"I usually don't take the time to write a review, but I felt I was really being taken for a ride by Camera Giants. Similar to other comments, I had to call to veriy my credit card information and then a sales person tried to sell me accesseries at a rediculas price. I told them I just wanted my camera. I waited for 2 weeks and it never showed up. I looked up my order status on-line and saw it was backordered. I called Camera Giants, waited on hold for 10 minutes, was passed around to several people and then routed to an answering machine. I left a message requesting the status of my order, but never recieved a return call. Camera Giants is nothing but a scam."

"Do yourself a big favor. Avoid Camera Giants at all costs.

They seemed very happy to cancel my order for a G10 camera, after I made the required call to them to "confirm" the order I had already placed. When talking to them, I declined their repeated attempts to get me to go with a $800 "deal" for extra lenses, 1gig card and a "2 hour battery." I simply wanted what I had ordered, especially considering their $800 deal (dropped to $699 after "talking with a supervisor") is available online for MUCH less.

Anyhow, I tried to simply follow through with my simple order, and was then told it would take more than 3 weeks for shipment. If I ordered the extra gear, that I did not want, the order would be shipped immediately.

Camera Giants hung up on me after I again stated (in a pleasant manner) that I simply wanted my initial order, and to cancel it due to their shipping time of infinity.

Now, I've got to worry about my debit card info that they have from my order.

I'm very, very dissatisfied with Camera Giant's sales and advertising, in a big way. Bait and Switch, and other deceptive tactics come to mind.

As always, Buyer Beware.

Dave

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!
I had a very simular experience. VERY Rude customer service who kept hanging up on me.
On a thursday night I ordered a camera body and a lens from them, they did not get back to me until Monday morning, in which they wanted me to call them back to verify my order. They tried to get me to buy a battery and a charger because the order did not come with it for $150 (even though the camera kit said it included them). I said I didn't want it and he hung up on me very quickly. I called back to make sure he was going to verify my order, again very rude. The next morning my order was backordered, then cancelled. I called to ask why, then asked why they said it was available when it wasn't...so on. Now I'm worried because they have my credit card info.
SO PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!"

"i ordered a g10 from this company. They stated that it was in stock. They then called to verify the order. About 5 days later they stated it was not in stock. It seems from the phone call they really only wanted to see camera with accessories. Not a good experience."

"I cancelled my order due to the extraordinarily poor phone service when I called to "verify" my order. The representative lied to me to try to get me to order a "battery pack" that the camera does not require. He did not let me decline the battery pack even though I assured him the camera does not require it, and he got off the phone with me instantly as soon as I said that I would have to cancel my order. This company can not be trusted and no one should order merchandize from them. You'll be sorry if you do business with Camera Giants."

" was directed to this site through rightbuydigital.com when I was looking for a Nikon S60 digital camera. This site came up as the lowest price, so I ordered the camera and received an email the next day stating that I had to call the 1-800 number to verify my order. When I called, I sat on hold for about 20 mins, and when the phone was finally answered, I began to state the reason for my call to the representative, and he just placed me on hold and transferred me mid-sentence. The guy I eventually got told me that the camera came with no battery and that had to buy one of their 89.00 dollar batteries for the camera to work. I asked them to cancel the order and I returned to the site only to find that it stated in writing that the camera did come with a battery and charger. I called back to reinstated my order because I was misinformed by the previous representative. The guy that I had previously spoke to said that he was mistaken about the battery after I informed him that I researched the site and saw that a battery was provided. He then decided to tell me that the camera did come with a battery, but it was only an 8 min. battery! Who the hell provides an 8 min. battery as a standard battery for their electronics? I knew he was lying, so I asked him t reinstate my order and I would provide my own battery. He told me they would reinstate the order and just set the phone down and left me there. After about 10 mins. of listening to the representative talk to his coworkers while ignoring me on the other end, I hung up and called back. I immediately asked for a supervisor when the next rep answered, and he refused to give one to me. He told me that I deserved to be hung up on because I was yelling. He then told me that he was a supervisor and that he would not do anything for me. I asked to speak to another representative, and he refused to comply. He threatened that if I continued to call back he would make sure that he would be the only one to receive my calls so that I couldn't get ahold of any other representative in the call center. They are appauling and rude. This is the most unprofessional site I have ever encountered. Please do yourself a favor and do not give this company your business."

"I was also ripped off by Camera Giants. I bought a Garmin Nuvi 255W for $109.99. Like everyone else, I received an email from them asking for verification (of what, I don't know). I called and spoke to someone named Chris. He told me that I needed certain cables to charge up the system. I said I didn't want to buy accessories now. He kept hounding me until I finally gave in. Well, I got the gps several days later with a bill for $304.00!!! When I saw the accessories included I blew my stack. They sent me IConcepts mini AC/DC adaptors which retail for $12.96 in Walmart...they charged me $89.00!!! They charged $48.00 for an SD card 1GB. I called Customer Service and asked for an RMA# so that I could return the whole thing. The bastard got real nasty with me and kept putting me on hold. Each time he got back on, he said "Are you going to let me talk now" to me. I demanded to speak to his supervisor and, once again, he put me on hold. I finally hung up on him. I called back several minutes later and, for some reason, his attitude changed. He very nicely gave me the RMA# so I could return it. Do you think he was reprimanded or is this just one of their games. I sent it back the next day. After a week, I received a credit on my credit card for the Garmin Nuvi 255W + accessories. I was originally charged $304.00. Well, Camera Giants refunded me $244.00. The creeps charged me a $60.00 re-stocking fee!
When you google Garmin Nuvi 255w best price, a list comes up showing these different sites with 5 star ratings. There must be some way of alerting people about scams like these BEFORE clicking onto their sites. I think the Attorney General should go after these scum.

"My experience is just as bad as everyone elses experience. I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 765T from them early in the afternoon. By late afternoon I received a phone call from them telling me that for an extra $99 I could buy a memory card. I wondered why I would want that since, they told that it came with no software or maps on the GPS. When I told him to cancel the order because they are screwing me, that operator laughed and asked me, "from the front or the back?". I got very upset at this point and told him to just cancel the &(** (&(*&(* order. "

"This place is a total scam. I wish someone would put them out of business. They post the lowest price available and then force you to order ridiculously priced batteries, chargers and accessories that are 10 times what others charge. In the end, you ultimately pay more for the camera. When I told them I only wanted the camera, all of a sudden they were out of stock and could not fill my order. So, I called and asked when they expected to receive more cameras so they could ship my order. They told me "next year" and hung up on me. Do not do business with this group. They are completely unethical."
