"I ordered a camera (Canon 60D $805)as a Christmas present for my wife. I ordered online and expected it to be a silent purchase that my wife didn't know about. Not the case!!! They require a phone after the online order to "confirm the order"?!! So they called my home, talked to my wife and messed up the Christmas surprise!!! Come to find out the only reason they called was to try to sell me more stuff. Very unprofessional!!!!! I ordered online for a convenient easy sale. Now I had to call them back and wait 25 minutes on hold to talk to their rude custumer service agent who only goal was to sell me a $150 battery!!!! If it wasn't so close to the big day I would have told their rude agent to shove the camera where the sun don't shine. My advise would be to spend the extra $50 bucks and buy the camera anywhere else but there!"
"I bought a Canon EOS 5D MKII (a $2400 digital SLR) from Michael. He was pushy (his up-selling eventually turned into an argument with me saying "no, please just send me the camera body only"). It was the most unpleasant retail experience I had ever had, but the price was right, so I thought, if it arrives on time and everything is cool, then great. Particularly, I wanted to make sure that the Camera was a USA product with a USA warranty, which I was crystal clear about on the phone with Michael, and that I paid an extra $175 to get.
What arrived was a camera in a box that was originally a camera kit with a lens. No warranty card. I confirmed with canon right when it arrived because I was suspicious, what they told me was "if there's no warranty card in the box, it's not a canon usa product. There is one warranty card printed per camera with the serial number on it." The CSR at Canon went on to explain how the state of New York sued to put a bunch of shady internet camera shops out of business a few years back, most of whom came back under different business names. The best way to make sure you're dealing with a legitimate business is to make sure there is a storefront. I can't find a store address on Camera Kings website.
Brian (customer service) explained it away but nothing changes the fact that I do not have a USA warranty card, which according to the CSR at Canon has to be sent in with the camera for warranty service. Brian offered to accept the camera back since they "are a wholesaler and don't have warranty cards for any of their cameras," and couldn't send me what I understood I was purchasing. I decided to write off the $175 and move on, since I can still get repair service if it breaks (untrue with Nikon, who like some other manufacturers won't service non USA products in the U.S., period.)
It had been about 6 years since I'd been extorted by a NY camera shop. Perhaps it'll be 10 more before I forget again and not go to B&H..."
"DO NOT BUY IN CAMERA KINGS, THEY ARE TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. On January 20th,I have ordered a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Digital SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLR Cameras for aprox. $345 On January 21, they cancelled my order without any petition from me, and a couple of day later, same lens appeard in their website with a price of $395. They have just decide not to delivered a purchase that I payed with Amex. They will not honored payed purchases, if they find out that they can make a better bussines. Edmundo Tonconogy"

"I have very mixed feelings from dealing with this merchant. I ordered a Sony DSC-HX1 and their site had a price of $409 with free shipping and a free gift. I gave my credit card info and expected to get an order confirmed, not a call us to confirm your order. We played phone tag and I spoke to Eric who worked hard to upgrade my purchase. He said the original equipment battery was no good and sold me their best for $39. Other than the delay for having to confirm the order, it was shipped quickly and was well packed. My invoice price had gone to $498 - I called Eric back and he said it was extended insurance. When the camera arrived there wasn't anything to show the extended warranty and the battery I was talked into isn't even for the camera and couldn't possibly fit into it. It sure wasn't like I had juxtaposed numbers as he sold me on it. I called support and they gave me a return number and will send my correct battery after they receive the wrong one, which I am stuck with the shipping bill and have to do without until they resolve this. I am told I will be sent the extended warranty with the correct battery. I will have to wait and see.
Good merchandise - pushy salesmanship and unexpected double move to complete the order - poor invoice - free gift items are cheaply made (they were free after all) - being sent the wrong part that is fully on them and being stuck with handling and postage costs. You have to make your own call. For what I paid I could have gotten the camera from Sony direct or Best Buy and not have had the hassle. "
"Buyer Beware! Their website claimed a Canon 5D MK II was a US Model. They lie! I called and it is in fact GRAY MARKET. In fairness, my money was refunded quickly. Stick with mainstream retailers.....if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is."
"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! You need to do your research before shopping with them. They do not make it explicit when they are selling gray market cameras. No where on the product description is it listed. The only way you find out is by matching up the "1 Year Warranty" listed on a tab under the product description with a paragraph in the "About Us" section. Furthermore, I received HORRIBLE customer service by Frank and others. They seemed unable to answer my gray market questions, just wanted to push a fast sale on me, started debating with me about what I found on the Best Buy site (making claims I wouldn't find the camera anywhere- it was out of stock, which was a lie), and when I canceled my order, didn't seem to care about my concern about when I would be refunded. As a well educated individual, I say without a doubt that they are total scammers. Now I need to wait 2-3 days for the amount to post back to my account to buy from a legitimate dealer."
"It said the order would ship on 1-2 business days and it’s now been 7 days and they haven’t even charge my credit card. Looking at the other reviews I’m hoping they lost the information now and won’t send it. I’ve also had horrible customer service with dropped calls and telling me the order is on its way. They also sold me a SD card over the phone that is $5 less on the website. Definitely pay the extra $5-10 somewhere else. "
"I just bought a Canon DSLR + several lenses from them. Terrible customer service!
1. SUPER pushy, rude people, ALWAYS in a hurry. I wasn't even allowed to finish my (short) sentences, I was always interrupted, assumptions were made about the order, lens type etc (let me talk, I know what I want!)
2. ZERO response to email. No response for over 4 days.
3. Phone operators will happily transfer you without courtesy (me: "Hi! I'm calling regarding my order #1234 for a DSLR and I was ..{BEEP -> Transferred!!}
4. After placing an order online, they wouldn't ship my order!! They wanted me to call them at extension 278. WTH? I've been able to buy much more expensive stuff online where the order initiation, completion and fulfilment is quick and snappy (and secure too).
5. I tried extension 278 three times but reached a voicemail all three times. Useless.
6. I guess my stuff might actually ship this time - we'll see how it shapes out.
I have no idea why something this simple needs to be this complicated and more importantly, inconvenient! These guys need an operations expert ... doesn't seem professionally managed."

"My experience with Camera Kings is the same as others who recently reviewed them. Website says orders usually ship in 1-2 business days and it’s now been 9 days and they haven’t yet charged my credit card. I called today and received the same response I received yesterday when I contacted their customer service number 'your order will be shipped today or tomorrow'. Not worth the aggravation, pay the few extra bucks and purchase from a reputable online retailer. Hope I receive my camera before Christmas or my daughter will be very disappointed.
Update:
I finally received my daughter camera on 12/11 but didn't received the promised free accessory kit (case, tripod, lens cleaning kit, etc.)at time the camera was delivered. I'm hesitate to call contacted Camera Kings because I don't want to deal with a high pressure sales rep again trying to sell my over priced accessories such as batteries and SD cards. Brian the customer rep was good in that contacted me within in a few hours of me posting my review in order to help with getting my camera shipped. Thank you Brian! I think the sad truth is that Brian has been assigned the role of damage control agent and does his job well but as a person that has worked in the customer relations business for over 10 years, damage control rarely equates to future sales! "Buyer beware!!!! Added 4% for insurance? Tried to upsell me batteries and SD cards at twice the market value. i cancelled the order and went back to B&H better price and service."
