"Rip off artists! I ordered a Canon 30D camera from them, and they sent me an email asking me to call in and confirm the order. Upon calling, the sales rep Jessie asked, "Why did you order the international model? The menus are in Japanese." He then informed me that I had somehow agreed to some sort of terms and conditions stating that all their cameras are international models and that I would have to pay $200 extra for the US model. First, you "agree" to their terms when you place an order via a check box that's checked by default and easily missed. Second, I read every word of the terms, and there's nothing in there stating that their cameras are "international" models. Third, the product page itself on their web site says nothing about the camera being an import. Fourth, all Canon 30D cameras have multiple language menus. Even if the unit in question defaulted to Japanese, it would be a simple matter to change it back to English. When I informed the rep that I didn't see anything about "international models" on the web site, he immediately got very hostile and accused me of "trying to make a joke out of him." I didn't give in to his bullying and canceled the order."
"I received an email after I ordered saying that I should call to verify my order. When I did, they tried to sell me more stuff, which I did not want and did not buy.
I then received a call saying that there was a problem with my account. When I called they told me that the address was not on record with my credit card company. They gave me a number to call. That number was not a valid number.
I called my credit card company who called them and they were told that the address was OK.
The next day I got an email saying that the order was canceled because it was on back order but that I could buy a different model.
I have had this same problem before and this is an indication that their price is a phony."
"I would not recommend this retailer. I spent a long time on-line searching for a cheap price for a new Sharp LCD television. Cameraaddict had some of the best prices on many models. Their website is deceiving, however, as their televisions (unlike most other merchants) do not come with the pedestal stands that they are pictured with. However, their prices are so low, that even after adding the pedestal stand, they still seemed to have the best price by approximately $60. However, after the surprise of shipping, the merchant's price is higher than the carry out price on the item with extended care warranty at a nearby Best Buy. My problem with this company stems from the fact that the price I was quoted by their sales representative was $120 less than the value charge to my credit card. I was deliberately misled about the "total" charge. I called twice to ask what the total charge would be, since the invoice was not sent to my email address. Both times the operator gave me the "nontaxable subtotal" as its referred to on my invoice. The amount under "total" on my invoice was not quoted to me. In addition, the Four year warranty that I purchased turns out to only be three years. Consequently, I am disputing a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Think twice before considering a purchase from this merchant. Make sure that you have an invoice in hand before agreeing to ship an item. Regarding the return; I refused delivery of the item from the carrier. I am planning on refusing to pay for shipping charges, as the item I purchased ($1899 television) is not sold by this retailer. We will have to see how that goes with the help of my credit card company."

"I purchased two lenses through their website.. they sent me an e-mail asking me to call them to "confirm" my order, so I did call them and confirm it. While on the phone with them they used HIGH pressure sales tactics to pressure me into buying some addt'l items for the 2 lenses, i repeatedly told him No, that I didn't want or need the addt'l items, he would not let my order go through, he would not let me off the phone, he put my order on hold, I called back the next day and asked them to take my order off of hold, but i still DID NOT want the $300 filters for my lenses, he still would NOT let me say no.. He would not let me off the phone, he said that If I purchased them and didn't like them then I could send them back for a full return.. he did not say that there would be a restocking fee. I did not have time to deal with it at the time and I needed my lenses so I agreed to let them send them to me and i'd take a look at them. When I got the filters I decided that I didn't want or need them. When I called the company I was told that I was mistaken, the filters could not be returned, that, in fact, I'd have to return the FULL order and then there would be a restocking fee for the full order, so by the time that I pay that AND the S&H that I'd already paid the same amount for the filters, so why bother.
I was also put on hold Numerous times and then hung up on. I told them that they were not only scamming me, but everyone, he said that I was the one that fell for it.
I told him that I would spend everyday of my life until the day I die, making sure that other people don't get scammed, He actually told me that he hoped that it was "tomorrow" because they did nothing wrong. "
"ShopCartUsa.com showed these guys as the lowest price for the camera I wanted. I called to and spoke to a salesperson to confirm if the camera was indeed in stock and if so I'd like to place the order over the phone. The guy confirms that the camera is in stock but that I can only place the order over the web. So I did and like many others, I receivd an email to call confirm my order and "expedite processing." I called and it turns out to be the same upselling I got from BroadwayPhoto.com. I went through the whole process of turning everything down and finalized the order. I asked and was told that my order will arrive in 7-10 days. Two days later I get another e-mail saying that the camera is on backorder. This is the same things that happened to me at BroadwayPhoto. These guys are all the same since the e-mails generated to me were exactly the same. What at bunch of losers! Needless to say, I cancelled my orders."
"I'm not going spend a lot of space writing what everyone wrote below. But it's all true and all happened to me. The same "15 minute" battery and bait and switch. DO NOT SHOP HERE!"
"The purchase of a Pentax Optio W20 waterproof camera for $183.00 seemed to go very smoothly, until the company sales department called my wife to hard sell options to go along with the along with the camera. When she wouldn't give in to the hard sell, the sales rep then told her that the "offered" price in the on-line add was for a "Japanese Version" of the camera, and that our price would now be $225.00! This is an obvious "Bait and switch" operation, and these people cannot be trusted. I cancelled my order and will carefully watch for any attempts to misuse the credit card information I gave them ."
"The "find-the-best-price" web sites gave this place good reviews. Didn't know about ResellerRatings.com. I, of course, had the same experience as all the other reviewers. However, I actually got my item (Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS) at the listed price ($351), $25-$50 less than other sites. After turning down all their "offers" to upsell me, the salesman said, "of course there is a $39.95 shipping insurance charge". So I told him to cancel the order and if he doesn't want to sell it to me that's okay by me. He then said he would give it to me at the original price. It arrived within a week with everything intact. Don't take their bait-and-switch tactics personally, I was more amused than anything. Pretend it's a game."
"Misleading and potentially fraudulent store. They were forcing me to upgrade with overpriced add-on in order to get a camera in English. They waited until the 2nd phone call and until January 31st to tell me I had to pay $200 more to get the camera in English. Horrible experience!!!!!"
"While the price was attractive ($193 for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500), things quickly turned disappointing with CameraAddict.com
First, nothing comes with the camera — no battery, no charger, no cables — nothing that would regularly come with the camera as sold by everyone else. Okay, so some of the savings goes to the extras. Camera Addict wants a premium price for these items. Big surprise! So I opted to order a battery charger, batteries (with much higher capacity by the way), memory cards and stuff elsewhere.
I phoned first to verify the item was in stock. I was assured it was. My order went through the website without a hitch. The next day I get an e-mail requesting I call. I thought there was a problem with my credit card. Nope, they wanted to know why I didn't order a battery, charger, and so forth. Told them I didn't want them and was assured my order would be going out the next day.
The next day I receive another e-mail stating that the item was backordered (no further details, just backordered). I inquired and was told that it would be 4-6 weeks. Odd for an "in stock" item. I called and was told it would be 2-3 weeks "would I like to cancel?"
Caveat emptor! Clearly they didn't want to sell me "just" the camera. Hey, they set the price and policy. I'm going to have my friend Tony Cuomo look into this. You will also find that they also have a couple of other web-fronts. That is, they do business under different names.
Take your business elsewhere. After adding up the bottom line — and lack of service — you can do much better elsewhere. I did!"
