"Circuit City has had my money for TWO defective desktops for two months. I thought initially I had just received a dud, as the desktop was DOA. Even though it was visably damaged, with no damage to the box or shipping materials. I asked for an exchange. After a week for shipping it back, a week for them to "process" the return, another week for shipping the replacement, I finally received a second unit. It worked for about 2 hours before it died, and never came back on. I again got a RA, this time for a refund. The process is entirely TOO SLOW. If they ship a defective product, they need to speed up the process and shipping method on the return. Not go the cheapest slowest route. Here it is, almost two months after my original order and more than a month after the second unit, I STILL HAVE NO REFUND. After calling AGAIN, I'm told the refund was processed incorrectly and I should have my money in 24-48 hours. We'll see. If I don't, I'm filing complaints with every agency from the BBB to the FTC. Never once have they offered any consolation; no discounts, credits, NOTHING.
Shame on you Circuit City. This is not how you get repeat customers."

"I purchased a laptop one morning from Circuit City, and to my AMAZEMENT it arrived the VERY NEXT afternoon before 1 p.m.! I did not pay extra for shipping, I figured I would be waiting 5-7 days.
Unfortunately the hard drive was bad :( I SO dreaded having to deal with returning an internet purchase. WELL, I did not need to. I placed a call at 7:30 in the morning, immediately got a HUMANBEING that I could understand :) She made it so smooth, simple and quick I was shocked. Within five minutes she had gotten my return approved and started the process of sending me a new laptop. No questions asked! I received the new laptop THE VERY NEXT MORNING! I could not believe it. Before I called I also emailed their customer service (in case I did not get time to call). I received a response from email that day too. It was personal and informative and he had already checked my account and saw that I had returned it.
OVERALL I am VERY pleased and will definately use CC again! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!"

"After receiving the item ordered & discovering that it did not work, I called customer service to request a RA number & prepaid return label. I felt that since the item did not work I shouldn't have to pay to return it. The first rep I spoke to was very rude and unhelpful. After insisting on a prepaid return label, she said she would email it to me but never did. I called back again the next day, spoke with a gentleman who said he would send it right out, but sent general return instructions, no prepaid label. When I called back a third time I was lucky & got a lady who was polite, helpful & stayed on the line till I received what I needed. Overall my experience was not positive. "

"Placed an order for a laptop and paid via PayPal checkout. I received a phone call and emails stating that my order was pending and they needed to verify that I actually placed the order (how convenient???)

I called up and was greeted by a rude employee who told me that my ship-to address was not valid (was going to a STE which happens to be a UPS Store) and that there was no way for them to change the ship to address without cancelling the order... however he didn't cancel my order.

I called up another time to customer service and was once again greeted by another employee who was apparently pissed she had to work on a Sunday (boohoo... it's a job... in this economy you should be happy) and told me the same thing and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. Duh. If you won't ship to the address I specify I'm certainly not going to donate $679.99

I haven't gotten the refund back yet or any information that the order was cancelled (even though she insisted) and have re-placed the order.

I'm hoping my second run-in with this company is better than the first otherwise I'll be leaving another bad review."

"I order Canon 5D kit today, but after I checked out. Someone from this website called me and told me that they don't accept international credit card. However, the money has been taken out of my account. Then I called my bank and circuit to find out problem. It seems that it needs to take at least 2 weeks for me to get my money back. And I am even not sure of it until I get my money back. I need the camera as soon as possible, and this experience waste me a lot of time. Why they didn't mention that they don't accept international card before check out! And why they don't accept international card which I used on Amazon many times with no problem!"

"The player arrived on time and in great shape. I was completely happy with the player, and extremely pleased about the price! I found the exact same model at a local Best Buy for $131.00 - saved a bunch of money! The player works great, and I love the features!

I will use Circuit City again when I need a similar item!"

"I ordered a Magellan GPS (refurb) for my son's birthday. It looks brand new, couldn't tell that it was refurbished at all. Charged it up and it worked perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone....great deal for the price."
