I was suckered in by the fact that ChiefValue is a NewEgg Company. I've ordered from NewEgg for 10+ years and have only had a couple unresolved problems in all that time. However, ChiefValue is NOT NewEgg!  
 
I tried to place an order last week, but was unable to do so because of this error: "Sorry, the credit card your provide is not valid. Please try again using the correct credit cart information.' No, I did not make typos - that is the EXACT error I received. After calling customer service, I was told I'd be contacted back within an hour; this didn't happen until the next day after I'd left on vacation. The voice mail said that their credit card processing portal was down and now fixed.  
 
I tried again to order what I need yesterday and got the same error - another call to customer service and another promise to call me back within an hour. Just before leaving for the night 5 hours later, they called me back. We discovered that the name on a credit card cannot have a hypen in it, even though this is the way the name on the card is written. OK, so I can now get past the error and order right? Yeah, that's what I thought too.  
 
It now tells me that there's not enough inventory, even though the customer service rep checked and said that there's plenty. She suggested that it's my browser (Firefox), computer (Slackware Linux), or network. So, I changed to another computer, this one running XP and used Internet Exploder on a completely separate internet line. Same thing, but she just kept saying that it's my system.  
 
I asked if I could order from NewEgg and have the deal matched to ChiefValue, since they're both the same company. She said that even though CV is owned by NewEgg, everything is separate. (Regardless of the fact that she introduced herself as "---- from NewE... ChiefValue" when she called.)  
 
I haven't been able to order from ChiefValue, even though I'd very much like to. I've given up on ordering from them, even though they're significantly less expensive than everybody else for the same item. My opinion of NewEgg has also gone down because of this experience.

I posted my original review regarding an order that should have shipped the next day, but according to Chief Value's website, had not even been packaged yet -- 4-days later -- even though my Visa card had been charged right away. To make matters worse, their Live Chat system was not responding to my numerous attempts to contact Customer Service...  
 
Turned out that my order did indeed ship on time and the package arrived the day I originally expected it to. Chief Value's order progress system simply had a temporary problem preventing it from posting current order status.  
 
CV's Customer Service promptly contacted me after seeing my original review here and expressed a willingness to resolve any remaining issues. Among other things, they acknowledged there had been a problem with their website order tracking system and they were making efforts to make it more reliable. Similarly, they were also working with the company which provides their Live Chat support system and hope to soon have that working reliably again.  
 
So, in light of these developments I can say this: Chief Value has demonstrated to me a genuine desire to maintain high standards of service to their customers and to quickly resolve any disputes or misunderstandings that may occasionally arise. They have certainly resolved my dispute, so I am willing to continue buying PC hardware from them for my business.  
 
ANOTHER UPDATE  
 
I placed an order on 10-16-09 (Friday late afternoon) and their order status system seems to be working fine now. On Sunday I recieved 2 emails: one showing my order shipped out already (on Sunday!), including the tracking number; the second was the sales invoice. Keep up the good work Chief Value! :-)

I just wanted to take the time to compliment and thank you for the GREAT customer service. I dealt with Espy and she made everything crystal clear, and took care of putting me in the right direction. In times where customer service is lacking, I commend Chiefvalue for staffing great people.

Receved DOA item and sent back the next day using the RMA (replace item) process. At first I was not pleased with the RMA turnaround time processing (stock issue) and communication with my RMA so I contacted them and complained about the service. The staff did however proivde excellent customer service after escalating my concerns and Chiefvalue showed good faith - and will keep this repeat customer. Will purchase from Chiefvalue again.

Great first experience with Chiefvalue.com. Item was shipped in a timely matter. Professionally packed. Will buy from again.

Monitor price dropped after I bought, contacted chiefvalue and they basically said oh well. I cannot understand how not refunding original sale price to the new sale price helps people with limited resources like chiefvalue claims.

I gave them the opportunity to do right by me and they declined so I decided that I, according to their logic, would be helping them out by changing my review from positive to negative.  
 
They do ship fast but their customer service sucks. I will only order from chiefvalue if their price is lower than everyone one else.  
 
Chiefvalue is "a newegg company" but newegg has a 9.5 plus rating and chiefvalue's 6 month rating currently is at 8.0. What gives with the poor service from chiefvalue's management.

I purchased a Silicon Dust HDTV tuner. It was in stock as stated, shipped and delivered promptly and was by far the cheapest price anywhere. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants quality at below reasonable prices.

I received a refurbished Asus mother board.  
and found out that it contained ONLY board.  
No accessory or manual, cable, connectors.  
So if you are novice, please be aware!

Shipment took place the same day, and the item was received as promised. The item worked perfectly out of the box. This item is a winner and the price was perfect.

After numerous orders over a period of several years I can't think of a single negative comment to make about Chief Value. They have a huge selection, rock bottom prices, lightning fast shipping and perfect customer service.
