"Originally I had ordered a Garmin 755t GPS fron 86th Street Photo for $285+S&H I had received a call from one of thier employees trying to get me to order a lot overpriced items, but I stuck to my gons and said that I only wanted the GPS. 2 days later, I then received an e mail stating it was back ordered for 3-4 weeks and If I wanted to cancel, I could. Checking the ads, I saw that Camera Giant, the exact ad, only different phone number was selling the same item for $259+S&H,$26 less. I cancelled the 86th Street order and receiced a cancellation conformation. I ordered the GPS from Camera Giant over the internet. Today, I received a 2 emails, 1 a conformation of my order and 1 asking me to call "Chris" I read the reviews on this site AFTER I place the order, so I knew what Chris was going to try to do. I refused all offers that he tried to sell me and I must admit he was quite pleasant about it. It ended with him saying that I will receive the GPS in 2-3 weeks. To be continued........"
"Ordered a Zumo 550 GPS system because they had a good price posted. Got an e-mail stating I needed to call to confirm and the salesman stated the system would not work unless I purchased some overpriced accessories. He was very pushy on an extended warrenty which I did not want. I did agree on some of the accessories because I wanted the thing to work. After about an hour, I decided to call their customer service and wanted to cancel the order. He stated he would then charge me 50$ for a cancelation fee! I felt I now was stuck so I agreed on the sale. He did throw in a hard case which I felt was fair until I got the merchandise yesterday. For a 5 lb box shipped from NY to WI, these guys charged me $60!!. Avoid this company at all costs."

"I ordered a Body only for a camera they were advertising really cheap with a 2 days delivery. The next day I receive an email saying I should call them. I did and ended up on a guy asking me if I wanted a different battery pack for the body.. I said I just wanted the standard one and he told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks to be shipped.. (nice for the $35 2 day shipping fee). then he kept on asking me if I wanted to wait or cancel the order and became extremly rude at that point. I was afraid there would be fees for cancelled but he kept asking me if I wanted to Cancel! I say "canc...", he cut me off and said. it's done. Cancelled. Bye and hang up.
I think it's a scam, they attract customers with very low pricing on some items and will try to sell you extra stuff to compensate but if you don't they just cancel you out..

They wanted me to call them. After being placed on hold for ten minutes I was told that the problem was with my address. He read it back to me exactly as I had entered it online. I told him that was correct, and then asked how long it was going to take to get my unit, since I intended to travel with it soon. That’s when the upsale began. “You’re gonna need a memory card with this unit,” he said, “This unit won’t work without one.” I told him that I didn’t want it. “Just tell me when you’re gonna ship please.” He says, “I’ll tell you what. I’ll throw in the memory card and I’ll expedite the unit two-day shipping.” I asked if this was at an additional charge and he said, “The memory card is $99.99. The shipping will be free.” I immediately cancelled the order. This is an upsale scam. "
"Do yourself a big favor. Avoid Camera Giants at all costs.
They seemed very happy to cancel my order for a G10 camera, after I made the required call to them to "confirm" the order I had already placed. When talking to them, I declined their repeated attempts to get me to go with a $800 "deal" for extra lenses, 1gig card and a "2 hour battery." I simply wanted what I had ordered, especially considering their $800 deal (dropped to $699 after "talking with a supervisor") is available online for MUCH less.
Anyhow, I tried to simply follow through with my simple order, and was then told it would take more than 3 weeks for shipment. If I ordered the extra gear, that I did not want, the order would be shipped immediately.
Camera Giants hung up on me after I again stated (in a pleasant manner) that I simply wanted my initial order, and to cancel it due to their shipping time of infinity.
Now, I've got to worry about my debit card info that they have from my order.
I'm very, very dissatisfied with Camera Giant's sales and advertising, in a big way. Bait and Switch, and other deceptive tactics come to mind.

"I usually don't take the time to write a review, but I felt I was really being taken for a ride by Camera Giants. Similar to other comments, I had to call to veriy my credit card information and then a sales person tried to sell me accesseries at a rediculas price. I told them I just wanted my camera. I waited for 2 weeks and it never showed up. I looked up my order status on-line and saw it was backordered. I called Camera Giants, waited on hold for 10 minutes,was passed around to several people and then routed to an answering machine. I left a message requesting the status of my order, but never recieved a return call. Camera Giants is nothing but a scam."
