I am not sure with the other reviews here but the sales person replied back to me right away making sure that I am aware where my order was."
"Exceptionally poor service. Ordered and charged on 12/13, no shipping of one unit until 12/20. [Claimed both shipped, and I'd get a tracking order the next day.]Only provided a single tracking number. When asked about the second tracking number, it turns out the second unit hadn't shipped and it only shipped on 12/24.[Sarcasm] So, a real winner here [/Sarcasm]Takes payment and promised multiple ship dates and missed them all. 10 days to ship an order, with no notification to the customer.This company sucks, and it appears they don't much care how much they screw you over."
"Wow, what a terrible experience. I searched google shopping for part U4545E (HP Care Pack). It showed compu america as having the lowest price of $762 plus $14.58 shipping (even though this is 100% electronic delivery, but whatever, still cheapest at $)They called me at least 4 times the next day telling me that that price is wrong and it really costs $100 dollars more and I should accept their new price because others charge over a thousand. Today, the day after they told me they don't have it at the advertised price, if you Google the same part number, they still show up LYING about the price they are selling it at.I read reviews that talk about the same experience before placing my order with them but never imagined that I would have the exact same experience too.What this merchant is doing is fraudulent. They advertise the lowest price, call you back after you place an order with them, and try to get you to pay a higher price thinking that you will just say OK to it, because you just want to get the item and don't want to deal with searching and re-ordering again from somewhere else.They are abusing the Google's shopping service."
"I ordered a UPS component (network card) from them which was supposed to come with a bunch of listed accessories/items. I only received the item bare in a box with none of the other items. 4-5 phone conversations later, they have continually failed to follow-up with promised information (calling me back to see if they had the accessories, which partners might have it, when they can get it to me -- and eventually they were supposed to e-mail me with RMA information that never showed up).It also took ~3 weeks for me to receive my item, and even though I was told by e-mail at the time of the order that a tracking number would be made available to me, I never received one. I called to ask about it and was told that "it shipped from another location so tracking information [is] unavailable"This crappy experience has reinforced my belief that you should stick with merchants who you have positive past experience with - in my case I wish I stayed with refurbups.com as I have continually had a great shopping and customer service experience with them."
"We ordered a phone from these people. The web price was $491. The day after the order was placed, they called saying that there was an error on their web page, and that the correct price was $549. As the price was still good, we accepted.We order some other phones from them. This time the web price was $149. The day after the order was placed, they called saying that the web page was in error, and that the price would be $199. This was too many "errors", too close together. In fact, this pattern suggests fraud.AVOID THIS COMPANY."
"I purchased couple of items from Compu america. I received my orders with a little bit delay but it was exactly what i ordered and in a very good condition. So far I'm happy with them. The guy I talked to on the phone was very polite and helpful to me. He told me they are improving the shipping department to process the orders completely on time. Hope that happens soon."

"BE FULLY WARNED! Do NOT buy from these people! I ordered with them since they advertised overseas shipping and an unbeatable price on the server part(s) I needed. Well, after many emails and long-distance phone calls with custserv, it took more than a full month after the initial order to actually confirm that overseas shipping was possible, and then they made me cancel and redo the order since they wanted to charge "extra" shipping for overseas, which turned out to be an eye-popping arm and a leg for just the shipping alone, with no apparent rhyme or reason to pricing. I of course, cancelled everything almost 2 months after my first order out of sheer frustration and distrust. On top of this, I used a new email address and I started getting spam mail after this ordeal. Sorry I couldn't find anything nice to say but this was my experience with Compu-America. Too bad you can't choose zero stars below."
"After reading all the "horror stories", I was a bit hesitant to purchase through them. I am glad i didnt judge them on what I read! I was pleased with how well they communicated with me through the entire purchase of my printer, and it continued all the way to the end. I got my printer at a great price, and I am glad that I gave them the chance instead of just brushing them off because of a few comments."
