"I have won eBay auction number 3870219247 from Cameta (cametaauctions) for a "Demo" Nikon D2H, while checking thru the auction description, I realize that they do not ship to Indonesia; Malaysia or Singapore. Since I have done over 600+ transactions in eBay with only positive feedbacks, so I wrote to them to apologies for not picking up this imposed "constraint" earlier and requested them to give an exception to ship to Singapore where I live. Two days later, I receive an email reply that they will not give exceptions to this policy. Immediately, on the same day I responded to Cametaauctions to ship the camera to my Houston's office and also provided my credit card details for the payment. Again, two days later, I receive an email that they can only ship the camera that is being paid for with a credit card to the billing address and advice me that if I would like my camera shipped to an alternative address, they can only accept payment via 1) Money Order, 2) Certified Bank Check or 3) Someone in U.S. to pay on my behalf. On the same day after I have received the email, I contacted them via long distance call, but was told that the person in charge has left for the day. I have therefore sent another email reply that I will purchase a Money Order in U.S. Dollar to be drawn on a U.S. Bank for the payment. On the same evening my time (where NY is 09:30 hour) I made another long distance call to Cameta and as soon when I explain that I will send a Money Order as per their request, the Customer Service accuse that the Money Order from Singapore will be fake, and insist that the auction/order is cancelled. When I request to speak to her supervisor, I was put on hold for over 10 minutes and subsequently a lady claim to be the manager pick up the call, same answer given by the Customer Service, not offering any solution just claiming that any payment from Singapore will be fake despite I have asked her to check on my feedbacks standing. When I ask to speak to her supervisor, I was told that she will be the highest lever I can approach in Camerta, and her final decision is that my order is cancelled!

In reviewing Cametaauctions auction details, they have only stated that they do not ship to Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore. As in my case, I have provided them a U.S. address for shipment, I certainly cannot appreciate their allegation that all Money Orders from Singapore will be fake, since I have no problem waiting for them to clear the Money Order with their bank before the shipment! I have bought over 100 cameras in U.S. alone (new, used, direct or auction) over the last few years, certainly have never came across a seller like Cameta!"

"Horrible support !!! I wrote 4 e-mails to liz@cameta.com.
There are 8 days and I still haven't receieved any answer from them.

They taxed my credit card for checking it and then they are telling me that they cannot ship to Romania. I gaved them an USA address and they couldn't ship also.

They made me a bad impression."

"My experience with Cameta Camera was an absolute pleasure. They made the ordering extremely easy and were more than willing to accommodate my needs. My camera arrived within 2 days of my placing the order.

But I had some problems with the camera (Nikon D60 refurb) I received. It showed up hot pixels at low ISOs and high shutter speeds, which was uncharacteristic and it had 1600 shutter actuations. I was a little bothered by that and sent my camera back for a replacement. They were fantastic about it and sent me a replacement without any hassles.

The replacement I got had absolutely no problems. It had no hot pixels at low ISO and had only 5 shutter actuations. So, I am very happy.

My only concern is with the first camera I got. I am someone who does thorough research into the product before I invest my money. So, I could easily spot the problems with the first camera. Why would a camera, which is advertised as a "straight from Nikon" factory refurb have 1600 shutter actuations? Also, the packaging looked distinctly older compared to the replacement I received.

I only got the body replaced and not the 2 lenses I got with the body. So, I am wondering if I should have got that replaced too.

Nevertheless, I would still strongly recommend them. I guess I just got unlucky with the first one. But, do your research and know exactly what you are buying and what you have received. "

"I purchased a canon 60D bundle. Products arrived on time and in great condition. I purchased a couple of other items that I did not intend to purchase by the salesman upselling me. The upsale was misleading. I purchased a Canon printer Pro9000MarkII. You receive a rebate back by purchasing both together. Cameta failed to provide the form necessary for a rebate. After many emails with Customer service, they finally provided one. Also, I bought a pack of canon paper, which I thought was photo paper, the paper was for printing documents not photos. I am fighting this one as I write this. I also purchased Photoshop Elements software, but when I received it, it looked like a pirate copy. They also did not disclose the software as a separate purchase on the receipt, they listed it as included in the package, because the software says it is not to be sold separately. I called Adobe and they were aware of Cameta doing this, and they advised it was a legite copy. The upsale items were misleading and misrepresented. If you want a good reputation then deal fairly, and that means don't look like a crook.

I will definitely be complaining to my credit card company for refunds on certain misrepresented items, because the customer service people always say no in the beginning.

The prices are good, but the service and upsells are a rip off."

“We are sorry to hear you are not happy with the experience shared with our company. Our sales department does recommend items such as extended warranties, filters, memory cards, etc. to our buyers, but it as the buyers discretion whether they want to purchase these items; we do not simply just add items to your order. In addition rebate forms are typically linked through the Rebate Center link provided in the shipping confirmation email; we are sorry if for any reason this was overlooked. Rebate forms are also available for download directly from the manufacturer’s site. The Adobe software we sell is legitimate which you have since confirmed with the manufacturer directly. As far as the paper is concerned we have confirmed the Customer Service Department refunded you for the purchase price of the paper in question due to the confusion. All items are listed on the order confirmation email we send to you 2 business days prior to the order shipping.”

"Ebay sellers as Cametaauctions.

Ordered a set Nikon 10X42 binoculars (factory refurbs). Arrived in 3 days UPS. Binoculars wouldn't focus. Contacted customer support.
Surprise! A real person answered. A nice person at that. Explained situation. She requested that in order to execute an exchange, I would have to charge another item while the first was being returned.
Since I have protection through my bank, I didn't see this as a problem.
When the replacement binoculars arrived, they were the wrong ones. Called Customer support explained that I needed them for a hunting trip I was leaving for in 4 days.
I was asked to charge a third item while the other two were being returned. So... I did with a little nervousness. I'm into this over $600 now.
Customer support shipped third item next day air at no extra charge to me.
Third pair was the right ones. (New, no more refurbs)
Within 6 days both of the previous pair of binoculars had been credited to my account.

Their staff was friendly, and tried to set things right, at their cost.
They have among the best prices I've found and their service was stellar.
I definitely plan on doing business with them again.

"Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size product. This was due to lack of clarity on the Cameta website. It states the larger number is the lens size. I assumed this was the size of the lens on my camera which is 62mm. I want to fit a wide angle convertor with a 58mm thread size. Therefore I ordered a 62mm/58mm ring. The "wrong" size arrived today and is useless. This is the reverse of what I need. I cannot fault the delivery time but I feel "misled" by the website product description. $25 and 10 days up the Swanny!"

“Thank you for your recent purchase. We are certainly very sorry for any confusion relating to the item. The item was sold and shipped exactly as described on the website listing. In reviewing the listing details it is stated “The Bower 62-58mm Step-Down Adapter Ring easily screws onto the front of any 62mm Lens, and allows you to convert to the 58mm threads of accessory items (such as filters, hoods, flashes and lens converters).” We do believe this information describes accurately what the product in question does. We are sorry for any confusion. If you would like to return the item in question you may do so for a refund of the purchase price. Please advise if you do wish to do so and we will send the return details.”

"Bid on Sigma lens on eBay, but after winning found I had bid on a lens with the wrong mount. I sent an email and waited to call Monday am. Before I called, they already had straightened everything out. Then the 1st pics I took looked fuzzy, & I sent a message about that-they immediately sent a return authorization, but it turned out that the novice user (me) had merely let foreground clutter interfere with the autofocus. They were absolutely terrific about the whole mess with what turned out to be a very fuzzy user (me). They're now on my list of top people to buy from. Oh, and the lens has the full USA 4-year warranty, which is definitely not the case with many other sellers."

“The item was sold and shipped as described by the manufacturer. All of these units are received direct from the manufacturer where they are tested and cleaned before repackaging. We apologize if this unit did fall through their quality control checks. As offered on 1/18/12 when you contacted us we have every intention of taking the item back for a full refund. We certainly do not want our customers to keep an item that they are not happy with. Once received back a full refund will be issued to the original funding source for the order.”

"What a pleasant surprise. Like many of you I knew what I wanted yet was amazed by all the hype and across-the-board prices. So I made my way to Amazon and saw the best prices for my needs (Nikon D80, D200, Batt holders, and other items) were at Cameta. I am leary of Ebay anymore so I did some more research, some of it here. I called them and spoke with Enzo. Quite Nikon-savvy and very helpful. I chose on the spot to order from him. He took the order making suggestions along the way. No hype, no pressure. Had everything in stock. As it was a thursday he said the order would go out monday. Friday I got an email from the billing dept that my CC had been denied. I called and spoke again with a real professional. Went to the bank, got a one time release on the daily cap and the lady ran it for me right while I was standing in the bank. Success. She was as pleased as I was. Congratulated me on my purchase and wished me happiness with my new stuff. Can you imagine? Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say is that in this time of govermental ripoff and fluid truths, it is refreshing to do business with a group of professionals that does what it says it is going to do. Owen

Addendum-Monday I got the invoice email. One piece was backordered. Called tuesday and was told the item had come in and was shipped that day free. All but the one piece arrived in two days. The last item will be here today (three days) Nicely done!"
