"BEWARE!!! AWFUL COMPANY!! What a bunch of rude, hostile scam artists! I bought a camera from them that was dvertised at $179.00. When I called to check about the "free" offer that came with it, the guy told me I needed the special batteries that he would include for $39.95 with a rapid charger. I also asked for a camera bag which I was told would cost $14.95. Foolishly, I didn't aske for a total charge before hanging up. Imagine my shock when I received my camera and saw my credit card had been charged $284.95. I also had not received my camera bag. When I called to ask about the charge and the bag, "George" and "Tommy" yelled and talked over me and said I was charged the correct amt. I aksed them to send me my camera bag and they agreed to do this along with a $20 credit on my card. As of now, I have yet to see the bag or the credit. I have never dealt with people who are so rude and disrespectful. I have filed a complaint with my credit card company, as well as the BBB. PLEASE BEWARE! THESE PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST SCAM ARTISTS!!If I can save one person my pain, I will be happy for posting this."
"I agree with the rest of the reviews. I purchased a Nikon camera, the battery and charger are supposed to be included. WRONG. They charged me extra for those two items and told me they were selling/charged me for an 8 GB memory card but when the camera arrived, it was a 4 GB. If you try to return anything, it is an 15% restocking charge, I complained and he said read the fine print next time before you order something.I could have got it cheaper at Walmart or Target or anywhere. If one person reads this and does not order from them it will be worth writing this review."
"This is a follow up to my previous complaint BBB #8852118 against compudeals2u.com. After receiving the camera I ordered from compudeals2u.com, and after writing my initial complaint, I opened the package. The camera did not come in the retail box and I suspect it is refurbished. Inside the box was a Vivitar battery. The camera I purchased is a Nikon S8100. I called "customer service" and spoke with someone who claimed his name was Peter. I asked him why my Nikon camera came in a plain box with a Vivitar battery. He gave me a convoluted "answer" about how the cameras don't come with a battery or charger, but I ordered the U.S. model which comes with a battery. When I continued to ask why there is a Vivitar battery I was not given an answer, I was only asked "do you want to return the camera or what?". When I continued to ask about the product he told me that they buy the cameras separate and then package them themselves. When I continued to press for a reasonable answer to my question I was told "forget it, we don't want to do business with customers like you. Return the camera that's it!". I asked to speak with a manager and he told me "NO." Later he told me the manager was listening on the other line and was "laughing his *Word Rejected*off." He told me that it says that the camera doesn't come with a battery or charger in the item description on their website. I told him that this is not true. NOWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE DOES IT SAY THAT THE NIKON S8100 DOES NOT COME IN RETAIL PACKAGING OR THAT IT DOESN'T COME WITH A BATTERY, OR THAT IT COMES WITH A REPLACEMENT BATTERY FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER. I told him that was deceptive marketing and he told me that the customer "should know that it doesn't come with a battery." How is the customer supposed to assume that??? When purchasing a camera from any retail outlet they always come with a battery unless advertised otherwise, or unless the product is listed as "refurbished" and lists what is NOT included in the packaging. There are so many complaints from your dropdown list that apply to compudeals2u.com. It was almost impossible to choose one. Complaints about their bait & switch and deceptive practices are emerging all over the internet. It has been exposed that the "positive reviews" from their website are linked to another business. These guys need to be shut down before more people have to experience this scam."
"SCAM! I ordered a camera in late November for Christmas. A week later I got an email asking me to call and "confirm" my order. When I called, they tried to upsell me a charger (the camera takes AA batteries) and accessories. I declined and was told all was well. A week later after hearing nothing more, I checked the status and now they say the camera alone is on backorder, but they can still sell me the "holiday bundle" (charger, card, etc.) for $100 more and ship today. I cancelled my order."
"Bait and switch! Shady bunch...stay away. They'll advertise product for $20 cheaper than all online competitors, then you'll receive an email that says you need to call and "verify your online order". When you don't buy their accessories, batteries chargers etc, they'll conveniently not have the item in stock. Then they'll quickly and gladly cancel your order. I've seen it before and these crooks are continuing the tradition of bad online service."
"I purchased a Nikon Lumix L110 camera for $149.00(USD) because they had the best price (prices for other items seemed ok, but not great, so I figured it was a legitimate "sale"). I got an email shortly after asking me to call their customer service number about my order. So I figured I should call. Bad idea (or good idea, really). He said that I forgot to enter the 3 digit code from the back of my card. The sales rep was very rude. He told me the camera I ordered was the "import" model not USA model and all of the language was in Japanese. He said if I order it, it cannot be returned. He then gave me the total for my purchase which was about $20 higher than my invoice. I started to argue with him about it, we went back and forth for about a minute but being disabled with a head injury I was not comprehending what was being said. I said OK and hung up just so I could think about what was going on. In that time I received an email that my CC was charged $184.95 ($35.95 higher). I call back and the same argument ensued but the matter of handling and insurance popped up (this was a free shipping order). I was told I should "do better research before ordering".
After hanging up I called my CC company and the rep reversed the charges and put the company on a watch list. I then canceled the card and ordered a new one.
www.compudeals2u.com is a SCAM, plain and simple. This guy should get arrested for what he is trying to pull. Do what you can to report the "business" as fraudulent to the appropriate organizations. He needs to be shut down before he steals more money and information."
