"Terrible business practice. They said the items were priced wrong and REROUTED the already SHIPPED package back to themselves. That is about all."

"This Site is a total jerk.
Horrible Customer Survice, Horrible Service.

How is it possible that people who ordered After me would get their product while I sit and get a back-order message and have to cancel my order?

You guys totally suck and totally disappointed in the level of service this site is."

"Ordered some G.Skill ram on 9/30 checked the status of the order on 10/1 and noticed that it had not shipped. Called and found out that the ram was not in-stock even though their website still indicates that it is in stock... Asked the representative to cancel the order but apparently they're having issues with their system.. the rep offered to check with the accounting dept and call me back tommorow... The rep was nice and all but that still doesn't change the fact that my money is now in limbo and my system build is on hold until this is resolved. Maybe it seems like I'm whining but I find this situation to be unacceptable.

I've had issues with Newegg in the past but still decided to give chiefvalue a shot since they had the ram I wanted at an unbeatable price. Now I'm wondering if it would've been better just to pay extra and buy somewhere else. I sincerely believe that my system would be completed faster if I had brought my ram from the back of a van in downtown Los Angeles instead.

link to the ram which is still listed as being in stock:
http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_-productdetails.cv_-_item--CE00055835010060

Check the review by "whocares_idont" seems to have had the same issue I am. Sigh.. I wish I'd payed more attention to the reviews instead of just looking at the overall score. On the bright side the stuff I ordered from Club-IT on the same day just arrived via UPS, too bad computers need ram to run.

Update: Finally received a refund on 10/5 all in all my experience with chief value was crap. Stay far away."

"well this whole bad experance begain back on the dec. 19 when I ordered a video card, powersupply, and a new motherboard for my grandson. Well the power supply, and motherboard was shipped out of ca. and video card out of tn. got the mb and ps in and good condition. The video card was crush beyond repair. So got ahold of ups, they picked it up, got ahold of chief and had to pay for another card to get it in on time. Well got second card in, it was broken by warehouse. So got ahold of chief again. By then the first card had arrived, so i didnt have to pay for anotherone. So in the process I told the lady since I had paid for another card already to go ahead and send it when the old one got back.(And like a dummy order a new case at that time for grandson too) So receive a card on the 4th, it was in good condition, but no manual,or power doggal cord for card. Talk to them again and they would check on it. OK received 2 video card today, it was fine but no manual or power doggal for card. Received case which looked like it had been dropped, and it was bent beyond repair. Called ups, they will pick up monday, so I went back online and order a different case. Talk to Chief support, and was told to call evga about manual and power doggal cable. Called evga support and was tolded they would ship manuals and cords monday of next week should receive on thur. or friday. I was told new case would be shipped fedx this time, it was shipped ups again. Last case was shipped two day, this time case is shipped three day. Once this nitemare is overwith i will never purchase from them again. Here it is the 6 of jan. and still dont have enough parts to put grandsons comput together. All said and done am very dissatisfied with the way things have been handled the past couple of weeks.

UPDATE:
Well here is to update, was on with chiefvalue today, and after a few. minutes we have been able to work everthing out. Maribel is the support personel that has worked with me trying to get this all strightened out. One thing I can say Chief doesnt pay this woman enough to handle all she has to deal with. She got this problem handled, with a more straight forward manner then anyone in support of any company I have had dealings with. Wrong item's are being returned, new item's being shipped at there cost not mine. Not to many companys will do that. And for my problems she also gave me a credit to use on future order. I can say ChiefValue stepped up to the plate and is handleing my problems. So I do have to rate them up there as one of the best around.AAA+++
So in ending, I want to think Maribel for her hard work to help with my problem. Hope the next time we speak is just to tell her everthing was delivered with no problems, and everthing worked great. Keep up the good work."

"I have had a poor experience with your company recently. It concerned buying software and returning it. We did purchase some software, but when we received our package, we had realized it wasn't the right item. ChiefValue would not accept our unopened package because they claimed it was software. We merely wanted the version of this software with the CD enclosed, not a license key. We would have happily exchanged it for the correct product. However, Chiefvalue did not let us. The representatives were very unsympathetic to our situation and it left us with a bad impression, especially since our previous dealings with Chiefvalue had been positive. I hope someone can help resolve this situation.

"Terrible company with terrible management and terrible customer service, and too bad it's a Newegg company. Canceld my paid order, claiming it was on back order. Then it claimed that my credit card was invalid. Both of the claims are false and absurd.

Custormer service refused to offer rain check for the order I have already paid, refused to let me talk to the manager, refused to comment on restocking the item, although it was a EVGA GTX460 a popular graphic card, and acted out a highly distainful episode with her abhorent, accented, bureacratic tone.

The back of the story was that the discount for a combo deal was mistyped, so the -$5.99 became -$59.9, and Chiefvalue tried to hide from its mistake. If it were in other countries, say in Taiwan, the seller is obliged to deliver the item by law. But this Newegg company simply turned thug-like and resorted to the cheapest way to shun from its mistake.

When a company is overly grown and fat, it loses its conscience. Newegg is NOT new anymore. Its trifling baby companies like Chiefvalue demonstrate this. Boycutting them from now on."

"Really shady company, said they have an item in stock, charged my credit card and then sent an email stating that my item was backordered and I have call them and cancel it. The customer support was not helpful at all and told me that they can’t do anything about it and just have to cancel."

"I ordered a PC DVD burner from ChiefValue. I realized it was an OEM burner which means no packaging, but I felt it was not new because there were Scotch tape marks on it as well as stickers which were scratched off. The plastic bag was also dirty and wrinkled. I have bought hundreds of PC-related accessories online before, so I feel I'm pretty good at distinguishing a return and a new item. I was upset about it enough that I e-mailed ChiefValue the same day I received my item. I would have returned it out of spite, but there's a restocking fee for returns. I only received an automated e-reply that CV received my e-mail.
I probably won't buy from ChiefValue again especially since you can get the exact deals from Newegg (which owns CV). I am really fond of Newegg. I trust them and I love their service. The only reason I made this purchase from CV was because they offered free shipping on this particular item and Newegg did not. Next time, I'll wait or just pay the extra few bucks for the premium service and prompt delivery I always get from Newegg."

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"Update: 13 December 2005; Was contacted by Chief Value and they gave me a $10.00 credit for the confusion, and was very kind and explained that they will correct the site error. Now very satisfied, thank you. Original Post:
Recommend seller, but be careful of product description. 2 Dec 05 ordered a 1GB Patriot memory secure digital card, price is good, delivery time was good, packaging was good, but product description was a bit off. All other web sites showed this SD card as 60X read time and chief value said it was 3MB read time, assuming 3MB means 60X read speed I ordered it and was happy with price, but got item and package says “Up to 40X” and chief value did not mention 40X read time anyplace in the product description on their site."
