Many orders have been placed and delivered and I have an idea of what to expect when I order. Years ago I would always expect extremely good quality. Since then, the quality of the frames has definitely tapered off. And I finally understand why! Coastal started marketing their own brands of glasses under different brands called "house brands". When you are going to do the first pair free promotion the only glasses frames you can get are their house brands. This includes brands like Joseph Marc, Hardy and others on the site. Mostly anything that doesn't come off as being a designer brand is a house brand on their site. The quality of these house brand products is a lot less than designer products. It's worth it to buy a designer brand frame if you buy from this site, just wait for a designer brand sale. Also, the first pair free promotion should really be called first frame free, because the included lenses are limited to those with mild need for eyeglasses and us blinder fold end up forking up more cash for the better lenses anyways. The lenses are great quality. They now come with all the coatings which is nice, because I used to have to order them seperate. They also do a great job with the sunglasses tint for regular lenses. I only wish you could get desinger sunglasses with RX lenses, and not have to order regular frames with tinted lenses. I also wish that they told you about their shipping practices. First off, most the lenses are made in Korea. Second, most of the items are shipped from the USA but not all of them. If they ship from the US you get them in about 3 business days. Which is awesome. But otherwise they may be shipping from BC. They do this when they don't have the item in stock in the US. This means over 2 weeks waiting for shipping, no tracking information, and they never tell you if your item is shipping from the BC so you just have to wait and wonder. By the way, I found this out by calling customer service. The site could be set up with better tracking and shipping information and with more search options. I have had good and bad experiences here, as you can see I am most of the time satisfied you just need to know the ins and outs of the company to get the best deal and product for your money. Saw an ad on Facebook for Coastal.com and decided to give them a try. Ordered a beautiful designer frame and typed in my prescription, hoping for at least a pair I could use in an emergency. Imagine my surprise when they arrived within 1 week of my order and the prescription works better than the pair I got from the eye doctor. The frames are PERFECT and the lenses are lightweight! This pair has now become my main pair and I'll use the others for spare. Paid less than half and that was with the best lenses offered from coastal.com!!!
